"Lost and Found" is coming out as an instant grat tomorrow. Why does everything sound so generic. Why is every picture overtly sexualised. For a special singer and songwriter with such a beautiful unique voice this just seems so obviously a stab at cash. Lost and found sounds basic

Lost and Found sounds like Tegan and Sara's last album to me.

It really does. But as I loved that album, and love Ellie, I have exactly zero complaints about that. It's probably my least favourite of the songs we've heard, but it's still damn good IMO.

I'm so excited for this album. Lights was amazing, and Halcyon was a total grower, but if done right, I think this could be her best yet.

According to the latest release schedule from Noise11, the track "Army", which is allegedly the next single from Delirium, will be out this Saturday as an instant grat. That said, this release date (Saturday) was the same they previously mentioned for "Something In the Way You Move" and "Lost and Found", so I assume that it will be out first in Europe tomorrow.

"Army" is coming out as an instant grat tomorrow. Also, looks like it's already on Rdio, so you could listen to it here.

Wtf. Why am I so underwhelmed with all this new material? She's been my bae since 2009 but I just can't get with any of the new songs. OMM, SITWYM, L&F and now Army.. just uneventful.

I loving all the songs so far, I just hope Army is not the next single. It feels like its way too soon for another ballad.

Army's a bit basic, but it does sound like a hit, especially a UK hit.

I don't know what to make of Army but it feels like an Ellie song more so than her other songs this era so I like it for that reason. It's an interesting second single choice but personally Something In The Way You Move is easily the catchiest song she's put out from this project.

lol does anyone else feel like no one cares for her comeback at the moment? obviously, her first week sales should be decent, but this feels like such a non event when a couple of months ago people were betting on the 4th quarter being all hers...

lol does anyone else feel like no one cares for her comeback at the moment? obviously, her first week sales should be decent, but this feels like such a non event when a couple of months ago people were betting on the 4th quarter being all hers... I was just thinking about this earlier. OMM is still doing well and normally its rise would feel like the kind of buildup that is leading to something, but - and I know this is such a cliche thing to say now but it's true - IMO it's the Adele effect. Adele's return has cannibalized the attention that other stars would be getting right now. JB vs. 1D? Ariana? Even impending releases from Rihanna and Beyonce...Take Adele out of the equation and I feel like all of these things would stand out more on their own merits, without necessarily encroaching upon one another. But now Hello/25 is making everything else seem inconsequential by comparison. I think it is also not helping Ellie's cause that she hasn't done much media in the US so far, so to that extent she hasn't yet put in the work needed to make her own launch feel like more of an event; that can't be blamed on Adele at all. I assume there will be things lined up for the release week, though. All that said, I still have faith Ellie will do well with this era - it looks like her label is totally behind her; Army is fantastic and I think will strike a chord with all the people who liked LMLYD; and the album overall seems like it is going to multiple pop-friendly hits to choose from.

When was this a comeback though? When did anyone even remotely say that she'd outdo Adele? This is being setup as a 'breakthrough', which so far it looks more or less like it when you consider just how long some of her prior songs took to get going.
Imo, it's been very obvious that they're aiming for the larger time period with this, especially since they chose to launch now when they've had material ready to release for months. They've chosen the earliest possible releases for as many songs as they can. They could very well wait until Jan/Feb and launch the album off yet another single then (Adele would likely block her, but who knows), but their goal is to have the product available as long as they can in the 4th quarter.

No one said she'd outdo Adele lmao. And I don't think fire means 'comeback' in the way you are using it. I assumed he was only referring to the mere fact that she is coming back with new music (to that extent, anyone's new album is a 'comeback' of sorts). Regardless of how you look at it, I think Adele is throwing things off for several people now, in that things that would otherwise be a story don't feel so noteworthy. Ellie's album could very well be a breakthrough in the long run - I hope it is - but I feel she won't stand out as much for it as I originally thought...fire's comment struck a chord with me because I was one of the very people who said when OMM dropped that it felt like Ellie's era was about to be huge, but now Adele is here and I'm distracted. I'm still excited to have Ellie's album of course, but it no longer has that 'event' feel to me; 25 has taken over the conversation. The upside to this is that Adele's fucking it up for everybody; this is something I could have said in anyone's thread and still meant it, so it's not like Ellie's the only one being affected. Hence it being a cliche to even point it out; you don't shut down shop just because the biggest star in music finally decided to drop her album.

I'm still excited to have Ellie's album of course, but it no longer has that 'event' feel to me; 25 has taken over the conversation. The upside to this is that Adele's f**king it up for everybody; this is something I could have said in anyone's thread and still meant it, so it's not like Ellie's the only one being affected. Hence it being a cliche to even point it out; you don't shut down shop just because the biggest star in music finally decided to drop her album. It's been well known even before the announcement that an Adele album was most likely coming this year after preliminary hopes for last year fell through. With that I don't see how she's "throwing off" anything. Unless Scooter and Janick and other non-Sony executives actually ever thought they could outsell Adele in a Q4 showdown (and once you think this through, it's just not likely in the slightest), there isn't anything happening differently than what was expected. People always make histrionic statements about Adele because she's such an anomaly. People went on and on about how she was saving the industry a few years back when nobody else's sales rose as a result of 21's success. They're just that. Histrionic statements. And she is just that. An anomaly. As such, it's best to proceed either way because her commercial success will continue to economically affect the only group of people in the industry it ever has, hers. The people that care about only her will get her album and head back to Connecticutwherever. Bringing this back to Ellie's campaign specifically, even before Adele's announcement, there were many obvious signs that this project is designed to have legs. First and foremost is the arena tour, which has been the 3-4 year plan for her from her since the Halcyon recovery in 2013 at least. Additionally however, I did think it was peculiar that that they didn't try to do a big blitz for On My Mind as soon as it was released, but that does mean they may be saving up for later once they have the American leg closer to being finalized. And regarding the comeback statement, I understood what they tried to say, but she's had 2 hits this year, including one of the biggest. Despite the lack of a promotional campaign from her, it's more of a continuation or furthering of the gradual roll of the past 3 years. It's like when people tried to call Diamonds a comeback; no.

Indeed, I was thinking about the Adele effect but even before that I felt like there was some anticipation for her to fully breakthrough that had already cooled off quite a bit. OMM is doing well, but look at its UK charting position. By no means is this a huge hit for her in her key market. There've been other UK acts before who crossed over to the US but eventually saw their stardom falter on both sides of the Atlantic (Natasha Bedingfield comes to my mind, Jessie J, though she never made it big in the US). With Ellie, I have the same feeling that people are slowly losing interest - obviously, I could also be blinded by me being underwhelmed with OMM which I find super generic. I did not know about the 3-4 year plan and the huge tour that's lined up. I'll definitely buy her album and hope that this will eventually become a great era for her, commercially as well as artistically.

Agreed completely. I thought she was going to have Katy perry type success. I was probably more excited for her than Adele. She has really drawn out the release of the album when she didn't need to. On top of that none of the songs have hit me. I remember listening to halcyon and being so moved by it. It was so complex and interesting and yet melodic. This just seems I don't know ...basic
