I love it! Could you explain, how do you count those points because I want to do something similar with my chart?

I love it! Could you explain, how do you count those points because I want to do something similar with my chart? There isn't really an actual formula lol I just give points to songs at the end of every day based on how much I liked each one, how much it was stuck in my head, how much I heard it on the radio, etc. :) I started doing this at the beginning of the 2014 charts (week dated December 26, 2013) in an attempt for more accurate charts because before that I would just "pick" 20 on Wednesday night and that would sometimes lead to discrepancies (i.e. sometimes I would forget about songs I heard at the beginning of the week lol :$). I use previous days' points as guidelines for the purpose of consistency and so far it has been working really well! :)

Mark G.'s Top 20 - February 19th, 2015 "Uptown Funk!" by Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars returns for to #1 for a 10th total week on top with a 4.1% increase in points. The song is just the fourth to top the chart for a double-digit number of weeks. The other three were "Payphone" (10 weeks, May-July/August 2012), "Happy" (12 weeks, January-April 2014), and "Thrift Shop" (15 weeks, December 2012-April 2013). This is the 8th total week "Uptown Funk!" gets at least 200k points. This is the most for any song ever since I started doing my chart. I don't know if even "Thrift Shop" would have pulled it off (it probably would have as I was obsessed with it for a long time). How many more weeks at #1 could "Uptown Funk!" possibly pull off????? It is challenging the record set by the aforementioned "Thrift Shop" for the most weeks at #1. Stay tuned to find out in the coming weeks...
After its lone week at #1, "Thinking Out Loud" by Ed Sheeran goes back down to #2 with a 16% drop in points. It was Ed's first #1 ever on my chart after "Sing" peaked at #2 and "Don't" peaked at #3. "Thinking Out Loud" spends a 6th total and consecutive week atop R&B Songs.
Taylor Swift scores her 5th top 3 hit as "Style" ascends 5-3 in its 5th week on the chart with a 78% increase in points. Taylor has been very successful with every big single on my chart since 2012 when "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" reached #3 in my chart and I've been a pretty big fan of her music ever since. Will this join "Shake It Off" and become her second #1 on my chart?
Hozier's "Take Me To Church" falls 3-4 with a 21% decrease in points but tops Folk/Alternative Songs for yet a 12th week. Will it be able to pass "Radioactive" for the longest ever reign on that chart? Stay tuned...
Adam and the crew are back as "Sugar" jumps 9-5 becoming the band's 7th top 5 single passing Eminem for the second-most top fives among all acts (not including the three he would've gotten in 2010) (Bruno Mars holds the record for the most with 8 top fives, not including the three or four he would've gotten in 2010). Only one of their chart entries did not reach the top 5 and that was "Love Somebody" which peaked at #6 in June 2013 and looking back at it I feel like it was a great song that deserved to peak higher than it did. Will this be their sixth #1 and the song to put them ahead of Eminem and make them have the most #1's among all acts??? Stay tuned...
Despite falling 4-6 with a 13% decrease in points, "Outside" crowns Dance/Electronic Songs for a 6th week straight.
Meghan Trainor's "Lips Are Movin'" somehow rebounds 8-7 this week. Thought it would go down for sure. Her other song "All About That Bass", which topped for 2 weeks in September 2014, rebounds 17-11 in its 28th week on the chart. This song is holding up a lot better than I initially thought it would. Taylor Swift's "Blank Space" returns to the top ten bounding 18-10 in its 15th week on the chart. It is now going to go recurrent as soon as it falls out of the chart. Same thing with. Ariana Grande's "Love Me Harder" featuring The Weeknd (15-15)
Flo Rida's catchy "GDFR" enters the chart at #20 this week. He previously reached #1 with "Good Feeling" in November 2011 and with "Whistle" in August 2012.
Magic!'s "Rude" spends a 41st week on the chart, tying Pitbull's "Give Me Everything" featuring Ne-Yo, Nayer and Afrojack for the 8th-longest run on the chart since it started. "Am I Wrong" by Nico & Vinz falls out of the chart from #19 after 37 total weeks on the chart - the 11th-longest run of any song since I started my chart.

