Little Monster makes it five weeks at #1, tying the record previously only held by Dangerous. Not sure if it will extend the record or leave it at a tie. Every Other Freckle has probably dropped its bullet at some point but remains at #2. The big mover in the Top 10 this week comes from Room To Breathe, You Me At Six's lead single that has had a steady climb through the ladders of the chart and now has a shot at the ultimate slot. My Demons slips a position to #4 though spends its tenth week in the Top 10, the T-4th longest reign in that section of the chart. Frank Turner's Recovery holds steady at #5 with room to grow in future weeks as older songs slip. From Eden drops to #6, unable to match the #1 peak of former single Take Me To Church. It's still two Top 10's, which many artists can't claim. Third single Angel Of Small Death and the Codeine Scene is rising at #40, so Hozier might make it 3/3 on Top 10 singles soon. NiN's Came Back Haunted nears the Top 5, jumping 10 - 7 in its second week in the Top 10. Down The Road seems to be desperately trying to cling onto Top 10 placement after its strong #45 debut, but looks to be on its way out. It holds at #8 with a disappointing #6 peak as its apparent legacy. Blame is the lone new Top 10 entry this week, moving from #12 - #9. It follows long-lasting but not-so-high peaking Summer (#32, 19 weeks), and looks to have a fruitful run ahead. Haven't gotten around to listening to anything else from motion other than the Big Sean song (of which I wasn't a fan), so third single isn't decided yet. Finally, Super Bon Bon rounds out the Top 10, ready to exit after an 8 week tenure.
Hot Shot Debut this week is Smooth Sailing from Queens Of The Stone age, the third(?) radio single off of Like Clockwork that I apparently completely missed out on until now. It enters at #68, an average entry for the top debut of the week, and probably has a nice run ahead. A Beginner's Guide To Destroying The Moon enters at #77, yet another Foster the People single off of Supermodel; the sixth from the album to chart. It will probably end up around the same range as the last track, Nevermind (which peaked at #26 and is now in freefall). Fire Escape is probably the only other track I would consider charting from the album and it's a little left field for a chart so it might not make it. Who knows, I thought this album was done after Best Friend. Stunner from Milky Chance joins up at #79, which is the fifth track from Milky Chance to enter. It's already past Fairytale (#83) and nearing Down By The River (#76), but stands a shot at becoming the German duo's top-charting single, since the chart started after Stolen Dance had "peaked". Robert DeLong just released an EP and a lead single for a new project, so that means it's time for me to chart his past material as a tend to do. Global Concepts enters at #85, and Long Way Down will probably be Bubbling Under before long. Kasabian's eez-eh is the next entry at #89. It's been in my head all week and I'm not really sure why I waited to chart it until now. Copy Of A continues the Nine Inch Nails takeover, hoping to match Came Back Haunted's Top 10 success. Might get caught up in some of the older singles though. Violent Shiver is Benjamin Booker's first charting track, in at #95 and hopefully up for a long run on the chart. Finally, a successor to Top 10 hit Top Notch (#7) from Manchester Orchestra enters just as the first single is set to drop off. Cope pops in at #97 after Trees couldn't manage to make it out of the Bubbling Under chart.
Bubbling Under #1 is Logic's Under Pressure, a song that strongly reminds me of Sing About Me, I'm Dying Of Thirst and a sure contender for HSD next week. Recurrent #1 remains Come A Little Closer, though Cake nearly won out at #2 with The Distance. Sir Sly's Gold drops out at 30 weeks, one week shy of trying the all-time weeks charted record. Though this will assuredly be broken by Gotta Get Away, Dangerous, and potentially other songs, Sir Sly missed a slice of chart history. Still the second song to hit 30+ weeks, so there's something. That's all for this week, stay tuned for year-end chart news soon.

