My favorite from his album and one of the few uptempo songs on it.

This is definitely my favorite song (and likely only takeaway) from Sam's debut album. It's very early 90's imo (reminds me "Power of Love" by Luther Vandross meets "Faithful" by Go West meets Jon Secada's entire discography, but @jazzysoul47 will likely disagree here). Anyway, catchy as hell and a nice nostalgic moment. www.hillydilly.com/2014/05/sam-smith-in-the-lonely-hour/

This or "Like I Can" better be the next single. If Capitol decides to release another downtempo after this, they would struggle for another hit. I don't have doubts with "I'm Not The Only One" being a Top 10 hit (not as big as "Stay With Me" though), but if they release an uptempo next, it could hit very high with Sam Smith's buzz being pretty high right now.
I like "Like I Can" a little more than this, but I really like both of them and either would be a great single choice.

Love this. Reminds me of Robin Thicke.
