don't mind this at #1, like it better than Cigarette Daydreams and I Bet My Life, which are the only two songs that would have occupied the slot if it didn't exist. It should hold it for a while since I don't see Modest Mouse (or anything else in the current Top 10)grabbing #1. Might have to wait until AWOLNATION or Death Cab figure out where their peaks are.
My guess is minimum 4 weeks, probably longer.

Top 50 - CHR
62 50 WALK THE MOON Shut Up And Dance 440 185 255 2.687
Hopefully this and "I Bet My Life" can can indie-pop back on CHR. Some justice for the likes of Big Data and Bleachers who were wrongfully snubbed for whatever reason in 2014.

I'd rather this than "I Bet My Life" considering this is actually a good song. Maybe if "Shots" could come and big a big hit for Imagine Dragons.

Because if so they'll never get a pop hit again, and you can forget about s "Shots". Single-to-single momentum is such a bigger force on CHR than pure song quality. Besides, would you rather see the likes of Iggly aFAILea and Meghan All About That Bass succeed while an actual talented group like ID flops and dies?

If they keep releasing songs like "I Bet My Life", then yeah. I think "Shots" has better potential so if "I Bet My Life" haaaaas to be a hit then hopefully "Shots" can just overshadow it and "I Bet My Life" can get forgotten in the annals of ID history as a mere misstep.

Iggy's "Fancy" song, cuz of Chalie XCX, was not that bad, but Meghan takes the cake for most annoying vocals yet. Imagine Dragons "Shots" sounds like a winner. "I Bet My Life" was a bad "Bet" from day one. I still don't concider it one of thier stronger singles, cuz it shoulda gone ,at least gone Top 10 on HOT AC by now. Imagine Dragons are not gonna die any time soon, but don't bet on Mainstream Pop listeners to keep them in the limelight. They are not very loyal and are usually just looking for the next quick fix. Need I remind you of "#SELFIE", crap from 2014?. As you can see the mainstream Pop charts have pretty much snubbed "I Bet My Life". Just like they did to Lorde's latest single. To be honest I havn't really heard "I Bet My Life" on 91x either, since it first start making impact. I say; if you like the song, stick with it. Screw the charts. They don't always get it right.

After all the complaining about nearly every top 10 or 20 alternative song during the past two years, I don't get why no one is complaining about this being on alternative. This is more of a pop song than any of the others.
I'm not saying that it is a bad song- I'm just saying that if all the other songs shouldn't be charting on alternative, then neither should this.

^I partially agree with you, this is definitely a poppier #1. However I think the reason is Walk The Moon had a successful album and single on Alternative already, whereas most of the complaining was about new Alternative acts knocking out old format standbys. Could be wrong on that though, that's just what I observed.

So happy that they managed to score another hit. It was looking grim for a while there.
Love this so much.

I attended a dance last night for my business convention, and towards the end he busted out this. Highlight of the night has to be grinding on this incredibly hot girl during the guitar solo.
Side note: it also appears that I was the only male who knew the words. Lots of the girls did. Does this band really have that big a pull withim teen girls?

Its doing allright on The mainstream Pop chart, I guess. It will do as well as you'd expect a Indie Rock/Pop song to do on mainstream Pop charts, but I believe the majorraty of that audience still prefer thier Novalty and EDM music.

#21 on the Hot 100! I think this is going to be a certain Top 10 hit on the Hot 100. I'm still keeping my prediction that it goes #1.

Didn't know this was blowing up on multiple formats. Good for this song!
This might be the first Alternative-to-Pop crossover I've liked since "Radioactive" and "Demons".
Wait, "Centuries" was also a multi-format smash, right?

I guess I've liked more crossovers than I imagined. (Although, whenever Alternative-to-Pop crossover comes to mind, I immediately think of "Stolen Dance", "Riptide", "Take Me to Church", "Ho Hey", etc. etc. AKA all the bad ones, lol).

Top 10 - Hot AC (Tomorrow)
9 10 HOZIER Take Me To Sleep 3647 4198 -551 22.78 12 11 WALK THE MOON Shut Up And Dance 3605 3118 487 22.332
Top 30 - CHR
32 26 WALK THE MOON Shut Up And Dance 2465 1812 653 15.13
"Work This Body" is the next most played track on Spotify, it's extremely catchy, and it also has multi-format appeal. I think it'll be either that or "Different Colors", either one works.

Alt Nation is spinning "Different Colors" (presumably independently of any label guidance) and it's in their top 18 countdown, so presuming it's testing well otherwise, I wouldn't be surprised if it's next (though I'd prefer "Work This Body" for sure).

One of those cases where they'll have to decide whether they want another easy alternative radio hit (Different Colors) or if they want a decent chance at another pop hit (Work This Body).

If they want another Pop hit, I'd go with "Work This Body" or "Avalanche". If it is indeed "Different Colors", they probably wouldn't have a chance with that on Pop. Tbh, I don't really care for "Different Colors" and I see it as one of the lower songs on the album.

I'd go with "Different Colors" next, then "Work This Body", and "Avalanche" to finish it off. As long as they don't release the 3rd rate "Tightrope" clone that is "Sidekick" though haha...that'd completely kill the era.

no surprises this is blowing up all over the mainstream - it's pure pop, less alternative in my viewpoint
I resisted this song for so long...but it's so damn catchy that it finally won me over

With this one destined to become a huge smash, my guess is RCA will give them more singles. I think those are the only other three that would work as singles. The only other ones that I liked from the album were "Aquaman" and "Up 2 U", which are both not really radio-friendly (maybe "Up 2 U" on Alt). I don't hear the "Tightrope" comparison lol. "Tightrope" is great, "Sidekick" is meh. ETA: Posting this just made me realize I only actually like 5 songs from the record...
