Songs that are Forgotten

I was thinking last night about all the songs that I love that so many of my friends are unaware of. It was shocking to me that there are all these songs out there that never hit big or even songs, that made it big that are now forgotten. (besides us pulse people, because we know all songs :) ). I thought we could have a page on songs that we love, but no one in your daily live could recognize.

The song that started this for me was Address in the Stars by Caitlin & Will. They were put together on the CMT show Can You Duet, and eventually won. They were signed to Columbia Nashville and started the radio tour with what was supposed to be their debut single, "Even Now." However, radio preferred another song, Address in the Stars, and that song eventually became there debut, and unfortunately, only single. It spent 20 weeks to get to its peak at #42.

The lyrics of this song to me are so powerful and Caitlin's emotional vocal just does me in everytime I hear it. The video is simply haunting, and it is just extremely sad to me that none of my close friends are aware of this incredible song.

If I Run - the Harters (I really enjoyed that song, and if you haven't noticed, I'm not that big of a fan of female singers other than Shania and the occasional Miranda Lambert song)
I Can't Take You Anywhere - Scotty Emerick (almost made the Top 20, though Toby's version was FAR superior)
Nothin' But A Love Thing - Darryl Worley (great song, but they pulled it for the even better I Just Came Back From A War)

That song has spent quite a few weeks in the 30's and 40's and wasn't catching on as fast as 903 would have liked so they decided to let promotion go for that song and sent out "I Just Came Back From A War" a month later.

It was the misspelling that clearly threw people off :) I will never understand why Darryl wasn't bigger.  The "Hear and Now" album (which "Thang" came from) is one of my top 5 of all time.

I wouldn't quite put it in my top 5 but there were definitely some great tracks on that album. "Living In The Here And Now", "Nothin' To Lose" were the two standouts for me.