Room To Breathe finally dethrones Little Monster after its record-tying run of five weeks at the #1 slot. It won't have that level of success, but even reaching #1 is an impressive achievement. Every Other Freckle finally slides to #3 and might not recover back to its #2 peak. Mainly because Recovery and Came Back Haunted are rising up to attempt Top 3 peaks of their own. One of these two tracks might sneak in for a week at #1 before stronger tracks claim the throne. My Demons extends its 4th-longest Top 10 tenure, now at 11 weeks in the elite group. Right On, Frankenstein makes a convincing move into the Top 10, jumping from #13 - #7 and passing the peak of Trainwreck 1979 (#8). Calvin Harris and John Newman's Blame rises one spot; caught between two strong songs making bigger moves. Something From Nothing is one of those songs; the lead Foo Fighters single making its way into the Top 10 after five weeks. It stands an outside chance at hitting #1 as well. Final member of the Top 10 this week is Down The Road, which had an impressive stay in the Top 10 (7 Weeks) despite the peak being less than desirable (#6). The debuts this week are a little different than usual, as the top two new entries don't fit the typical Alt/Rock mold. Come To Daddy (Pappy Mix) claims the Hot Shot title this week, a very abstract and odd track that reminds me vaguely of Prodigy and that got me to check out Aphex Twin's work this past week. The odd and disturbing (though hilarious) music video aided in the high debut. Absolutely no idea where this one's headed on the chart. Second entry is Under Pressure, Logic's 9-minute (because the radio edit isn't as good) storytelling track that gives of some Sing About Me, I'm Dying of Thirst vibes. It Bubbled Under at #1 last week and just barely missed charting, though maybe this higher debut is better for its future prospects. As Same Damn Life starts to slip, Seether's third single makes its entrance. See You At The Bottom debuts at #81, the album opener and a heavy track that was one of the standouts to me on my first listen. I'll probably be able to pick a few more chart singles from Isolate and Medicate in the coming months; it's a solid record. Following their new Sonic Highways album, another Foo track debuting was expected. I Am A River is the selected track, the third from their 8th album to make the chart and my favorite out of the back half that I hadn't heard before the album dropped. The seven minute epic joins at #85 and should chart well. Another Aphex Twin track joins from the other side of the spectrum: IZ-US at #89. Falling on the instrumental, smoother side of the spectrum, this one isn't as abrasive as the Hot Shot. I also have no idea where it's going to chart. The third and final Bubbling Under graduate, Da Vinci from Weezer, enters at #93. I liked this single much more than Back To The Shack, and while it might not do ridiculous things on the chart, it should have some longevity. Bush's lead single which I was undecided about for a little bit now charts at #96. The Only Way Out (which is oddly similar lyrically to Live's comeback lead single) might get caught in the bottom positions if it doesn't grow more on me soon. Finally, another classic OK GO track I missed until recently, Needing/Getting, is the final debut at #99. Hopefully it can do better than WTF?(#90). Bubbling Under #1 is The Lion The Beast the Beat from Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, which is really annoying to type and should have a strong debut next week. Recurrent #1 changes hands, as classic Cake hit The Distance slides into the #1 slot. No unexpected dropouts, though two top 10 hits in Top Notch and ex-#1 hit Purple Yellow Red and Blue make their exits. Only 6 weeks left in the year, unlike most other people my year-end chart covers the whole calendar year, so expect some Top 2014 tracks and artists in January. Thanks for checking out the chart, see you next week. Room To Breathe spends a second week atop the chart, while Little Monster continues its impressive chart tenure with its 7th straight week in the Top 2. Frank Turner's Recovery is next in line for the #1 slot in terms of chart position, but its bullet (and a bunch of strong songs a few positions below) might prevent that. One of those songs is Right, On Frankenstein, which has already flown past DFA1979's previous chart peak (Trainwreck 1979 at #8) and is the T-2nd youngest song in the Top 10, which is good news for its continued positive movement. Came Back Haunted is stagnant at #5 and might have peaked since it can't keep up with the strong movement of other songs around it. Every Other Freckle isn't gaining any more, and it shows. In a particularly fast-moving week, it falls three spots from its previously comfortable #3 placement. Something From Nothing rises #9 - #7, its quick ascent up the charts finally slowing down a little. Blame is stuck at #8, and might suffer the same fate as Nine Inch Nails despite still being in pretty heavy rotation. Even with all of the movement in the Top 10, room still had to be made for two new entries. First up is TV On The Radio's lead single, Happy Idiot. Another song with a pretty good shot at #1 in the next few weeks, it started out a little slow in the first week or two but has been on fire in the past month. Finally, Mike Doughty's Light Will Keep Your Heart Beating In The Future, most likely the longest title for a charting song ever, sneaks in at #10. Its (fictional) bullet is slipping dangerously close to the negatives but a Top 10 appearance is impressive nonetheless.
