I don't like this song at all. It's moving up the charts fast, It's AVICII without the dance beats.

What a waste of a German band. What, you expected kraut rock or the second coming of the Scorpions? ???

What a waste of a German band. You read "German" and were expecting 90's skinhead metal? You do realize that tech house and minimal electronic are THE "in" sounds in Germany now, right? That goes for the "alternative" community there especially. Of course an emerging German band may be influenced by that scene. Cheers to Milky Chance for finding a way to authentically incorporate the sounds of Berlin's underground with their own folk/rock style and a killer pop chorus. A brilliant way to score a universal hit that appeals to their OWN market; it's literally where "hip factor" and "safely commercial" intersect in today's Germany. The fact that it went on to do so well in other European markets, then Australia, and now most likely the US just speaks to its quality and its mass appeal.

That's like saying all Norwegian bands are black metal. Come on now.

What a waste of a German band. You read "German" and were expecting 90's skinhead metal? I'm not really sure where anyone got me wanting all German bands to be kraut rock, skinhead metal, or the Scorpions from. I'm primarily disappointed in this song because I'm used to German music being innovative, electronic and "full" sounding and in my opinion, this song is anything but. This sounds like someone gasping for air while strumming a ukelele.

While I don't like the song, just because one area is associated with a genre doesn't mean everything popular from there has to be that genre.

I didn't say that everything from Germany (or any country) had to be associated with one genre. I mentioned electronic to refer more to a sound than a genre, and even without it I don't think this song sounds full, innovative, or even good.

This will do well in pop too. Same with Riptide.

This needs to blow up already. In a perfect world, this would be a multi-format smash.

This has grown on me, but I still don't see this doing anything outside of Alternative and Triple A. Some of you are saying it could smash on Pop, but I don't see it. I still believe "Riptide" could smash on Pop though.

I believe both this and "Riptide" will do great on pop. "Budapest" will eventually get its time to shine as well.

So this is still exploding. 2nd biggest gainer at alt (and first is the new alt-J song, which launched less than a week ago) and #14 on the alternative airplay chart. It also recently cracked the Top 100 on iTunes (currently #92).

Still exploding? It really never was, it's just getting started now. I really think this will go #1 here in the next 4 to 5 weeks, will be one of the biggest hits on Top 40\Hot AC to finish up the year. I look forward to watching this go.

Is there a radio edit for this? Or are Alternative stations playing all 5+ minutes of it?

I honestly have no idea how the bullet is 300+ for this. The guy's voice, the acoustic guitar, and the beat just sounds really monotonous almost the way through, with the exception of the chorus.
It's not horrible, but I find the chorus annoying, because he fails to sing higher notes effectively.

Guys, don't kill me, but his voice in the verses reminds me of...50 Cent. It makes it impossible for me to listen to this.

This whole song is so monotonous and goes nowhere.
Still in the upper half of the indie on the chart now though,
