Not bad but easily her weakest single to date IMO

Awkward title. I don't see a radio DJ saying "Up next, My Finger" or "That was My Finger, wasn't it great!"

Not bad but easily her weakest single to date IMO Which could mean her biggest hit to date. It's a sassy song the female audience SHOULD relate to. :)

I saw her opening for Brad Paisley some weeks ago, this song was one of only a couple that stood up to the muddy sound production. It's still a bit muddy in the recording, for me anyway. But otherwise I like it, could work for her.

Not sure what to expect from this chart-wise but this is my least favorite song from her EP. I do still like it though I worry about its chances of being a hit, especially when something with big hit potential like "Take the Keys" barely scraped the Top 40 imo. The total failure of "Pull Me Back" doesn't make me too optimistic here, but I do really enjoy this girl's voice and style so I would love to see her get a debut album out there and get some hits under her belt.

I love everything about here and I have this horrible feeling she's going to be another female artist I fall in love with int to see them not take off. The list of outstanding female talent who didn't take off over the past decade is a really log and sad list and I'm hoping she can pull through and get her career going strong.

I loved Take The Keys, it's a real shame that one didn't take off, but she's gotten worse with each release. This song is just really overproduced, and the hook just sounds awkward to me. Sassy songs are fine (this one strikes me as more Carrie than Miranda), but they kind of need to have a memorable hook or melody, and this really doesn't feature either. Too bad, because I really enjoy her voice.

"Bless My Heart" would've really been a much better choice imo. It's in a similar vein to this one, but everything about it is much more interesting and catchy.

I really like her and I think her EP is really strong. My Finger is one of my favorite tracks, next to Bless My Heart. My Finger is very sassy and fun. I wish Take The Keys would've done better, thats such a great song.

So did this single release get axed? I think this was the wrong choice for radio, so I'm not surprised or disappointed if it did. Hopefully they'll try again with something more radio friendly like "Take the Keys," maybe next spring.

So did this single release get axed? I think this was the wrong choice for radio, so I'm not surprised or disappointed if it did. Hopefully they'll try again with something more radio friendly like "Take the Keys," maybe next spring. This was never sent to radio or given an adds date. As far as I know, the only source for its release was her Facebook page. They could very well go with a different song but it's entirely possible that this release has just been put on hold for now. I don't see any way this makes it up the chart at the moment, so they may have just put it on the back-burner and will try to come back with her in early 2015. Additionally, the entire Columbia roster has singles out right now...Kenny with "Til It's Gone", Chase Rice with "Ready Set Roll", and Tyler Farr with "A Guy Walks Into A Bar", plus now they're getting ready to launch Casey James' "Fall Apart" as well, and new artist Steven Lee Olsen is currently on his radio tour so a single for him can't be that far off (probably Jan/Feb if I had to guess). Chase Rice will have a quick turn-over between singles, too...as soon as RSR finally peaks (and that can't come soon enough), the label will quickly move on to the 2nd single from his album.

According to Sony Music Nashville's website, Leah Turner has been dropped from Columbia Nashville, so we will see what happens next. Oh wow! I don't know how updated that website is, but looking at the list, the only artists missing are Leah Turner, and Love and Theft. Does that mean they are dropped as well? Garth and Trisha are on the list so that's probably updated. Well also, she tweeted a picture of a quote " I know that when one door closes another always opens..." just few days before with the following caption: Leah Turner @leahturnermusic · Oct 2 Hahahahh, this is just perfect 4 the week I have had , well really the last month! Anyone else feeling this way?? If it is indeed true, I'm really sad for her. I think she had a promising start.

That's an awfully quick turn around on Leah Turner -- she got fast-tracked into the market by Sony Nashville and now she's off the label. It's not all that surprising considering what happened to her two singles (and her EP in terms of sales), but on the other hand, it's arguably an indictment of the decision to fast track her in the first place. It's as if Sony Nashville, having decided that she was ready, hardly tried to develop her. There was an early July interview of Gary Overton to which jhomes87 had linked in another thread ( here) in which he had this to say about Leah Turner:Of course, as jhomes87 also pointed out, only a few months later, Gary Overton was talking about bro-country having reached its saturation point, and it looks like he changed his mind about Leah Turner's reception in the market as well. A shame -- she was a female who stood out due to her gravelly voice, and I thought that "Take the Keys" was a nice little tune. I did feel that the production of her music was overly aggressive, but in a market that was quite hostile to new female voices anyway, I don't know if that made a difference.

If he's rethinking the bro country thing, too bad that could not have bought more interest/time to back Leah pushing a new single.
Sorry to hear that for her, and for LNT who were in my area earlier this month - very good live act.

No more waiting on the radio! You can get Leah's EP on iTunes. Download it today: goo.gl/fwUw1V** That's from Leah's Facebook page. Definitely seems like she's frustrated with radio and this definitely seems to reinforce the likelihood that she was let go by Sony.