The Hot Shot Debut goes to a non-rock song this time around. Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars deliver a funky earworm in Uptown Funk. Debuting at #49 it's one of the 15 highest-debuting songs ever, and should make its way up the chart very quickly. Next debut is Prodigy's Invaders Must Die. It's a few years old but that doesn't stop it from making a strong chart appearance. A little unsure of whether this will have a Top 10 worth run but should have a decent showing. Third highest song to enter this week is a third single. Crystal Ball from Death From Above 1979 has a decent shot at making it 3/3 for DFA1979 Top 10 singles, but it's a little early to call. Last week's Bubbling Under chart topper makes its full chart entry this week. The Lion The Beast The Beat probably needs a few weeks to warm up but should do well. Next debut is a song that I listened to, thought nothing of, and a few months later heard again and really enjoyed. Panama Wedding's Alternative sort of hit (does Top 40 count?) All Of The People joins in at #90. Unsure of where it's going to end up peaking, it's pretty crowded in the lower regions of the chart. It's been over three months since their last single, but I'm Torn Up finally gives St. Paul and the Broken Bones their second charting song. Hopefully it can outpeak Call Me (#90). OK Go seems to be having a lot of #90-100 peaking hits recently, and I Won't Let You Down is another attempt from the band to break out of the bottom 10. Way back in the early days of the chart, Get Over It peaked at #12 but they haven't had another successful track since then. Maybe this will break the streak. Finally, Calvin Harris has his third single enter after one week bubbling under. Outside, the second collaboration with Ellie Goulding enters at #97. Not sure if I really like it yet so it might get trapped near the bottom of the chart.
Tongues makes its exit from the chart after 25 weeks, but claims the recurrent #1 slot from Cake. Bubbling Under #1 goes to Robert DeLong, who is waiting for Global Concepts to make a bit of a dent before debuting. Long Way Down should make it onto the chart next week. Meanwhile, Sir Sly's Inferno is lingering around on the BU chart at #5 after 10 weeks. It's the T-5th longest run on that chart and if it doesn't drop off or make a main chart appearance it stands to tie or break the 14 week record (Atlas Genius' Back Seat). In other chart longevity news, Dangerous is the third song to have a 30+ week run, and if it can hang around for 1 or 2 weeks (spoiler alert: it probably will), it will tie and then break the longest main chart run. After the Disco from Broken Bells currently holds the mark at 31 weeks. Hope everyone is enjoying their turkey, I'll be back next week for another update! Peace.

Happy Idiot rises from #9 to claim the #1 spot over a plethora of contenders (seriously, I considered the #2, #3, #6, and #7 songs along with TV On The Radio's track for #1 this week). Due to all of those contenders, it might be a short reign, or it could hold them all off. Stay tuned. Right On, Frankenstein just misses the top billing this week, though #2 is still a very impressive showing. Frank Turner's Recovery continues its slow ascent through the Top 10, though this week is it's first roadblock, flatlining at #3. Little Monster drops to #4 after seven straight weeks in the Top 2. Expect a very slow descent down the chart, similar to the other 5-week #1 hit (Dangerous, for those of you new to the chart). Room To Breathe takes a big hit, but two weeks at #1 probably outweighs a drop from 1 > 5. Dave Grohl and Co. move to #6 with Something From Nothing. This one might lose out on a high peak due to congestion for the top few places. Not sure though, it's not done yet. Though Came Back Haunted was considered for the #1 position, it was the first to be out of the running, and quickly began its fall down the chart. Good news is another NiN track should enter this group soon. Every Other Freckle extends its Top 10 tenure to 11 weeks, the T-4th longest of all time. If it can hang on one more week it ties Foster the People's Best Friend for 3rd. Light Will Keep Your Heart Beating In The Future defies last week's prediction and moves up to #9. With several songs waiting for their Top 10 shots, I'll predict it will peak here, but that might change. Finally, Starset's second charting song makes it 2/2 for Top 10 peaks, as Carnivore enters the illustrious grouping of tracks near the top of the chart.