Mark G.'s Top 20 - February 26th, 2015 "Uptown Funk!" by Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars spends an 11th week at #1, and is starting to pose a threat for "Thrift Shop"'s record of the most weeks at #1...this is intense! The song passes Maroon 5's "Payphone" for the third-longest reign in the history of my chart. If it hangs on for another week, it will tie Pharrell Williams' "Happy" for the second-longest. It is now just four weeks away from the record! *breathing intensifies* Also, with an 11th week atop the chart for "Uptown Funk!", Bruno Mars ups his total weeks at #1 to 21 and passes Eminem and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis for the second-most among all artists, behind Pharrell. The song also logs a 9th week of over 200k points, extending its record. Looks like we really have a contender for year-end #1 here!
Below the top spot, "Outside" by Calvin Harris featuring Elle Goulding jumps 6-2 in its 8th week, surpassing its previous peak of #4. It got a boost from radio earlier in the week, resulting in the jump. It tops Dance/Electronic Songs for a 7th consecutive week, giving Calvin 14 consecutive weeks atop the genre chart ("Blame" falls out of the chart with 9k points this week, landing at #6 on this week's recurrents chart). Avicii and Daft Punk are the only other acts to log this many consecutive weeks atop the chart. It is the second top two for each of the two artists on the track.
Maroon 5's "Sugar" climbs 5-3 in its 5th week on the chart. It is the band's sixth entry to reach the top three. Could it become their sixth #1 and make them the sole act with the most #1's on my chart?
Challenger alert yet again: after falling to #8 last week after am impressive #6 debut, Ellie Goulding's "Love Me Like You Do" jumps 8-4, landing her a third top 5 hit ("Burn" just missed the top five in early 2014). This song is growing on me a lot. I love her voice so much! Could this be the one to dethrone the long-running king "Uptown Funk!"??? Stay tuned...
Hot Shot Debut!: "Elastic Heart" by Sia featuring The Weeknd (more on him later) and Diplo enters my chart at #5 this week. I was pretty obsessed with it for a few days and it was stuck in my head, hence the high debut. This is the highest debut for a song since "Blame" debuted at #1 almost 4 months ago. This is the second top five for Sia as a lead artist and third overall and her fourth top ten overall; it matches the peak of her previous song "Chandelier" in August 2014. She previously reached #2 as a featured act on Flo Rida's "Wild Ones" and #10 as a featured act on David Guetta's "Titanium". It is second top five The Weeknd (following Ariana Grande's "Love Me Harder") and Diplo's first (as well as his first chart entry at all).
Right behind "Elastic Heart", The Weeknd scores two back-to-back debuts as "Earned It" starts at #6 this week. As "Love Me Harder", on which he is featured, survives the great stampede of new entires this week, The Weeknd joins Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Iggy Azalea, LMFAO, Drake, Pitbull, and probably some others in having three songs on the chart. Taylor Swift was the last to do it - just last week! This week, "Shake It Off" was not a survivor of the stampede and dropped off the chart with 27 weeks on and 13k (putting it at #4 on this week's recurrents chart) but last week it, "Blank Space" and "Style" were all on the chart simultaneously. "Earned It" starts at #1 on the R&B Songs chart, dethroning "Thinking Out Loud" which had reigned for 6 weeks.
Taylor Swift's "Style" falls 3-7 in its 6th week on the chart due to the new entries and movers. But fear not as it will return to the top five! It was her fifth top three on my chart.
The aforementioned "Thinking Out Loud" by Ed Sheeran falls 2-8 on my chart in its 8th week. It doesn't look like it will hold up too well but at least it did what the other Ed Sheeran songs failed to do - reaching #1. As mentioned earlier, the song falls off the summit of R&B Songs after 6 weeks atop.
"Take Me To Church" likewise takes a tumble as it falls 4-9 in its 15th week on the chart. It tops Folk/Alternative Songs for a 13th straight weeks; however, this could be its last seeing as how it has a contender gaining fast right below it...
Walk The Moon scores their first top ten as "Shut Up And Dance" jumps 18-10 in its 3rd week on my chart. Could this be a future sleeper hit and #1 on my chart? Could it be the "Radioactive" of 2015??? We will see...
A third alternative song in a row: "Immortals" by Fallout Boy debuts at #11 and becomes the band's first chart entry. They previously juuuust missed the top 20 with "Centuries" (9k this week, #4 on Bubbling Under) and "My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (Light 'Em Up)".
Sam Smith's "Like I Can" debuts at #18 on my chart this week and becomes his fifth chart entry and third as a lead artist. Still mad at the label for not releasing this to North America instead of the boring "Lay Me Down" :(
As as previously mentioned, "Blame" and "Shake It Off" fall off the chart after 16 and 27 geeks on, respectively. Flo Rida's "GDFR" falls off from #20 after debuting there last week. Last but not least, "Rude" by Magic! finally gets stampeded off the chart after 41 weeks on. It is tied with "Give Me Everything" for the 8th-longest run of any song since I started the chart (I will do a rundown later). "Rude" is #3 on recurrents with 16k points).
"One Last Time" (the newest from Ariana Grande), "Energy" and "Riptide" each got enough points this week to normally have been in the 15-17 range on my chart. This competitive stampede week made "Love Me Harder" (somehow surviving it) barely make the chart with 23k points, which is normally enough for #14 or #15. This week was truly intense and had a lot of music in it for me! "One Last Time" will surely debut this coming week. Stay tuned for that!

