Scotty is actually on the very Religious-conservative side. He does not believe in showing skin and he refuses to kiss or show affection to someone he doesn't know in his videos. That's why he casts his girlfriend (who is hot as a star herself) in his videos TTWG and the new one for this song. He has been on a small diet. He gave up sugar drinks and only drinks lemon water. He was talking about this on Twitter recently. Now if we want to talk about someone who probably is really scrawny and may be embarrassed to take of his shirt, it's Hunter Hayes. Just an observation. Anyway I'm happy the way this single is going. It's about 3 months ahead of where STY was in it's journey last year. It could very well be Top 30 next week, if not, for sure 2 weeks. i doubt it. hunter totally has chicken legs like the rest of the fellas mentioned but he def takes care of his upper body www.680news.com/2014/06/27/raw-video-hunter-hayes-discusses-new-album-storyline-2/3 months is a heck of a lot of time. i know scotty said after 3rd single they'll start off new record. i dont know if he meant picking songs or recording the vocals etc. i dont think feelin' it will peak before the seasons over so im wondering if they'll stick with it till next year? if they wait will the 3rd be a fast song or fan favs slow songs (forget to forget you or get gone with you (tbh this one is my fav) ) ahhh so many questions. its exciting!

Unless there is a last minute change, which we know happens with singles, FTFY will be the 3rd single and that was told to me by Scotty himself. They plan to release it right after FI peaks. I believe that FI will start picking up steam as the chart clears more, not as many A Listers in the next little while releasing (After Garth and Aldean), and the stations who wait to add until songs hit Top 30, add it. I hope it goes #1 but a Top 10 peak like SYT would be respectable as well. I believe this should happen by October at the latest. There is no way they'll stick with it past the Holiday Freeze. I think by CMA time at the latest it'll be done. And it'd be a great time to at least get an add date for FTFY. Scotty probably is already listening to demos and doing writing himself while on the road. A lot of artists do that. It sure kills time on those long bus stretches between shows. He probably meant they'll go into the studio while FTFY climbs. And that song is deserving most of all of being his first #1. It's the best he's ever recorded and he performs it live with so much passion. I expect his next album to be in 4th Quarter 2015 with the debut single next Summer. So there is plenty of time for FTFY to have a full life of it's own after FI peaks.

If this is going to get to the top 10 by October or November, it's got a LOT of work to do. It's needed 15 weeks to accumulate 5.5 million in Billboard audience, but that's still about 25 million away from the top 10. We're exactly 10 weeks away from the last day of September, so if Scotty wants a shot at the top 10 by the beginning of October, "Feelin' It" would need to average a gain of 2.5 million a week over the next 10 weeks. Or, to be top 10 by CMA time, he'd need to average about 1.7 mil a week over the next 15 weeks.
I'm not trying to be mean here or anything but that seems like a really, really steep hill. I think if this is going top 10, it won't get there until 2015...or it won't get there at all. The song has been doing a bit better recently, and it gained 540k on Billboard this week with a bullet of 135, but there is literally no one ahead of Scotty that I can see him passing except via songs going recurrent. David Nail and Brothers Osborne are climbing at a similar rate compared to Scotty but everyone else in the top 30 is moving up way more quickly and I don't expect that to change. Scotty isn't going up ahead of Keith Urban or Rascal Flatts. If he passes Parmalee, it'll only be because they go recurrent (but I don't think they are done yet). Same goes for Big & Rich.
Bottom line is, this song is basically relying on small audience gains in order to gain chart positions, and it's especially relying on the slow trickle of songs going recurrent, usually after those other songs have hit #1 at Mediabase. It needs to start gaining in a big way in order to have any sort of shot at the top 10.

I expect this to have a fairly slow climb for the reasons jhomes87 stated, but it seems to be doing well so I can see it lasting a long time and should still have a pretty high peak on the charts - hopefully another Top 10! And as for the shirtless discussion: expecting him (or any male artist) to go shirtless in a music video is not all that different from complaining about a woman not wearing short enough skirts/shorts, tight enough jeans, or low-cut top, etc. In other words, I don't see the need for it. I can't think of any examples off the top of my head, but I don't feel like a lot of male country stars frequently do this anyway.

I'm going on SYT peaked in March, and FI is 3 months ahead of where SYT was last July. Both debuted in April/May in their respective years. Based on that a top 10 peak could happen by December. But yes he does need to have a few great weeks in there, and I believe he will. This song won't be climbing after the Christmas freeze. I don't recall any Beach songs flying to #1 with snow covering most of the USA. So if it doesn't happen by December, it'll peak wherever it is at the freeze. FTFY is the perfect sad Winter song and his team knows that and won't miss that opportunity. Oh hey just noticed I'm over 3000 posts as of today! Wow! Glad I was put over the edge in this thread!