A song I maybe wasn't expecting to claim the Hot Shot title this week grabs it anyway, as Long Way Down, Robert DeLong's new single jumps in at #69. This one might end up outpeaking Global Concepts, which is currently sitting at #49 after four weeks charting. Starset's third offering, Halo enters at #85. It stands a nice chance at hitting Top 10 in a few months. George Ezra's second charter joins at #87. Blame It On Me is annoyingly absent from Spotify in the US but that hasn't hindered its charting chances. It might have a slow climb but it should make it out of the lower regions of the chart. Young Guns probably should have entered last week with I Want Out, but it might have been a lower position and damaged its long term run chances. Cage the Elephant's fifth Melophobia single (and probably final) to chart, Telescope is in at #91. Portugal the Man's 235th charting song (actually the 13th, which is still pretty impressive) is Waves, debuting at #93. The Black Keys just announced their 3rd Turn Blue single, which will probably make an appearance next week. I felt like going back a bit and charting an El Camino cut that I hadn't heard before, so Nova Baby appears at #95. Finally, Yellow Flicker Beat gets a shot at #99. Almost every Lorde track follows the same trajectory for me. I hear it, don't mind it and even like it (in the case of Royals, Tennis Court, Glory and Gore, and this), then it gets played to death on the radio and I slowly shift from casual enjoyment through slightly annoyed indifference and then hatred. Hopefully this doesn't follow the same path, since it's my favorite Lorde track yet. (probably could have said that about the other three though)
I'm Only Joking makes its departure, as well as Elephant, a Tame Impala track with a much weirder run than #3 peaking Feels Like We Only Go Backwards. It peaked at #39 but managed 20 weeks on the chart with a steady and slow climb before it fell off a cliff. Recurrent #1 returns to R U Mine, they've now sat on that chart for 21 weeks and held #1 for 6. Crazy longevity. Bubbling Under #1 is the next Hozier track in line, It Will Come Back. After seven weeks Bubbling Under, it should enter the main chart next week. With only four weeks left in the year, I'm getting pretty hyped for the Year-End festivities. I've now kept this chart up for 44 straight weeks without missing any, so thanks for joining me on the ride! Hope to see you for many weeks to come. • So great to see "Happy Idiot" atop, although I don't like that "Blame" left the Top 10 to be honest. • Keep going "Waves", "Budapest" and "eez-eh" :) • "From Eden" peaked a while ago (#4 if I recall it correctly), so I will only say that a Top 5 peak is really good to see for this. • Hope "Beggin for Thread" and "Everywhere I Go (Kings and Queens)" could climb back. • Good to see "Global Concepts" here, as well as "Till It's Gone" and "A Beginner's Guide to Destroying the Moon". • Although it peaked some time ago, I hope "Take Me to Church" could stay for some more time on your chart. • Nice debuts of "Long Way Down", "Blame It on Me" and "Yellow Flicker Beat". • Hope "Jealous" could enter soon.

Figures the week you choose to comment is the week that the Calvin Harris song starts to drop. I love Blame but it got stuck in the middle of a huge cluster of rising Top 10 songs. Maybe the third Motion single that I have yet to pick will get a shot. Waves, Budapest, and eez-eh won't be slowing down any time soon, and Till It's Gone probably has an outside shot at 10. Jealous is in for sure next week, though the Banks and New Politics songs will probably struggle to regain their positions. Even though Take Me To Church and From Eden are falling, Hozier's album will have many more charting songs in the near future ("Angel of Small Death and the Codeine Scene" might hit Top 10, or just barely miss it and "It Will Come Back" should debut this week.) Thanks for the detailed comment! Happy Idiot on top! Very nice chart You beat me to it by one week! It should remain atop for a few more weeks. Thanks for checking out the chart this week! :)

Maybe the third Motion single that I have yet to pick will get a shot. Well, I'm unpredictable ;) *crossing fingers you could pick either "Faith" or "Pray to God"* Waves, Budapest, and eez-eh won't be slowing down any time soon, and Till It's Gone probably has an outside shot at 10. Jealous is in for sure next week, though the Banks and New Politics songs will probably struggle to regain their positions. So good to know that. Oh! That's great. I need to check Hozier's album though. Thanks for the detailed comment! You're welcome!

Glad to see "Happy Idiot" at number one. I've heard it recently, but I forgot about it. So thanks for bringing it back to my attention. I'm also glad to see "Blame" so high and to see "Uptown Funk" make a large jump. Hopefully it can do really well. Also, I'm glad to see "Waves", "Under Pressure", "Budapest", "Global Concepts" (I'm absolutely in love with this right now, so it might chart - it is kind of old though, so maybe not. Although I really love the fact that it's here. Moving on.), "eez-eh", and "Outside" rising. Anyways, great chart, Webinator! I'll definitely have to check a lot of these out. Also, congrats on your Rock Poster nomination! :)

Also, congrats on your Rock Poster nomination! :) The advantage of my charting rules is that when I find songs that are a little old (or even really old) I can chart them if I've never heard of them. It might make my chart a little "messier" to some but I don't really mind since it reflects the most popular songs of the week for me at that point in time. So I'd say go for charting Global Concepts, but then maybe I'm biased . All of the songs you mentioned are going to do well, other than maybe Outside, since I haven't really decided on a personal 3rd single from Motion yet and I'm not yet sold on that one. Uptown Funk has a decent shot at hitting #1 in the next few weeks, but it's a little early to tell. Thanks! I'm really exited from the PMAs this year despite knowing I'm probably not winning anything. I'm just happy to be nominated in my first year here. Thanks for your comment as always. :) That Frank Turner song is old bust still fresh in my mind. Hadn't heard of Frank Turner until a few months ago when I was looking at old 2012-2013 Alternative chart videos (from before I was paying attention to the charts other than the Hot 100) and happened upon Recovery, Came Back Haunted and Down The Road for the first time, which is why they all just charted recently on my chart despite being so old. Still need to check out some of his older material since I've heard good things.

