the instrumentals have grown on me a little, the lyrics...not so much. they're still keeping me from ever wanting to listen to this song on my own time.

Any idea of when they're going to put up a track list for "Everything Will Be Alright At The End"? Should have done it by now but we kind of know how Weezer is with their track record of promoting things.

I don't know where they're going with those black and white videos because it doesn't really match anything about BTTS or any other song for that matter. If they're going back to their "roots" then they aren't doing a very good job at it. No songs like "Say It Ain't So" or "Undone" or "Buddy Holly" either, all I hear is a very dark album. Nothing real peppy like "Pork and Beans" was.

Not complately a reliable source but ,this looks like it. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Everything_Will_Be_Alright_in_the_Endmakes you wonder where the Ric Ocasek influence is gonna show up. basing that on the youtube vid clips but I don't hear that 100% Ocasek pop influence. maybe once I listen to the whole cd?

This is way better than "Memories" as a first single.

I had a feeling Weezer - "Back To The Shack" would be a quick top 10 single and just as both Jack White and Bastille are desending. watch for it to go top 5 in a few weeks more.

Allready at number 8. For me the best song in the Alt top 10 right now.

As much discussion is made about established bands making top 10 on Alt, the only songs in the top ten that I don't like besides Alt-J are from established bands.

Another? What was the other I was referring to the ones that hit the Top 10 earlier this year, not just at the moment, so I was referring to Pearl Jam, Linkin Park, and I'd even put Jack White in that category. Other than that one fluke Raconteurs song has Jack White ever released anything musical let alone catchy or that even has a hook for that matter?

That guitar riff is a legendary hook that I'm sure many people play as one of their first pickings on guitar.

Wasn't even a hit in Canada, which usually happily accepts any half-baked American musical import. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seven_Nation_ArmyTheir biggest hit globally was "Blue Orchid" which I'm pretty sure I never heard. and in the US was "Icky Thump" which was icky, and thus appropriately named.

I even remember complaining about hearing it all the time on the radio, lol.

Ah, that's on Wikipedia then. Their chart summaries aren't always correct.

Ah, that's on Wikipedia then. Their chart summaries aren't always correct. Canadian charts are an anomaly, I don't even know where to begin to find that out. But it was #2 on the Edge's Top 102 of 2003 and at the top of most rock station's year-end charts.

Ah, that's on Wikipedia then. Their chart summaries aren't always correct. You're underestimating how massive "Seven Nation Army" was, and still is. It still gets quite a bit of airplay for an alternative song that old, along the same lines as the big Foo Fighters, Linkin Park, Weezer, and Blink 182 hits for example. Most casual alternative listeners would recognize at least a handful of White Stripes songs. "Fell In Love With A Girl", "Seven Nation Army", and "Icky Thump" at the very least, and I'd wager they'd even be able to say they recognize "Blue Orchid" and "The Denial Twist" if they heard them.

It's a modern classic. Back on topic, excited for new Weezer, bummed the album was pushed back a week. I wonder what last minute changes caused the delay.

Primarily "Icky Thump", "Blue Orchid", and the aforementioned "Seven Nation Army".

"Fell In Love With A Girl" and "Blue Orchid" are my prefered songs from White Stripes. Alot of cd cits that didn't get airplay are also pretty good.

Looks like that BTTS is going to peak at #6 on Mediabase as the spin total has gradually went down every day this week. Coldplay's "Sky Full of Stars" has overtaken BTTS at #5. Shame that BTTS would peak 5 weeks before the new album is released.
I don't even believe that Weezer will even release a 2nd single from EWBAITE either because I feel that this album will be darker in tone by the song titles listed. People are more interested in happy songs like "Come With Me Now" than an autobiographical song on Alt Radio.

Its spin count keeps increasing each day, so while it could potentially peak here (as the songs above it have higher spins) it definitely has a chance at getting higher. It's only been on the chart for like 6 weeks, so it has a lot of life left. If it does peak here, it could spend a lot of time where it is.

they'll release a second single, BTTS hit Top 10 and they've had a successful Alt history. Whether that single will do well, I'm not sure based on having no idea what the album will sound like. But to not release a second single just seems silly. Songs like Stolen Dance, Do I Wanna Know, Bad Blood, etc. have Dark tones and have all hit Top 3 or higher so I don't think just having a dark tone will keep the album from being successful.

I came here expecting chatter on Weezer, and apparently someone hasn't heard one of the defining rock songs of the 2000s.
This is such a pity.
