Catchy, but it's not very striking melodically.

I heard this for the first time while running last night. I can't remember hearing a song that is written about another song, then having that same song sampled inside of it. I like the song, and I love "Amazed" and Richie/Lonestar, but the sampled part is kind of a disaster.

Well over six months since this was first released on Sirius/XM's The Highway, "Just Another Love Song" will now officially get pushed to terrestrial radio as New Revolution has picked up the promotion for this single. The official add date is November 17th.

They really should release a radio edit that doesn't include the Lonestar song cutting into the final chorus. I've always thought that seemed a bit distracting even if it does add a well-known name to the song.

Ah, but there is a radio edit. ;) Hopefully it's a version without Richie McDonald's part which I too feel just doesn't work at all.

I think it would be great to have in the song, without background singing. Or maybe cut that part in half as a bridge to the final chorus? I love the Amazed part, and really hammers home the rest of the song and great job writing "a song about a relationship about a song". I really hope this does well, but yeah the full Amazed chorus is kind of out of place on this.

I agree that the inclusion of "Amazed" is really distracting and unnecessary. On first listen I don't particularly care for the song regardless, but that takes it down a notch or two in my eyes.

I don't quite know how the edited version sent to radio is any different from the original, as Richie McDonald's part has been left in according to All Access

It is. Nothing different as far as I know. The songwriter credits include "Amazed" writers and Richie cowrote the song too.

Agree the "Amazed" part is awkward. I think the song would be better without it.
On another note, has anyone heard their version of The Proclaimers "500 Miles" on Sirius XM The Highway??? It is all kinds of bad. My ears could not take it!

I'm just not a fan of this song or this new duo. But that's just my opinion. Not very memorable at all. They must have a financial backer, since it's being pushed big time; but it's an utter train wreck in my opinion and money wasted. Call me too harsh, but again, just my humble opinion. Maybe their other songs are better, I just don't think this is a strong one to jump out of the gate with

I don't love this but I'm glad it charted cause I'm hoping New Revolution can stay in business, I think they're good for the industry, and seeing them chart more and more tunes is a good thing.

Since New Revolution has no actual artists and functions as a promo team for indies (and supplements majors on secondary, just like Jerry Duncan does on the music row charts), they're fine. They got Big & Rich in the Top 10.

There are many occasions where it only gets the song into the top 50 or so (or even just cracking the top 60 like Haley & Michales here) but every now and then they pull off a great chart run like "Look At You" or "Home Sweet Home" by The Farm which did use New Revolution for promotion on that song and "Be Grateful".

I'm surprised I'm just now hearing about New Revolution to be honest. How much do they run per month for Radio Promo though? 20K to 30K? I remember when Gator Michaels started Instigator a couple years back, he was asking 20K per month! That's a sad part of our business however, that it cost SOOOOO much for Radio Promotion if you want to try your hand at the bigger markets (Mediabse & Billboard stations). That's why so many indie acts are stuck doing MusicRow or the Texas chart because it's just not affordable going the other route (and even MusicRow, if you get GOOD promotions behind you isn't exactly cheap). Best have DEEP DEEP pockets if you want to try having success as an artist and even then it's still not guaranteed! Katie Armiger is an example of that.... she's had better success than most, but has she ever had a really big Top 30 hit on her hands? Nope and Pete at Cold River has forked out over 10 million into her career already.

Nope and Pete at Cold River has forked out over 10 million into her career already. I don't know the exact numbers but I would think it'd be at least 15k to 20k or so, but again I'm just speculating - I really have no clue to the amount. The bummer is that it's no guarantee that your song will take off either. For many indie artists, it's a cost vs. reward factor which is the reason many chose to venture in the Musicrow chart. Big & Rich are much better off financially then many of the independent label artists too so they obviously saw an opportunity to go independent and leave Warner Bros.. Many don't have that luxury. If your Shannon Haley and Ryan Michaels, you and your people have to make a decision as to hiring a promotion team like New Revolution is worth the cost, since I'm sure they know that a top 50 peak is about the limit here. Every situation is different though and New Revolution does do a very good job at radio. As for Katie, Cold River is perfectly content at the moment to let her record her music even with little chart success. I'm sure they think that one of here singles these days can gain some traction to get top 30 but as you said, they have the money so they do with it as they wish.

Katie and Cold River is a complete passion play by Pete. He's made a ton of $ developing/inventing things for practical uses in the healthcare field. It's not unlike Black River Entertainment's owners (The Pegula's) or Broken Bow Records. If Pete wanted to, he could have a bigger staff and label office in Nashville for Katie and other artists. Katie is still in her early 20s so her days of hits could definitely still be ahead of her.