I just discovered it, so I guess that makes it fair game to chart. Either way, I look forward to "Uptown Funk" rising. You should be! It's going to be great. It's pretty awesome that you were nominated too, especially considering it's for your prime genre and it's your first year of posting. You deserved the nomination. And no problem! :)

Happy Idiot stays atop the chart for a second week, and Right On, Frankenstein remains one slot below, the first time the Top 2 hasn't changed since...two weeks ago. Oh well, the rest of the chart is moving well. Little Monster manages to slide one spot upwards, and becomes the 7th song to last 10 weeks in the Top 10. Clearly its run here isn't done, and it stands a chance at topping Dangerous' 17 week record. Something From Nothing is the first track to reach a new peak, as it moves form #6 to #4. Recovery finally starts to descend, albeit slowly. Every Other Freckle looked to be leaving the Top 10 last week, but surprises this week with a two position recovery to #6. The first new face in the Top 10 is Uptown Funk, the Mark Ronson/Bruno Mars collaboration that is flying up charts everywhere across the globe. It might become the first Pop-leaning #1 since Pharrell's Happy in March. Starset's Carnivore makes a solid move from #10 - #8, preparing for what seems to be long stay in the Top 10. Room To Breathe falls four spots with everyone around it rising. Finally, the other new Top 10 track is the follow-up to the chart's (arguably) biggest hit ever. The Business Of Emotion is Big Data's second single for the album that I really want to see come out but has no info as to a release date, and hasn't gone for Alt adds yet, but I'm already thoroughly enjoying it. Don't expect it to mirror the success of Dangerous (because what song has so far?), but it should have a nice run.
Hot Shot this week is the third radio single from Turn Blue, Weight Of Love. The Black Keys aren't going to have any radio success with the single, but they should have some decent success on this chart. Might beat Fever's peak, but probably not Gotta Get Away's monster run. Close behind is Jealous, the Nick Jonas Top 10 hit that took a bit to grow on me but now I'm really digging it. Might fizzle out quickly, but it won't get swallowed up at the bottom of the chart with a debut at #70. Next up is a ShadyXV track (the only new track from that album that I liked since Till It's Gone was released before the compilation). Another Aphex Twin track joins at #78. minipops 67 [120.2][source field mix] has easily surpassed Mike Doughty's Top 10 WebChart hit as the most annoying song to type out and probably will end up outpeaking Come To Daddy, which is still moving up but struggling a bit in the #50 range. A little further down is Hozier's fourth charting song, It Will Come Back. It spend last week sitting at #1 on the Bubbling Under chart, and now seems to be headed for at least at Top 50 showing, but probably inside the Top 25. Earthquake Driver enters at #93, a Counting Crows track from their 2014 album that I didn't really like all that much on first listen but has grown on me. Scarecrow, the lead single, spent 8 weeks Bubbling Under, peaking at #11 on that chart. This one's managed to make a main chart appearance but I'm still unsure how much higher fate will bring it. New Politics still haven't announced much about their upcoming third LP, Vikings and their lead single has started to fall off so without a second new track I dug back in their discography to bring out New Generation, a track that was set to debut until Everywhere I Go managed to jump in. After six weeks Bubbling Under it debuts at #95. Finally, the follow-up to 2 week #1 Room To Breathe, You Me At Six's second single Forgive and Forget joins at #97.
Dirty White Boots is the Bubbling Under #1, but it might join the short list of songs that hit BU #1 but never made the main chart. A quick listen of his new album Strut left me pretty disappointed. Recurrent #1 goes to the Foos, as Let It Die debuts at the top position. No notable dropouts this week, but very major record news. Dangerous officially claims the longest chart run record alone, spending its 32nd week charting. With its current position at #61, 40 weeks isn't out of the question but time will tell. Only three more weeks left until the Year-End chart is unveiled. Thanks for reading the chart and see you next week! The 20th (and maybe last 2014?) #1 hit is confirmed, as Uptown Funk flies to the #1 position in 4 weeks. This displaces Happy Idiot after a nice two week run. Not sure if there will end up being a second TVOTR single, as the few tracks I've heard from Seeds so far haven't impressed me. I might give it a listen soon because I obviously loved the lead single. Something From Nothing rises another position, though it won't be holding #1 (and I don't think any of the other Sonic Highways tracks will be either, despite my charting of 4 of them currently). Carnivore is Uptown Funk's biggest challenger, rising four positions with a strong resurgence in airplay. Right On, Frankenstein is the biggest casualty in the Top 10 this week, falling three positions to make way for stronger contenders. Little Monster is out of the Top 5 for the first time since October 8th. It's spent 11 weeks in the Top 10, which is the T-5th longest run ever, and probably still has more juice in its run. Recovery falls to 7th, its resume holding 8 weeks in the Top 10. The Business Of Emotion is benefiting from a weak bottom half of the Top 10 and rises to 8th. Every song through 5th position is falling so a higher peak is likely in its future. Every Other Freckle has now tied After the Disco for 2nd longest Top 10 run, spending its 13th week in the top section. It might grab 14, but the 17 week record by Dangerous is probably out of reach. Finally, the only new entry is Trent Reznor's second appearance. Only, from the 2005 album With Teeth sneaks into the Top 10 and knocks out Room To Breathe. Expect two new entries to this group next week.
