Neally and peterawr were the standouts tonight, they were simply amazing!!!! Surfy, john and Stephen also did quite great. Picklerclarkson didn't have his best performance but it was still an enjoyable one at that. JuanK, Jules and carrieidol1 did pretty good. And green baron, I didn't like his performance again, but he improved over last time and I think he could keep improving if he keeps working hard at singing!!! :) That's all I have for now

I think if judges are going to comment, their comments should be more than half-assed dragged out rankings... Jmo. I feel like my video wasn't even watched; I'd like to think it's better than "pretty good", I hope... Surely, it's worth more than a passing two word phrase. I didn't mean that to sound mean, I'm just a little annoyed.

I'm not down, I just don't think song choice should influence rankings. It was established early on that this was a vocal-based competition. We all have different tools, technology, skills, and different repertoires, so to make the playing field even, this is supposed to mainly be about vocal performance; pitch, tonality, emotion, breath, technique, and other things that relate to vocals. That's what I thought this competition was supposed to be about, at least? I've been voting purely on vocals, am I the only one?

I also think that judges should be participating because they are otherwise just a waste... But I loved your performance you were in my top 3!!! Your tone is so amazing, every note was perfect! So definitely one of my standouts this week!

Not at all, the fact that you're the only one doing something here is really helpful, all I'm saying is try to think a little harder and give comments on how to improve vocal tone, also forget the song... the song doesn't matter, it's exclusively vocal critique.

You're not supposed to judge on song choice, though. And thank you. But isn't song choice a big part of it though? I know in the actual show the judges make lots of comments about how important the song choice is, and say things like "I don't think that was the right song for you." For instance, the season before last Amber sang that song about leaving the cake out in the rain and I recall everyone being like "You can sing and you sang it well, but that's still a terrible song no matter who does it." Just throwing my $.02 out there.

Throwing other 2 cents for consideration: Maybe the schedule is becoming too tight for too many? How about making each round last for two weeks? One week for contestants to prepare songs and one week for judges and people to vote? Or something along those lines? Just saying

Just throwing my $.02 out there. It is important, but considering the different resources we all have, I don't think it's necessarily right to say, "I didn't love the song you chose, so I'm going to rank you lower"... Which is essentially what the case was. It's not like we have professionals here to help us with key changes, lyric analysis, etc... If the song is awful, so be it, but a competition of this level shouldn't be based on song choice. If someone doesn't like/know country and they criticize me solely because they didn't know/like the song I sang, that's not right. The judge who commented stated that he doesn't listen to country and the song wasn't his "cup of tea". Why should I be punished if he simply didn't like/know the song? If the judges were professionals, sure, critique the song choice because ideally, in that situation, we'd all have mentors, live bands, and vocal coaches to work with. I think judging wether the song choice fits or not should be considered, but not the song itself purely on the basis of knowing/liking it or not...

My first time listening to you all, so these are the notes I made:
Johnm1120 - No Matter What - Never heard this song before, but it seems that some notes were off-pitch throughout the song. It also seems that you had a couple times that were reaching to hit a certain range. Otherwise I thought it was not bad.
Green Baron - Every Day Is Exactly the Same - I actually like this NIN song, but it sounded pretty monotonous here. I'm not sure a capella and NIN really go together tbh. I think you can work on putting some emotion in the song and your pitch - some of this sounded like you were talk-singing.
stevenisfading - Ain't It Fun - You have a really nice tone in your voice and handled the runs capably.
picklerclarkson - Say It Right - This seems a little changed up from the original, or maybe that's because it's a capella - sounded like you were singing for theater. I think it sounds good, but that you could have played more with your range - it felt like you were holding back. The ending note was a little off.
neally - Don't You Wanna Stay - I'm really impressed by this one - I felt like I could conceivably hear it on the radio. You brought some emotion to the song that I hadn't seen in some of the other entries.
meIamJuank - La Defferenza Tra Me e Te - This is a difficult song to judge since it's a style and language with which I'm not familiar. From what I'm hearing, I think there were some pitch problems, but I do like your voice.
carrieidol1 - He Stopped Loving Her Today - This is pretty good - I think you could work on the lower range of your voice a bit. There were a few noticeable off-notes during the middle and end of the song. I think you could have hit that ending more out of the park, but instead, it left me a little meh. Thank you for doing a video - brave. :)
surfy - ET - Another video! You have a really interesting voice, and I think you made a good song selection to go with ET. I think you could have taken your time with this song a little bit more for drama's sake - it is too sped up. At times, it was also a bit too whispery.
Jules - Problem - It's risky doing a song that you're currently hearing all the time on the radio especially with the background music because then all I can hear is Ariana, and she hits notes that are really high. You had a lot of wonky notes in this song, and missed some words going into the first Problem chorus (or I just couldn't hear it). You did a good job with the Iggy rap. :)
peterrawr - Firework - This was a good song to end on - for one, I think you are the only one who really found a way to change it up and for another, you added a lot of color to the words and I could hear the emotion in your voice. This is a hard song to sing; you did great. Careful with your lower notes.
