This looks a lot more comparable to a three-weeks' difference (March 2 Mediabase) rather than two.
- Ryan plays a drop of Sia's new song, "Chandelier".
- The departure of "White Walls" makes this the first M&RL-less Top 40 since the beginning of last year, though not the first show without them due to "Same Love" as an Extra.
- Ryan pointed out that "Not a Bad Thing" would be Justin's 26th AT40 hit if it charts (and it obviously will) - more than any other male solo artist so far this century. He also pointed out that Eminem currently has 25 as well, with his latest currently in the running for another.
- Bruno breaks Richard Marx's record by "Young Girls" making him 13 for 13 among Top 10s, here - though there's nary a mention of it.
- And, another 2 For 1 using the featured artist. Though, when did they last play "Lighters"?

A European DJ invasion? This week's show includes hits or soon-to-be-hits from Naughty Boy, Calvin Harris, DJ Snake, Tiesto, Martin Garrix, Avicii, and Zedd: that's England, Scotland, France, the Netherlands, Sweden, and Germany all represented. I count 17 songs on the chart by foreign-based acts.
5 weeks at #1 makes "Dark Horse" the longest running #1 since..."Roar." It'll probably get to 6 or 7 (seven weeks would be Katy's longest running #1 yet.) Since "Team" hit #1 on MB on Sunday, it may slip in a week on top here (like Sunday #1's "Counting Stars" and "Daylight" did.) If not, then "Happy" would be the next #1.

The timing of Lady Gaga's guest-hosting makes me worry, actually - between that, the lagging behind, and the recent Mediabase closeness at #1, it'd be very easy for "Team" to get screwed over.

How far is AT40 behind from the actual Mediabase chart? It tends to range from 2-3 weeks behind, mostly depending on Seacrest's availability for doing shows. The original standard is 2 weeks, which dates back to the R&R era. (Mediabase Sunday = R&R chart for Friday that week; AT40 would then use that same R&R chart for the show not the next day, but one week following. So, tonight's Mediabase (3/23) would be used for the April 5 AT40 under this model.) The show's chart can lag behind to be 3 weeks behind at times though - or, God forbid, even longer. Even being on time, though, the charts won't match up exactly, since AT40 has their own panel of affiliates that they use for this. Well that, and unlike on Mediabase where ancient songs can sneak back into the recurrentless Top 40 from time to time, once old songs fall off AT40, they're gone. Re-entries are allowed, but the number of re-entries since 2004 can be counted on one hand if not two. More than you were asking for, but there's basically the whole picture. :)

Speaking of re-entries, what was the last song on AT40 to sneak back into The Top 40? What date did it happen?

Speaking of re-entries, what was the last song on AT40 to sneak back into The Top 40? What date did it happen? At first I thought it was "Hello" (Martin Solveig/Dragonette), but a quick check reveals that that never actually fell out of the countdown before going back up in its run. I'd have to double-check to be sure (will take longer), but the latest I can think of is when "Fuck You (Forget You)" returned on 1/29/2011 for its second run.

Re-entries have been few and far between since the Seacrest era began. The last re-entry I can think of (not counting "Forget You", since that was considered a separate chart run) was "Away From The Sun" by 3 Doors Down back in August 2004. That did have a bit of a resurgence on the chart. It returned to AT40 after dropping off for, about, three months. I don't believe there's been another, since.

Judging by the USA Today mediabase charts that have already been published, the next two #1's on AT40 will be by Lorde followed by Pharrell

Those are the published Mediabase charts as seen on All Access.

I'm quite sure "Numb/Encore" slipped off for a week right before the two-week break for the year-end chart in 2004, then restarted its run in the new year.

He says something like, "Check out the Mediabase airplay charts published every Tuesday in the Life Section."

"Got Money" by Lil' Wayne (featuring T-Pain) reentered AT40 on November 1, 2008; it entered on 10/18/08, fell off the next week, and returned for two more weeks on 11/1 and 11/8. All of its three weeks on the countdown were at the same position (#39). (I found this in the AT40 thread from January 2011 when "F***/Forget You" reentered.)
