I can't really get into her beyond a track here and there, but "Cry" is an anthem. Enjoy a few of the others too: "Maybe I Should Call," "Something In The Night," and "Miss You, Goodbye". I'm not sure I hear smashes on this album though. She had more obvious hits on the last album.

Rebellious Soul burned out quick for me so I lost interest in her. Maybe I will give her another chance but the clips sound so bland. Production needs to pop for me to really care about an artist these days. That's why I love Mariah's latest so much. Every song has inspired production choices, not just run of the mill R&B.

I don't think she's looking for a radio hit this go around, but there are some jams on this CD.
Wait, did she call Kim a Plastic Pig?

She called her Plastic Penny. K. Michelle is very good at talking herself out of messy situations, like...I don't entirely believe a lot of what she says goes down with the people she beefs with (Kim, Elle) but she's a good talker.
Album is great, I really liked Rebellious Soul and this one is even better.

Lawd, this interview. "Plastic penny" I can't believe she finally came clean about Idris. I looooove him but he'll really hit anything with a heartbeat. Not her trying to get Michael Fassbender She said she wants "Hard To Do" as the next single. I would love that!

Idris a freak. K.Michelle can write a song, I would love for her to lend a song to someone.

I think "Hard To Do" would be a good single choice. It's pretty much the clean version of "Pay My Bills."
I absolutely loooove "God I Get It."

What's so funny to me, if I had to pick between this and Mary J. Blige's latest, I'd go with this one. I am really digging this album.
And yes to that interview. Love that she doesn't try to sugarcoat anything and that she's pretty much an open book.

LOVE the album. Purchased and just finished my first listen. "Maybe I Should Call", "Cry", "Hard To Do", "God I Get It" & "Something About The Night" (along with "Love Em All") are top tier for me. The only song that didn't move me yet was "Miss You, Goodbye". She sounds great throughout.

"Hard to Do" and "Going Under" need to be singles after "Maybe I Should Call."

Maybe my expectations were too high but I thought she would pass the 100k mark with how well her pre-orders seemed to be doing. Still nothing to scoff at. A solid opening in 2014, especially for an urban act.

Those numbers are in line with I thought. She probably could've done 100k if her single were doing better at radio. Still a solid opening!

Those are amazing numbers for an artist with no hit single. She's selling double what more established artists are with their current albums (Mariah, Mary, Keyshia, etc).

I have a $5 dollar Best Buy certificate. I'm debating between either this or J. Cole. I think one of the two warrants 5 dollars.

Rebellious Soul debuted at #2 with 72k (260k to date) so she's definitely on an upswing with the first week sales.

I didn't know things were so serious with her and Idris, I always kinda assumed they just hooked up a few times casually...not that he'd inspire a whole album from her. I wonder who the rappers were that she said she used to hook up with.

That's a very impressive opening for a mainstream R&B female with no hit.

I wonder who the rappers were that she said she used to hook up with. Idris could inspire an album, a memoir , and a movie. That man is a gift.

f**k it. I support art. I bought both his AND K. Michelle's CDs. At first, I was excited because I thought I had a $5 Best Buy coupon but it just said..."Your coupon is coming soon..." No matter. I listened to a few more clips on Spotify for both artists and thought they were worth my money. Hopefully, I'm right. Edit: OK, K. Judge Me is an even better album opener than My Life... Alright, K. Michelle. Very good album. My immediate favorites are: Judge Me, Love 'Em All, Going Under, Something About The Night, Build A Man, Drake Would Love Me, and for sure, God I Get It (should be her signature song). She sings from a very real place, which I have no choice but to respect. She puts so much into her vocals and her lyrics. I actually think she is better than Keyshia, whereas before I thought she was just Keyshia, Jr. Hopefully, instead of Keyshia, she continues to improve, vs. decline. But...wait...what is Silhouettes though? Her claim for mainstream pop success, like Rihanna's "Diamonds". There is NO way she didn't have Diamonds in mind when she did this song. WTF was this not on the regular edition and only regulated to Best Buy. It's one of the best R&B songs to come out this year. Oh...and then Get In My Bed comes on. Alright. This album is definitely better than her debut. It's missing a VSOP, Ride Out, and Pay My Bills explicitly, but still, overall, a better body of work. I still can't at how two of the best songs on the album are Best Buy exclusives. What else is she holding back?

Ugh, I hate it when artists tack intros onto songs. "Build A Man" is SUBLIME, I just wanna skip the intro. The same producer did "Judge Me." Never heard of this guy, but I wish he had done more of the album.
And I'm with you on "Silhouettes." I immediately thought of "Diamonds" when I heard it, love it. Insane that it's a bonus track.

I had no interest in buying her album until you guys pointed out "Silhouettes." I just took a listen. This girl is an idiot for not putting this on the standard edition. The song is epic!!!!

Yeah, the more I hear Silhouettes and Get In My Bed, the more I hear singles. WTF was she thinking?! I can also hear Drake Would Love Me as a single as well.

She said in that Breakfast Club interview that "Silhouette" will be a UK single.
