"Rough Landing, Holly" peaked at #27 in 2006.
You might be surprised to know "Lights and Sounds" went top 5.

"Southern Air" was released in 2012. I liked "Telescope" from that one. thier new cd is gonna have more of a rock sound than a "Pop Punk". I'm not sure that's such a smart move, since they are known as Pop Punk. We'll just have to see?

What record label are they on?

They are on "Razor & Tie". It's the label Pretty Reckless and All That Remains is on. Might be the reason for the edgierier rock feel? If the lable promotes them right, the new cd could catch on?

I thought Here I Am Alive and Always Summer off their last album were cracking songs...

I thought Here I Am Alive and Always Summer off their last album were cracking songs... I don't remember "Here I Am Alive", but "Always Summer" is certainly part of my prior statement about all of their lead singles being epic. In fact, my 5 favourite Yellowcard singles (in no particular order) are "Way Away", "Lights And Sounds", "Light Up The Sky", "For You And Your Denial", and "Always Summer". Always thought "Ocean Avenue" and "Only One" were overrated.

Where exactly did "Light Up the Sky" peak? I was very surprised that didn't hit the Top 40 coming off "Lights and Sounds". Perhaps because the album was released a bit early....

Ahhh. The video link from 91X was taken down and I haven't been able to find the song anywhere. Does anyone have another link for a huge Yellowcard fan to listen to??? EDIT: Found one! kingdomleaks.tumblr.com/I expected something super energetic like "Lights and Sounds" or "Way Away" as a debut single but this is still very good. I've been a big Yellowcard fan since the "Ocean Avenue" album came out and blew me away. It's really a shame how nothing has done well since "Rough Landing, Holly." Maybe this can bring them back onto the Alternative chart or maybe even be sent to AAA?

It's not bad at all. Sounds a bit like Dashboard Confessional style.

So was I, but it hope it does some (minor) damage. I don't, that would be an insult to their last 3 lead singles, which all failed to hit the top 40 and were all amazing.

Well then this would compensate for it, which is why I want to. Yellowcard have gone too long without success, and even if it's their worst lead single yet, it needs to make up for it.

By that logic, if Sugar Ray comes out with a new album, it's lead single should hit the top 40 because of how "When It's Over" got robbed on Alternative.

The last few singles haven't. I'm not a Sugar Ray fanboy, so I can't speak for them.

If you can believe it, they were somewhere between a nu-metal and post-hardcore punk group before "Fly" came out and got huge. Went from this: to this:

When It's Over should have been an Alt hit, but it didn't. And I wouldn't be opposed to Sugar Ray on Alt again...

Sugar Ray. There is a name I havn't heard in ages. Didn't the lead singer become a jude for something or game show host? Can't remember going nuts for anything from those guys. I'll take Smash Mouth over them any day.

And my active/heritage station still likes to play "Walkin On The Sun" and "All Star" from time to time.