Finally this broke the Billboard Top 30 last night. It should follow on Mediabase in the next week or 2. It jumped from 14 to 4 on Callout America. That says alot, fans love what they are hearing! Hopefully radio gets on the ball soon, as this song has an expiration date of when it will make sense to power play it. I give it til the end of October at the latest. Hopefully Scotty will get a top 20 at minimum out of this song. "Forget to Forget You" will be the 3rd single and the song that will turn some heads. I know that 3rd singles historically "ride on the backs" of where the 2nd single peaks. But FTFY is a better song, and really the best thing he will have ever released to radio. So I'm hoping for his first top 5 out of that.
Anyway, this is Scotty last night at the Ohio State fair playing for over 10,000 people. He did that the night before in Iowa too. "Carolina Moon" is traditional Country at it's finest, written by Jon Randall. Scotty says this is his favorite song he's ever recorded. Radio would never touch this but this performance is so touching to watch.
Interesting comparatives between SYT and FI's journeys. (Credit DrDeb on Idolforums)
FEELIN IT Top 50: Milestones and Comparatives #50 5/11 #49 5/14 (3 days after T50) #48 5/15 (4 days after T50) #46 5/18 (7 days after T50) #45 5/19 (8 days/ 1 wk after T50) vs almost 5 wks for SYT #40 6/01 (21 days/ 3 wks after T50) vs 91 days/ 13 wks / 3.2 mos for SYT #39 6/11 (31 days after T50) #38 6/15 (35 days after T50) #36 7/15 (66 days/ 9.4 wks/ 2.4 mos after T50) #33 7/21 (71 days/ 10.1 wks/2.5 mos after T50) #30 8/03 (84 days/ 12 wks/ 3 mos after T50) vs 177 days / 25 wks / 6.2 mos for SYT
Note 1: FI hit T30 63 days/ 9 wks/ 2.2 mos after hitting T40. If FI takes a similar length of time to move from #30 to #20, then it’ll do so by the end of September/beginning of October. Here’s hoping Scotty can shave 2-3 weeks off this time frame! Note 2: FI remains 3.2 months ahead of SYT’s pace!

Well this is still chugging along. It's getting decent daily updates most days. Several things holding it back. AI is not as impressive as spins as most of his big supporting stations aren't high in AI. What he needs is Westwood One adding him and the high AI stations he has (and he has 99% of them) to actually spin the song regularly, which isn't happening. Houston, LA, and NY who have added him are must haves sooner rather than later to actually spin. What is helping the updates is the syndicated shows. If Bobby or Cody play him, he has a good update, if not, the next day or rolling week day is bad. Summer is ending. Will stations get behind a very Summer song like this still? Will we be hearing "Flip Flops flopping" while carving the turkey? So far this song shows no signs of weakening, it's just stagnant. Maybe a "chart cleaning" will help but without the AI catching up with the spins to where he can compete with those immediately ahead of him, I don't know how much longer this will hold on. I just don't get why some stations bother adding songs when they have no intention to play them at all or wait til other stations get it up the chart first.

It all comes down to the fact that radio can't put everything into top 20 or top 10 rotation at one time, and of course each song is always affected by the other songs it's 'doing battle' with. Scotty managed to pass Rascal Flatts on tonight's Billboard chart, but there are still more than 20 songs ahead of him that are all still climbing the charts as well, so unless some of them start to drop, it's tough for Scotty to move up. Parmalee, David Nail, Dan + Shay, Hunter Hayes, Justin Moore, and Randy Houser...they're all in the same boat that Scotty is. David is following up a huge #1 yet he's only #29, and that's after 26 weeks on the chart, too. Zac Brown Band is about to suffer their lowest-charting single, Eric Church will likely have his lowest-charting hit in 3-4 years. Keith Urban and Miranda/Carrie have slowed down, too.
Everything is just really backed up on the charts right now. The good news is that means we'll probably hit a breaking point soon, and some of the artists struggling the most (ZBB, Eric, Swon Bros, EYB...maybe Parmalee and Big & Rich) will finally drop and go recurrent. I've been expecting it to happen for the last 2-3 weeks now but so far it hasn't come yet.

#19 and still going stong! Its still about 3 months ahead of SYT's journey. Hope it'll be top 10 by the freeze. Plans are already in place to drop the next single once this tops out. Westwood one is about to get on board and that should take this top 15 soon.

If "Mud on the Tires" can be a #1 in February, then surely this can keep going past the end of summer.

I could see this song being this years version of Sunny and 75, a summery single that peaks in December, maybe even early January. I quite like this song, it's about as big of an ear worm as you can get. I couldn't imagine someone hating this song.

