Looking forward to this album coming out. Of course, he chose to release the same day as Dua Lipa which isn't new for him since he deadass released Montevallo the same day as Taylor put out 1989. Can't wait to see what he has in store!

Can't wait to see what he has in store! I'm pretty sure he'll outdo Dua with a tour bundle. Dua's last album didn't even debut in the Top 10 in the US so who knows how she's going to do. Both are my faves though so it's win-win for me!

Hopefully it has songs as good as "Take Your Time" or "Make You Miss Me."

Montevallo was overall a very strong album, especially for a kuntry male but his acoustic album was 10000x better.

Really looking forward to hearing the album this Friday! Do we have an estimate of how this will do? Montevallo opened with 70K and I feel like Sam Hunt has gotten bigger as time went on (but I'm not sure how his long break translates in terms of album success).

The album is cute. Nothing mind blowing. Aside from “Let It Down”, which I didn’t like, I like every song here. “Young Once” is a classic Sam Hunk bop.

The album is ok. It definitely is far behind both Montevallo and the acoustic mixtape for me. It leans more country and seems to have less of the experimental R&B/catchy hook sound that drew me to his music in the first place. The best songs are the ones that still do that - but we had heard all of those prior to release. Drinking Too Much is still my favorite song of his. I hope he gets experimental like that more on his next record and that we don’t have to wait five years for it.

I personally loved this album, not as much as Montevallo, but it showed artistic growth and that's all I can ask for.

hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=320790&title=NEW-RELEASES%3A-WAVE-FORMSunday, April 5, 2020 NEW RELEASES: WAVE FORMIt's entirely possible that Interscope will battle The Weeknd again next week for #1. This time Rod Wave will succeed 5 Seconds of Summer as the ’Scope’s challenger. At present, we’re ballparking both The Weeknd and Rod Wave at around 70k. Lil Uzi Vert’s set, entering its fifth week, could also pose a challenge. Rod Wave (Alamo/Geffen/Interscope) 65-75k total activity, 2-3k albums Sam Hunt (MCA Nashville) 45-55k, 15-20k

Not only is Sam fine as hell, he is actually extremely talented. He can sing circles around the other "bro-country" artists. In fact, I really wish he was not included in that bunch. He is much more of a singer-songwriter, even though he occasionally writes goofy songs. Anyway, he continues to work on singing (not that he was anything less than capable, but now...he is probably one of the best country male vocalists and his voice matches how sexy he is) and despite the big gap and including old songs, this is head and shoulders above Montevallo. That said, I don't think he needed my #11 and #12 on the album. Maybe bonus tracks, but either way, this gets a B+ from me. VERY well-executed. 1. Sinning With You (one of his best written songs and his delivery is flawless and that brief spoken piece...whew!) 2. Breaking Up Was Easy In The 90's (swoon...put a big, dumb smile on my face. obvious next single and might do well on pop because it gives me Backstreet Boys ballad vibes if radio is ready to embrace that again, idk) 3. That Ain't Beautiful (oh man...this is what drew me to Sam. His effortless blending of genres and his sexy talking...I dunno...something about this guy really gets to me) 4. 2016 (this is the Sam who wrote Come Over and then snatched it back from the guy he let sing it. Ace.) 5. Hard To Forget (what kind of JAM?! That sample, the cadence...all of it.) 6. Drinkin' Too Much (I wanted to like this even more but the songs I put above it are just stronger all around. it might be the instrumental that doesn't quite gel for me, but it's still better than everything after it. I get goosebumps at the end.) 7. Kinfolks 8. Body Like A Backroad 9. Nothing Lasts Forever 10. Downtown's Dead 11. Let It Down 12. Young Once (I just didn't really remember it but it's not a bad song from what I vaguely remember) #LisaRinna, what are your thoughts?

Footage of me jamming out to "Hard to Forget": "Kinfolks" is another bop. "Young Once" BITCH! Yass we love a crossover moment. Beautiful production on "Nothing Lasts Forever". Another crossover. "Breakin' up Was Easy in the 90s" is a total teeny bop, very cute. Active Aggressive

OK #LisaRinna come THROUGH with the heehaw review! But, good sis, you must talk about the delicious voCALS on Sinnin With You (my favorite song on the album). Hard To Forget is a BANGER though. He murked that sample and made it iconic. I wanna see him live. Young Once had to grow on me but it really rocks with that chorus.

This NYT article before his album release is a good read:
Also, he released music videos for "Young Once" and "Hard to Forget" in the past two months:

I never tire of listening to this guy’s catalogue. I don’t think I’ve ever ranked my top ten for him, so here goes.
1. Come Over 2. Goodbye 3. Drinkin’ Too Much 4. House Party 5. Hard to Forget 6. Sinning With You 7. Leave the Night On 8. Raised on It 9. Single for the Summer 10. Break Up in a Small Town
Very close honorable mentions to Take Your Time, Make You Miss Me, Saturday Night, Let it Down, and Vacation!
I need him to make like three more albums ASAP so that I can shuffle him and it will last longer.

I need to listen to his first album tomorrow. Picked a random song from this album (“Nothing Lasts Forever”) to give him a try and that has to be one of the best songs I’ve heard this year.