UF at #1 again! What a surge for outside!! LMLYD is going strong! TOL is finishing for you! Also TMTC! I don't know the reason for losing points for LAM and AATB although you have seen her this week! Maybe she was not as pretty as you imagined before And seems like Ariana will exit your chart after 40 weeks! Nice chart ;)

Nice chart ;) I did not see Meghan this week, I don't know what you are talking about LAM just lost many points from last week and because of so many newer songs it fell so much and I really like the new song "One Last Time" from Ariana so for sure it will debut this coming week! This means she can get much more than 40 weeks maybe she all get one year!!!!! Btw if you have not heard OLT yet I highly recommend that you listen to it! I think you will like it a lot :)

Yes that was the meet and greet for which the tickets sold out so there were none left and I couldn't buy one :( I was really sad. That's why I didn't get to meet her. And the Toronto concert didn't happen last week lol it's coming up this Friday (in two days from now)

Mark G.'s Top 20 - March 5th, 2015 Overall points for songs may be at an all-time high this week!
"Uptown Funk!" by Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars holds at #1 for a 12th total week, tying "Happy" by Pharell for the second-longest ever reign on the chart in since the December 2010 start of the chart. Speaking of Pharrell, Bruno Mars now ups his total weeks at #1 as an artist to 22, now being just 2 weeks shy of Pharrell's record of 24 weeks at the top. This song is starting to pose a real threat to the 15-week record held by "Thrift Shop" for the longest reign since the official December 2010 launch of the chart. It also moves up 13% to 260k points; it was the first song to get this many points in a week when it broke the points record a few weeks ago and now it is also the first song to get this many points for two weeks. It is the second song after "Happy" to get 250k+ for two weeks ("Thrift Shop" would surely have done this as well if I had implemented daily points back then - it very likely would've gotten even 3-5 such weeks) and third after "Happy" and "Problem" to do so. It is the first to tally 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and now 10 weeks of 200k+ points! Stay tuned to find out if Bruno and the Funk! can break some more records and the song becomes one of my top ones of the decade...
Ellie Goulding scores her third top two on my chart as "Love Me Like You Do" moves up 4-2 in its 4th week on the chart. It gains by 60% to 247k points and passes "Fancy" for the most ever points for a song at #2!!! Like I said, points got inflated a lot this week due to me devoting myself more to the fire! Ellie previously reached #1 in August 2012 with "Lights". Will "Love Me Like You Do" end up pulling a "Thinking Out Loud" or an "All Of Me"? Find out in the coming weeks...
