Resurrected this from the dead to post a new example I just thought of: Love Galore by SZA. I dunno why, maybe it's because I heard the clean version before the explicit one, but that swearing in the first verse feels super unnecessary and for some reason, I really like the way the lines flow with the final line censored out. Along with "Let's Get It Started," that's really the only example I can think of. i. cant believe i ever condoned censoring our queen sza ?? awful take 2017 me

"I'm a free bit baby" elevates "Bad Romance" for me, more than "I'm a free b*tch baby."

I feel like this is a lot easier to vibe to with "Let's be, cut friends" versus the original line:

I am shocked no one mentioned J Kwon's "TIPSY"
I also loved the radio chorus - Everybody in the club get tipsy compared to the explicit Everybody in this bitch get tipsy.
I want an explicit verse, censored chorus mix ! haha

Another to add 1.5 years later!
"I'm Good at Being Bad" by TLC. The choices of knocks and other sounds to censor the lyrics are so funny and over the top to me, plus this "clean" version got to keep the "Love To Love You Baby" sample. Donna Summer's team made them remove it from the explicit.

Outhere Brother”Boom Boom Boom”(1995). I detest the explicit version because it sounds too sexual.

The Radio Disney version of Lou Bega's "Mambo #5" is still a legendary edit in my opinion. It wasn't "explicit" per se but c'mon, it's Radio Disney so you gotta change "liquor store" to "candy store." But to change the girl names to the Mickey Mouse characters in the song was a whole new epic level.

Noah Cyrus' "Stay Together" - her saying "I shattered my phone on the cement/But I don't give a FUCK" sounds forced and barely on-beat. The clean version says: "I shattered my phone on the cement/But it's still lighting up", which is a better and much less clunky lyric.
I like the Radio Disney version too but a few of the changes are pretty Kidz Bop - "It went straight to my head/I went outside so I could catch my breath", "Finish and hurry, please".

The hooks to T.I.'s "24's", "What You Know", and "U Don't Know Me" sound better censored.
The censored/radio version of "24's" flows better with the shorter second verse, which is about 8 bars less than the explicit version.
