Thanks, Kurt. Glad to see Warner Bros./Sea Gayle/whatever is giving Sheryl Crow another chance.

Brilliant. I'm cautiously optimistic about this single.

Very happy to see that they're releasing another single, even though "Shotgun" would be far from one of my first picks. That said, it is one of the more radio-friendly, "safer" options, so I can certainly get behind them choosing this. And even though it's not one of my favorites on Feels Like Home, this is still a very good song. Not sure how to expect this to do, since I though "Callin' Me When I'm Lonely" would surely reach Top 20, but I do feel like this one has a decent shot at making it there.

I just think this sounds really awesome! I can see this doing very, very well. I hope she can break out on radio with this song. This song just feels pretty darn fresh and i can already see it being one of my favorites heading to radio!

I really don't care for this song. It just doesn't fit her voice and it'll be one of those songs where I turn the station when it comes on. I liked Easy and some her rock/ pop stuff but this song is just stale.

Well, I absolutely love this song! I also thought Callin' Me would've done better, so let's see what this one will do.

I'm really happy that Sheryl is getting another single. This is probably my least favourite song on the album, so I'm not thrilled about the choice, but I could see it doing reasonably well. I hope she's able to turn it into somewhat of a hit.

This is my first time listening to the song and I really like it! Hopefully this gives her a hit especially when Calling Me didn't really go anywhere.
I think it's perfect for the summer.

She got Top 30 with the single and Top 20 with the first one. IF she continues to do that, she should be fine (and be one of the Top 5 played females). That being said, this one's her most 'Sheryl Crow' like song on the album so it can and should do better than Top 20.

Debuts at #53. I hope Warner Bros. can get Sheryl Crow into the top ten.

Debuts at #53. I hope Warner Bros. can get Sheryl Crow into the top ten. A decent debut, but this song only received 71 plays on Billboard last week. And today was its adds date, and it only got 14 adds on Mediabase. Those aren't very good numbers. It's obviously still very early so she can turn it around yet, but I'm just not convinced this'll do much more than top 40, unfortunately.

I like this song a lot (the entire album is strong, actually), but I still think "Waterproof Mascara" is the glory song that could bust open the gates for Crow and actually get her a sizable solo breakthrough.

Of course, if a man sang this, it'd be Top 5. Hope it gets some traction.

I think "Waterproof Mascara" is too traditional and slow for country radio today, sadly. I personally prefer "Homecoming Queen" but that one is also too deep and too country imo to be played with what they're playing now, sadly. Carrie or Miranda could put it out no problem, but those are the only two women who'd be able to get away with it right now.

IDK. I'll remain optimistic that it could actually achieve some sort of success. That would first mean that it gets released, though, which is something else that I'd have to remain optimistic for, too. I understand what you (both) are saying, though.

It's too slow, it's too traditional. It's really as simple as that :/

This fell off the chart this week and seeing as this had basically been going nowhere since its release, I'm guessing it's officially done. I knew her momentum wouldn't be too hot going into this release, but I didn't expect "Shotgun" to completely bomb the way it did. It's very radio friendly just like her last two. What a shame.

I hope it's not done, but you could definitely be right.
Like I said when it was first released, this definitely wouldn't have been my choice, but I also didn't expect it to do this poorly. Such a shame.

I'm not surprised in the slightest to be quite honest. Sheryl had zero momentum after barely cracking top 30 on MB with "Calling Me When I'm Lonely" and only having a top 20 peak last year for "Easy". There was just way too many other new singles from newcomers for PD's to direct their attention to along with the usual influx of new music this summer from the mega stars. I won't say they shouldn't have released this because Sheryl is not in a life and death basis with her singles anymore because she clearly has had plenty of success in multiple genres, but I'm sure Warner thought there was a good chance of this song performing poorly and they decided to take a stab with the chance this might get top 40 or higher.

I'm not too surprised either, though I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed. Still, I'm glad they at least tried a third single as well; they really had nothing to lose in doing so. It's a real shame her singles from this record did poorly on the whole considering Feels Like Home is not only a great album imo, but yields multiple radio-friendly tracks. But her chart trajectory with her singles it pretty much on par with the trends of female artists we've seen lately in terms of how their singles peak in a given era (Jana's first three singles, Kacey's first three singles, etc.).