"Sugar" by Maroon 5 holds at #3 for a second week but gains by 14% in points. It was just 6k points shy of making it the first week ever that 3 songs get 200k points :( Still this is the most points ever for a song at #3, passing "Blank Space" which got 190k the week it spent a 4th week at its peak of #3 in mid December 2014. Will "Sugar" sweeten the top of the chart and become the band's 6th #1 or is it about to stall? The plot thickens...
"Style" by Taylor Swift rebounds 7-4 after falling 3-7 last week. It gains by 21% to 169k points; the only time a song got more was when "Bang Bang" was #4 with 172k in early November 2014. Will it pass its current peak of #3 in the future?
The Weeknd scores his 3rd top five and first as a lead/solo artist as "Earned It" climbs 6-5 in its second week on my chart. The song reigns R&B Songs for a second week.
Dethroning "Take Me To Church", "Shut Up And Dance" reaches the top of Folk/Alternative Songs moving up 10-6 on the overall chart in its 4th week. This is the first song from Walk The Moon to top the genre chart (it is also their first entry on both the genre chart and the overall chart).
Despite tumbling 2-7, "Outside" by Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding tops Dance/Electronic Songs for an eighth week.
"Take Me To Church" by Hozier and "Thinking Out Loud" by Ed Sheeran swap spots at #8 and #9, respectively. As previously mentioned, "Take Me To Church" ends a 13-week reign on Folk/Alternative Songs (for now anyway).
Ariana Grande debuts in the top ten for the third time in the last 10 months as "One Last Time" debuts at #10 (could've been higher if I hadn't neglected it unknowingly a couple of the days :(). This is, however, her first entry as a solo artist (rather than collaborations)! The song was my top bubbling under song last week as it had gotten 21k points which was juuuust not enough to entry, due to the tight competition last week. Thus "One Last Time" debuts just in time to keep Ariana's long streak alive of being on the chart (this is the 44th consecutive week that she has a song on my chart). It gained by 352% to 95k this week. Could it become her 3rd #1 in the future? Stay tuned...
Sam Smith's "Like I Can" jumps 18-12 in its second week on the chart with a 77% increase in points. It is vying to become Sam's fourth top ten and second as a lead artist. Damn you, whoever decided to release "Lay Me Down" here instead of this gem. :( (just kidding)
Tove Lo's "Talking Body" debuts at #17 becoming her third entry and second as a lead/solo artist. She reached #2 in early November 2014 with "Habits (Stay High)". Can this be the future hit that gets the revenge for "Habits" and makes it to #1?
Vance Joy's "Riptide" re-enters my chart at #20. It debuted/peaked at #12 in mid November 2014 and fell off after two weeks on the chart. It now returns three and a half months later. Kewl.
"Blank Space", "Love Me Harder" and "I'm Not The Only One" are the old friends that we say goodbye to this week :( they enter the recurrents chart at #1, #2 and #8, respectively with 17k points, 12k points and 2k points, respectively. I thought I listened to "Blank Space" and "Love Me Harder" enough this week to be on the chart :(