I'm glad this is doing well on the airplay front, but I wish this was selling more. Like right now it's not even registering on the map for iTunes according to kworb's daily updates. So it's got the lowest sales out of any song in the Top 40, presently (with the exception of Garth's, which isn't available for download).

Interesting. I should've known it seemed too extreme to be true. Evidently kworb.net/radio/ is not picking up this one's position on iTunes for whatever reason, because it shows a dashed line where it should have the number, which would ordinarily suggest it's basically not selling. But this changes everything, so ignore my last post then, lol.

I believe that sales are around 150K for this right now. Once Westwood gets ahold of it, then sales numbers and radio charting numbers should start moving more swiftly. Now that it's in the top 20 some of the "follower" stations who won't play B List radio artists like Scotty until they make it that far will start playing it too. I hope to see this make it to the top 10 by the end of the year so he can get FTFY to radio after the freeze is over.

Scotty revealed in an interview with WQDR in Raleigh this week that next Summer he is going to be on a major tour and is waiting for the headliner to announce it before he can say anymore. Most likely he will be a middle act since he's been on his own headlining tour the last couple years playing for anywhere from 2000-10000. He just played a special concert with Lady A in Puerto Rico this week so maybe it could be them. I guess we'll hear soon.
About FI, wow the updates this week with a healthy 300+ bullet is a great sight to see. Westwood is finally a starter station and he is getting play by all the major syndicators now. I don't know if it'll make it all the way to #1, the top 20 is so stacked with more mega A Listers on the way. Right now my best bet would be a peak in the low teens to upper single digits. The only monitored station still refusing to play this song at all is Boise. There are a handful who are playing it but still haven't added. Westwood should be an auto add Monday.

I'm so glad he'll be on the road with a major headliner again! Someone like Luke Bryan would be great but I have a feeling it could be Kenny Chesney if he tours this summer, which he probably will to promote the new album. Tim McGraw would be my second guess.

As of today this is Scotty's 3rd top 15 Billboard hit! I don't know how much higher it'll go, very tough competition coming behind him and nothing really moving in front of him. His biggest spinners aren't the top 5 (He does have #1 KKBQ at 10.0 AI in his corner tho) and Cumulus markets and he only has 1 of the 2 Westwoods playing it. So I'm predicting a peak somewhere around the lower teens unless something extraordinary happens. There is a 3rd single picked if this peaks soon enough. If it continues to climb into the New Year into early Spring like SYT did, then the next single (In the late Spring/Summer) will probably be from a new album that he hasn't started recording yet. It's all about the timing at this point. I'd hate to see his current album end with only 2 singles but when radio makes his songs climb at the rate of 1 single a year, there really isn't much option if he wants an album out every other year.

It will be top 15 on both MB and BB on Monday! I believe this will at least sneak into the top 10 by the freeze.

It will be top 15 on both MB and BB on Monday! I believe this will at least sneak into the top 10 by the freeze. It was #15 on last week's Billboard chart before getting knocked back to #16 this week by Brad Paisley. If this can keep gaining into December I suppose it could have a chance at sneaking into the top 10. Let's see...Scotty should finish this week at #14 on Billboard (+3 from FGL, Chase, and Brantley going recurrent, -1 from getting passed by Kenny). So that would mean that "Feelin' It" would be 4th in line for a top 10 spot, behind Parmalee, Brad, and Kenny. However, I would guess that Eric Church and possibly FGL's "Sun Daze" will pass Scotty before he can make it to the top 10, which essentially means that Scotty is 6th in line. Can we find 6 droppers? Aldean is one, Sam Hunt will be two, I'll say Big & Rich and Parmalee will be 3 and 4...that would mean Blake would have to open up the 5th spot, and Frankie Ballard the 6th spot. How long will it take for those 6 songs to vacate the top 10? I think Aldean and Big & Rich will actually be the first 2 to leave, then probably Sam Hunt and then maybe Parmalee (I can't imagine that one making it all the way to #1). Frankie Ballard probably has 4-5 chart weeks left (most likely 5), and I think Blake will have at least 4 more chart appearances. I expect those two plus Parmalee to be the last 3 (of the 6 songs I identified) to vacate their top 10 spots, so theoretically Scotty might be able to enter the top 10 by the second Monday of December (the 8th), since we'll have 4 Monday charts in November as well as one on the 1st of December. Of course this all hinges on Scotty's ability to be able to post gains himself--if "Feelin' It" can't keep climbing for the next 4+ weeks then it won't be able to get there. But I do see a scenario in place in which Scotty could last long enough to make it there. We'll have to wait and see.