Nine Inch Nails grab the Hot Shot Debut as well as a new Top 10 placing, as Every Day Is Exactly The Same joins at #59. All three of the With Teeth singles have now charted, and expect more NiN tracks down the pipeline for future weeks. Max Frost released a new track that I had no idea about; after charting three tracks from the EP not sure how I missed it. Either way, Paranoia gets a favorable debut at #73. Another classic (or at least mid 2000's) track, The Blower's Daughter from Damien Rice enters at #78. Imagine Dragons dropped their second track from their sophomore debut, Gold. The release was on the day I updated the chart and it made enough of an impact on me to hit #82 this week. I like it better than I Bet My Life, though that track has now started to grow on me and I might end up giving it a chart slot as early as next week. Portugal. The Man make a new appearance with Church Mouth, the opener from their second album making an entry. Heard these guys are going into the studio for their next LP, which is good news so I'll never run out of PtM tracks to have charting. Chevelle's third single, An Island is in at #90, I loved Take Out the Gunman (#15 peak) but didn't enjoy Hunter Eats Hunter (#3 BU peak), so this third single took a bit to force its way onto my radar and earn a charting position after the 2nd single letdown. The last three debuts all Bubbled Under last week and may have to fight to earn higher peaks on the chart. Locked In A Cage is not the current Brick + Mortar single, but it's better so that's why it's charting. Congregation has to fight at #96 debut slot and the fact that it's the fourth Sonic Highways track to chart while all are still rising, so it might have to wait for a peak. Finally, Billy Idol's new album brought forth Can't Break Me Down, which joins at #99.
Three Top 10 singles fell off, Gotta Get Away, These Days, and Sleep Forever the victims. The Bubbling Under #1 remains Dirty White Boots. Multiple weeks at #1 definitely reduces chances of future main chart appearances, so it's not looking good for Lenny. The Recurrent #1 is Say Goodbye, which I've been playing a lot recently. With only two more weeks until the year-end charts for me, the hype is building. Thanks for checking out the chart this week and I'll see you for the penultimate 2014 chart next week!

So glad to see "Uptown Funk" at number one. It's just so good. Sad to see "Happy Idiot" dethroned, but the fact that "Funk" knocked it off is awesome. Still rooting for "The Business Of Emotion" & "Under Pressure", as well as "Waves", "Global Concepts", "Long Way Down", "Budapest", "Weight Of Love", "Jealous", "Yellow Flicker Beat" and "i". Great chart, Webinator! :)

Great chart, Webinator! :) Uptown Funk might contest for the longest run at #1 record (5 weeks). Under Pressure might hit #1, and while the second Big Data single probably won't, it has a cozy run in the Top 10 ahead. Most of the songs you listed are going to do well, both of the Robert DeLong tracks should find their way into the Top 10, and Weight of Love and Jealous probably have a chance to do the same in the future. Thanks for your comments every week and for being my most loyal chart follower. :)

Uptown Funk holds strong at #1 for a second week, this song feels like one of the rare tracks that I will never get sick of, regardless of how many times I play it or hear it on the radio. It's a phenomenal record that I really want to rise to #1 on the Hot 100 (though I want Take Me To Church to grab a week too even though that seems unlikely. really anything but Blank Space is fine). Carnivore makes a convincing move, jumping from #4 -> #2. It's going to be a tough call whether this will grab a week at #1 or not, it would have taken out weaker candidates easily but Mark and Bruno are probably still gaining if I had a points system/bullet. Something From Nothing sticks at #3, most likely the peak for the track despite its debut being the second highest ever. I've noticed high debuts on the chart don't really translate to #1 peaks in the future, as only one of the Top 10 highest debuts has reached that summit (that's After the Disco, which also happens to hold the record for highest ever debut at #29.). Maybe it's early burnout from overplay that leads to so many disappointments, but it's an odd pattern I just found recently. Happy Idiot moves to #4 but has several weeks left in its Top 10 life. Little Monster experiences another rebound, this week from #6 -> #5. It spends its 12th week in the Top 10, good for T-4th all-time. If it hangs in two more weeks it can latch on to a solo 2nd place ( Dangerous is a little farther ahead with 