Mark G.'s Top 20 - March 12th, 2015 Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars nab the top spot with "Uptown Funk!" for a 13th week, passing Pharrell Williams' "Happy" for the second-longest reign in the history of my chart since it officially started. "Uptown Funk!" is now just two weeks away from tying the record set by "Thrift Shop" for the longest. This is getting really intense now! Bruno Mars also ups his total weeks at #1 to 23, now being just one week behind the record-holder Pharrell Williams (of course if the extremely lengthy reigns of "Love The Way You Lie" and "Forever" were included, Eminem would have almost 50 weeks to his name). The song now passes "Happy" for the most weeks of 250k+ points (this is its third). It also posts a record-extending 11th week of 200k+ points. "Uptown Funk" is definitely going down as one of my top songs of the decade... Stay tuned to see if some records will be broken in the coming weeks...
Ellie Goulding holds at #2 for a second week with "Love Me Like You Do". It was looking like it would surely become her second #1 this week; this is looking dangerous for Ellie now...can she hold on long enough to take that #1 spot? Or possibly pull a "Lights" and rebound to the #1 spot weeks later (in this case late April/early May)? Stay tuned...
"Sugar" by Maroon 5 holds at #3 for a third straight week. It's not looking to be taking that same #1 path as the previous two singles from V (and a couple weeks ago it was looking like it would be going to #1 for sure). Is it yet to peak? Or will it pass the record of "Blank Space" for the most weeks at a peak of #3? Let's see if Maroon 5 lives up to their potential...
Taylor Swift's "Style" holds at #4 this week, making for a static top four this week. The song loses just 3% of its point sum last week (compared to the 3.2%, 6.5% and 15.5% decreases of the #1, #2 and #3 songs, respectively). The song reached #3 three weeks ago.
Fab Five: Ariana Grande scores her 5th top five as "One Last Time" jumps 10-5 in its second week on the chart. It is her first entry as a solo artist. Will it become her third #1 on my chart? This is Ariana's 45th consecutive week with a song on my chart. Could she be going for a record? We will see...
Walk The Moon's "Shut Up And Dance" holds at #6 for a second week and tops Folk/Alternative Songs for a second week as well.
"Time Of Our Lives" by Pitbull and Ne-Yo returns to the top ten with an 11-7 jump, nearly doubling its points. It is growing on me fast again now...will it surpass its #6 peak and possibly be the one to dethrone the King "Uptown Funk!"?...
"Outside" by Calvin Harris and Elle Goulding falls 7-8, having peaked at #2 two weeks ago. The song tops Dance/Electronic Songs for a 9th consecutive week.
Ahhh, a nice and fresh chart! With the descent of "All About That Bass" from the chart (kinda forced), "Take Me To Church" (8-9) is now one of just three songs eligible to go recurrent (the other two being the King "Uptown Funk!" and Maroon 5's "Animals", the latter of which is now the longest current chart sitter with 22 weeks on the chart; it passes the 21-week run of "Maps" which was from June to November 2014).
"Earned It" by The Weeknd tumbles to #10 from its #5 peak in its third week on the chart. It will likely rebound this coming week. It tops R&B Songs for a third consecutive week.
Vance Joy's "Riptide" jumps 20-13 in its 4th total week on the chart. It grew on me a lot recently. It peaked/debuted at #12 in November. Could it pass this peak next week and crack the top ten?
This week's debuts are "Pray To God" by Calvin Harris ft. HAIM and "I Really Like You" by Carly Rae Jepsen. The former is the seventh chart entry for Calvin and the first for HAIM; the latter is the fourth for Carly (third as a lead/solo artist).

Go UF!!!You can do it! Ellie and Maroon5 are doing well OLT seems dangerous for UF! SUAD is nice but doesn't have longivity :/ IRLY is OK but I expected more from Carley! Your chart is full of fresh song! The oldest song has been here for 22 weeks only! Great chart Mark G ;)

Ella is not so beautiful Meghan can attract me more than her Ella is much more beautiful on the inside than Meghan, which IMO is much more important than outward appearance anyway I think this is not topic of conversation for this thread lol (I don't want to get banned ) I will try to post year-end top five today! For sure I will post at least #5 and #4! :)
