Boo. I preferred Something Big but I guess this could work better for the winter.

It didn't do anything its first run, doubt it'll do anything its second. Really bizarre they're repushing this when most people have said this is a snoozer, where "Something Big" was okay (from what I remember). This might work better for the winter, but still doubtful it does anything.

Didn't this already have an official impact? I don't understand the thought process here. Do they really think that "Something Big" - with its peak in the 600 spin range - gave him the momentum to do better this time?
Just record something new.

Really bizarre they're repushing this when most people have said this is a snoozer, where "Something Big" was okay (from what I remember). This might work better for the winter, but still doubtful it does anything. For a repushing there must be a first push, and that wasn't the case. Yes this had an adds date, and it was almost top 50, but that was on the tails of the song popularity, nothing more. This was not intended to be released to radio, it was because the song was popular, it peaked at 25 on the hot 100 only with sales. Maybe it's the fact that the song got top 10 on Canada, or the lack of more suitable songs, with labels you never know, but with some promotion and a video this should do at least as a Austin Mahone song And yes, most people here said it was a snoozer, but another look at All about that bass first pages will show how opinions change in this forum (or how little significative they are for the success of a song) And let's be clear, he has absolutely nothing to lose. Yes, it would be better to have a hit before the release of his first album, but if this doesn't work it won't be a tragedy either. They are releasing this because the song was really popular (of course not in this forum) and it sold well without any effort, so maybe they think (with reason or not) that it will work if they really try this time It's good to remember than this is around 250 on itunes without airplay

Still a weird decision considering its buzz is practically gone at this point (it's done in Canada right now right?).

Yes, but Something big is not working and this is still around 250 on itunes (which is a lot for a song without airplay). Yes, the odds are against it, in fact he has a lot of things against him, because the teen market is totally covered by OD, and radio is always reluctant to play new artist that not came in traditional ways (talent shows or internet fame). The fact that this song has a less teen sound is in fact good (and it's a far better song), but they should really put the effort when it came the first time.
Anyway, it won't be the first time that a second run do better than the first

The song is top 100 again on itunes. If the label really want this to happen they should make a video, because in my opinion the song sold incredibly well for a song without airplay support. I still think this could be his best oportunity to establish himself as a different artist (in comparision with other teen acts) and it's obvious people like the song. Maybe doing some radio promo would help too

God Shawn Mendes is so overrated. I couldn't even hear him sing (which isn't a bad thing) when I saw him at Jingle Ball. He needs to wait a few years for his voice to mature. The only time I listen to his music is to parody him lol.

The only time I listen to his music is to parody him lol. But labels don't want mature voices (Alison Iraheta had tons of problems because her voice didn't suit her age), they want nice guys with a clean image with a nice voice (better if it's not a deep voice). Shawn at least has some talent, he is able to sing and he plays instruments. He is not a totally fabricated product. It'll be worrisome when he starts to wear leather sweatpants and made sugestive dance routines. And of course his career will be doomed when he started to date a disney girl or a girlband member. If they are going to be (and they probably will do) the cliche routine of promoting the artist with a good fake relationship, i hope they will chose someone different than the usual unknown model Till now he is a very profitable artist, his ep sold well, Life of the party sales were big (and he is able to score number one on itunes with buzz singles) whithout even make a big effort on promo. Anyway, if they really want him to establish on radio, they need to move their asses and promote him the right way. If he is indeed talented, not having big hits won't be a problem in the long run, but some decent hit and radio presence will make way easier to break big in the future.

Well zero adds this week. Frankly i can't see why they released this again if they were going to do exactly the same that the first time, giving an adds day and nothing more. No video, no promo on radio, no promo on tv. If the song didn't went top 50 the first time when it was hot and selling really well, there's no reason to expect to do better this time.
The guy has clearly a good bunch of fans, but if they want to establish him on radio they need to do way better than they are doing.