17 weeks), but regardless of the final outcome it's an impressive run. A big jump into the Top 10 comes from Milky Chance, with Stunner rising from #14 -> #6. Despite how much I love the song, Stolen Dance's peak was in December 2013 before I started my chart, so it never hit the Top 10 and peaked at #21. Due to this, Stunner is the first Top 10 single from Milky Chance, and should have a strong showing in the Top 10. The Business Of Emotion steals another positive position, now moving to #7. Right On, Frankenstein surrenders three positions down to #8. Logic's nine-minute title track (because the radio edit isn't as good) Under Pressure is the other new Top 10 entry, sliding to #9. It's future is now uncertain but it shouldn't be falling for a little while. Finally, Only fends off other challengers and holds at #10. Out of the new crop of songs, there weren't any huge standouts. In fact, the Hot Shot Debut of #72 is the lowest since Kanye's Jesus Walks moved in at #74 in the third week of the chart. Five Of Everything from 311 is the track that gets the honors, for some reason when I heard it a few times back in its charting heyday it didn't really do anything for me, but a few listens recently and I'm loving it. So expect it to have a nice chart life, especially with the lack of a challenge from the other debuting tracks this week. Another PtM track from Church Mouth, their 2nd LP, enters at #77. The Bottom should enjoy a quick rise in its first few weeks before truly finding its peak. The new Modest Mouse single, Lampshades On Fire debuts at #82 after Bubbling Under at #109 last week. I caught it late so didn't have time to form a full opinion other than I liked it. It should do well in the coming weeks. An old track from a band I had heard of but never actually listened to, Porcupine Tree's Blackest Eyes debuts at #85. The heavy -> melodic transitions in the song are really smooth, and it's getting me excited to dive deeper into their material. Smooth Sailing is doing well right outside the Top 10, but another Queens of the Stone Age track joins this week, If I Had A Tail at #88. It's the first debut so far that might not have immediate success, but once the current single starts to fall it should start to rise. After eight weeks Bubbling Under and a lot of indecision, I Bet My Life has finally grown on me to earn a debut. It's in at #93 and I'm really not sure where it's headed. Gold should continue to do well but this one still hasn't fully clicked. I've turned the corner though (I think) so maybe it can have a strong peak down the line. Spoon's third track from They Want My Soul joins at #96, Knock Knock Knock the selection. I haven't really gotten into Inside Out, the second radio single, so I debuted this instead. Finally, a little late but it got some play this week, The Devil In I is in at #98. It probably won't peak highly but I felt the spins it's gotten recently deserved a main chart placing. Dirty White Boots spends a third week Bubbling Under at #1, and probably isn't going to debut on the main chart. No song has held that BU #1 slot for more than three weeks, so maybe that's a record to strive for? Say Goodbye stays atop the recurrent chart despite two debuts in the Top 5 and Sleep Forever rising to challenge. Chromeo's Jealous (I Ain't With It) and Foals' Inhaler both drop off after having Top 10 peaks, but other than that no notable songs exit. After next week after the final chart of 2014 is posted I'll be starting with my year-end countdowns, both the Top 100 Songs and Top 25 Artists will be featured. I've done some renovating in the OP of the thread, but everything will be posted in here. I find it's easier to keep track of all of my chart-related stuff in one thread, so that's where you can expect to find all of the excitement come January. Thanks for reading! Oh! Great to see the two Robert DeLong songs in the Top 20. Also, "Uptown Funk" is atop and TV on the Radio is in the Top 5. Moreover, songs from Mr. Probz, Hozier, George Ezra, Kasabian, Calvin Harris, Yelawolf, Banks, Kongos, Imagine Dragons, among others, are here too.

Uptown Funk should clock in a few more weeks at #1, and Waves might be able to reach the Top 10. Jealous still has a while to climb though. Thanks for checking out the chart and all of your comments throughout the year! Oh! Great to see the two Robert DeLong songs in the Top 20. Long Way Down probably will hit #1 in the future, it might have to wait a bit though since Uptown Funk is still going strong. Many of those tracks you mentioned will continue to do well. Thanks for following the chart through the year and leaving these awesome comments!

