Most of her "singles" haven't actually been pushed to radio, so it's really no surprise that most of them haven't done anything at radio and that radio is treating this like another promotional release that's not being serviced there.

She has an audience, but it's not necessarily the audience of Top 40 radio. I don't think anybody can seriously contend that her sound is radio friendly except on alternative or Triple A, at least with the singles that have been serviced so far. She's not on Alt or triple a tho. She's not on American radio PERIOD. Any format. They could have given her a radio deal tbh. Maybe a live performance on TV. But they seem to not care about the song at all. And just Let it slide lol. I really hope she do some TV promo for the album tho. I'm more worried about the song performance WW as they are not pushing it either which is strange. The UK removal is another massive mistake. "West Coast" was a sure fire #1 UK hit but now I'm uncertain. Even if radio doesn't want to play the song, they can't ignore a #1 hit and now it looks like that won't be happening. UK Radio probably won't give it chance as well. Regardless, Lana will always make amazing music. It will most likely be under appreciated once again due to her flop management. Her American tour is the same. (Flop management) They obviously didn't expect such a huge demand for her causing them to expand and add more dates. Messy pre sale etc. West Coast COULD have been a top 10 or 5 debut with a radio deal and Tv performance like Ed new single. But I'm sure Interscope didn't expect the high digital sales that's why they didn't bother promoting the song to radio. it was after it was released that that new radio mix surfaced online. When they should have EVERYTHING prepared and ready to be sent to radio before hand. Her tour is the same like I mentioned.

Let's be honest though, could you really imagine West Coast being playing on CHR between Dark Horse and #Selfie? The tempo changes alone make it super radio unfriendly for pop, and the sort of mumbled/distorted vocals would never fly.

Just like Young And Beautiful were played and still is on Kiis fm and Z100.

I wish a song like this could be a pop smash, but I'm not sure. I'm horrible with predictions. Great song though.

Maybe the song by Lana is not for that kind of silly company But with Lorde and Beyonce she would do just fine!

I mean, slower songs have been finding an audience on pop radio or different tempos from the two songs mentioned. This is not the right song though. I just don't hear it working on radio like I have her other music (Young and Beautiful included). They seem to choose (or Lana chooses)? some of her least radio-friendly songs to make singles and I guess they think it hasn't mattered and her cd still sold a lot so why push radio-friendly material even if she has it?

This could be true. Still, like for any single from Born To Die/Paradise She will do remixes and maybe they will send some of them... Blue Jeans and Video Games had some AWESOME remixes!

I won't be surprised if it did. It has zero airplay and the streams after the first week were probably not enough to have any impact at all.

Unfortunately I fear that too :( well, at least, she had her 2nd top 20 hit!

I wouldn't necessarily call here 1 week gone the next a hit haha. I mean, Soko charted at #9 on the Hot 100 and disappeared the next because of that viral video with her song in it. I wouldn't say that song was a hit.

I guess so, I mean if Billboard had counted youtube views for the Hot 100 in 2011, Rebecca Black would have had a #1 debut but instead had to settle for 59.

The music video will be coming soon, according to her Instagram account. You can watch a snippet of it here.

I think the best chance, even though its early for this song to chart successfully is if the music video can in some way or some form help its performance. I know its early, but I am not very convinced this will do well as of rn.

"West Coast" dropped off the Hot 100 chart this week after the track debuted at No. 17 on last week's tally. Del Rey debuted the single during a stunning performance at Coachella last month.

The UK removal is another massive mistake. "West Coast" was a sure fire #1 UK hit but now I'm uncertain. Even if radio doesn't want to play the song, they can't ignore a #1 hit and now it looks like that won't be happening. UK Radio probably won't give it chance as well. have you ever followed the UK charts? if it was released on air/on sale there, do you really think it was a "sure fire #1" against Kiesza's huge sales from months of hype and pre-orders? Even at another time, OA/OS can and does work but not often for #1s unless the song/artist are really that huge, which this isn't. The held back release at least gives it a chance. also Radio 1 played it at least 11 times in the first 2 days and playlisted it this week

Tsunami did it though. But anyway there's still 2 weeks to go so if it's quite possible then we'll see!

Awful… that strips the song of everything that makes it so good and special. It is boring and watered down like crazy! If that is what you have to do to a song to get it on the radio then no thanks!

West Coast reached the top 40 on preorders and remained high the entire week until they removed and replaced the original version of the song. And it never got back up. We Can't Stop was available for pre orders as well. I don't think it reached as high as "West Coast". I don't know about "Wrecking Ball" And yes honey I follow the charts. :)

We Can't Stop reached at least #24.

I'm lost. Is the radio mix the Dan Auerbach mix or is it a different version?