Uptown Funk closes out the year with its third week at #1. It's the ninth track to crack that milestone, though only three of the nine have lasted another week. It's going to be a tough call whether Mark and Bruno will be able to last, as Starset's Carnivore is closing in fast. It's easily the most played track of the past week, and has the momentum to capture #1. Starset would then join chart favorites Portugal. The Man as the only group with two #1's, but the battle is so close that it's nearly impossible to tell. Something From Nothing holds at #3, which marks the first week since July 16th where the Top 3 have been stationary (for those curious, Take Me To Church, Dangerous, and White Lies were the dynamic trio). Milky Chance's Stunner is the first track to move, and jumps two positions to #4. Along with Under Pressure (#9 > #5) and The Business Of Emotion (#7 > #6), there are quite a few tracks waiting to make some changes in the top few positions of the chart, but there is a big gap to overcome. Little Monster hangs around in the Top 10 for its 13th week, T-2nd all-time. Happy Idiot falls four positions, mostly due to strong competition and not as much to do with decreased airplay. Only won't be making the Top 5, but peaking one position higher is always nice, this week grabbing the #9 position. Finally, the only new entry for the week is Robert DeLong's Long Way Down. Off of his new EP and gaining decently on Alternative radio, it really lodged itself in my brain over the past month and stands a chance at #1 in a month or so. The top debut this week is a bit of an oddity. I thought that Bad Habit from the Kooks had entered my chart ~4 weeks ago after a small stint on the Bubbling Under chart, and was slowly climbing through the ranks, up to maybe #50 this week. Apparently I dreamed that all up, as I hadn't charted it or even placed it on the BU chart, so it gets a strong #56 slot this week. Interesting how the brain works. Second track in is an older cut from Groove Armada. Hands Of Time is in at #68, following My Friend, which peaked at #51 on the chart's first week (would have been higher earlier). Expect at least a Top 30 performance. Currently the highest ranked song named Dangerous doesn't belong to Big Data, as David Guetta's single enters at #75. This one might have a quick burnout but it's been played a lot recently and deserved the spot. It won't spend 35+ weeks on the chart and 5 weeks at #1 though, so that's a loss. Another track from This Is All Yours joins up at #84, as the bonus track Lovely Day debuts. Tom Petty gets a surprising debut, as Forgotten Man appears at #87. This might be another quick burner but an entry is impressive regardless. Rise Against had a strange run with I Don't Want To Be Here Anymore, still the main chart's only re-entry in the 48 week history. Tragedy + Time now enters at #94, I'm still not completely sold on it as a big hit, but the track is good as is most of the new album. Finally, in the slightly Industrial vein my chart has leaned in the past months, Lie from Black Light Burns is in at #98 after a handful of weeks Bubbling Under. Bubbling Under #1 goes to the third Bad Suns track to chart anywhere We Move Like The Ocean. Recurrent #1 moves to Sleep Forever from Portugal. The Man, which may have dropped out a week or two early but maybe this can make up a bit. Now it's time for the important news. The 100 top songs of the year are now finalized, and I'm working on finishing up the Top 25 artists. Look out for a megapost in the thread soon where I'll have all of the information listed along with the rollout of the winners. -Webinator's Top 100-|2015| 2014 Year-End Charts! Welcome to the official year-end festivities for my chart in 2014! 2014 was a pretty terrible year that got progressively better for me and now 2015 is looking pretty good. But the best thing that helped me get out of the rough patches of the year was going over the Pulse and talking about music, creating my chart, and listening to music and expanding my musical boundaries exponentially further than I had in past years. Thanks to everyone for watching the chart over the past year, especially to Zeebz Juan Carlos and surfy for regularly commenting and leaving their feedback. I promise I'm not going to stretch this out too long, but my goal is to post once every day or so with an update, I'll cover the Top 25 artists in bunches of 5, and the Top 100 songs in batches of 10. Sound pretty simple? All of the calculations are finished, it's just time to reveal the results. So thanks again to anyone who helped me out here over my first year (hopefully of many) at Pulse and I hope you have a happy new year! Top 100 Songs | Song | Artist | | Dangerous | Big Data ft. Concerning your most recent chart, I'm glad to see the continued success of "Uptown Funk" and the rest of my favorites that I've previously mentioned. Also, it's great to see "Bad Habit" (I've been getting into this lately myself), "Dangerous", and "Lovely Day" debut. I hope "Hurt" and "St. Patrick" can debut as well. "Hurt" is such a classic. I absolutely adore it.
Now, about your year end chart. Thanks for the shoutout! I'm glad to leave my feedback. Your chart is one of my favorites on the entire board. Seriously. It's a great way to find quality alternative tracks that I wouldn't have discovered otherwise. I'm definitely looking forward to your year end chart. I'll have to listen to what I don't know. Love the formatting, by the way.
