10 #1 albums and 33 top 10 sets. She has extended her lead for females in both areas.

TThis is sort of a comeback for Barbra it seems
However, a duets album is always quite sure way to sell records. Remember Lionel Richie, Tony Bennett and even Smokey Robinson?

Tim's album was originally scheduled for May 6th the first two singles were released January 13th and April 14th respectively both peaking in the top 20 Sundown's current single is currently at 37 on the billboard country singles chart I guess they were hit fishing. Probably miscalculated on it.

The chart lover in me is so happy. Hopefully, she can keep and possibly extend this lead as the week goes on.

Wow, her debut sales won't be far off her previous number one effort, which was five years ago!

I'm not surprised at either of them. Train hasn't had a hit the size of anything from their last album to push this record, and Tim McGraw has had 3 singles that didn't take off plus the album was delayed. I think Tim can still salvage it in the longrun, Train probably not

McGraw's "Meanwhile Back at Mama's" peaked at No. 2 on country airplay, so that's a decent-sized hit. But, yeah, the projections are disappointing, given his history.

The 72 year old Streisand will have the #1 album. Think about that.

Tim McGraw has had 3 singles that didn't take off plus the album was delayed. I think Tim can still salvage it in the longrun, Train probably not What are you talking about? There have only been 2 singles from the album, lol. The 3rd single was released to radio only 2 weeks ago. Lead single "Lookin' For That Girl" was panned by fans and critics alike, yet it didn't really struggle at radio. It had a pretty easy run up to #15 on Billboard Country Airplay before Tim pulled it (he's signed to Big Machine, but through his own imprint, McGraw Music). It was looking like a surefire top 10 at the very least, and many of us were surprised when he suddenly announced that "Meanwhile Back At Mama's" was his new single. The only reason the album was pushed back was to correlate with when "Meanwhile Back At Mama's" would peak. MBAM had a great run up the charts and peaked at #2 just a couple weeks back, getting held out of the top spot just barely by the colossal smash that was Dierks Bentley's "Drunk On A Plane". MBAM will be certified Gold soon as it's already well past 500k downloads, and closing in on 600k. The 3rd single, "Shotgun Rider", was only just released to radio at the beginning of the month and it's already moving up the charts rapidly. I think Tim's album sales are a bit lower considering all the promo he's been doing, but a lot of more casual fans have moved on to the next generation of big stars (Aldean, Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, Brantley Gilbert, Eric Church, etc). Artists like Tim as well as Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley, and Keith Urban simply aren't selling many albums anymore.

^Very true about Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley, Keith Urban and I would add Lady Antebellum to that list.

www.billboard.com/articles/columns/chart-beat/6251750/barbra-streisand-historic-no-1-album-partnersBarbra Streisand Set for Historic No. 1 AlbumBy Keith Caulfield | September 17, 2014 6:15 PM EDT 'Partners' could make her the first artist with No. 1 albums in each of the past six decades. Barbra Streisand may collect her 10th No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart next week with the arrival of her new all-star duets album, Partners. The Columbia Records set, which was released on Sept. 16, may sell over 150,000 copies in the week ending Sept. 21, according to industry forecasters. That starting sum should be enough to fend off all other titles on next week's chart -- the top 10 of which will be revealed on Wednesday, Sept. 24. Partners features Streisand duetting with an all-male hit parade of singers, including Stevie Wonder, Michael Buble, Blake Shelton, Billy Joel and Lionel Richie. If Partners hits No. 1, it will make Streisand the first artist with No. 1s in each of the past six decades ('60s through '10s), and it would extend her lead as the female artist with the most No. 1 albums. To promote the new album, Streisand made a well-publicized visit to NBC's The Tonight Show on Monday, where she was the only guest for the evening. She performed a medley of songs with host Jimmy Fallon, chatted and then sang a solo number at the end of the show. It was her first proper appearance on a late-night talk show since 1963, when she was last on The Tonight Show. On Tuesday, she performed on ABC's Good Morning America and is scheduled to appear on ABC's The View on Thursday. The second-highest new entry on next week's Billboard 200 chart will likely be Chris Brown's next studio effort, X. It may sell around 130,000 copies and come in at No. 2.

YOUR TOP 15: Barbra Streisand now seems to be within striking distance of the first-week sales of her prior set, 2009’s Love Is the Answer, which opened with 180k. As we’ve grown her projection every day this week, we certainly can’t rule out the possibility that Partners could bow with an even higher number. We're getting verklempt over here! OneRepublic, meanwhile, re-enters the Top 10 thanks to a 99-cent sale that began yesterday at Google Play. Here’s how it looks headed into the weekend: 1. Barbra Streisand (Columbia) 165-175k 2. Chris Brown (RCA) 135-145k 3. Tim McGraw (Big Machine) 65-70k 4. George Strait (MCA Nashville) 50-55k 5. Train (Columbia) 45-50k 6. Maroon 5 (222/Interscope) 40-45k 7. OneRepublic (Interscope) 40-45k 8. For King & Country (Curb) 28-32k 9. Slash (Dyk Hayd) 24-27k 10. Frozen (Walt Disney) 21-24k 11. Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Mix, Vol. 1 (Hollywood) 21-24k 12. Jeezy (Def Jam) 20-23k 13. Ariana Grande (Republic) 19-21k 14. Lecrae (Reach) 18-20k 15. Lee Brice (Curb) 17-19k 16. Sam Smith (Capitol) 17-9k In other music news, the Scottish independence vote may not be counted until tomorrow, but we're already rocking our Independent Haggis Mix, featuring Annie Lennox, Big Country, the Bay City Rollers, Shirley Manson, Average White Band, the Proclaimers and Jack Bruce. (9/18p)

The Top 14 might all sell over 20k.
OneRepublic's label really wants their album to scan 1 million. They keep discounting it.

Next week: The label thinks Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga will sell 160k.

Next week: The label thinks Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga will sell 160k. They sold 15k from their HSN special. Idk if it did re-runs or not, but if so, they could have picked up even more sales. Would be great if they hit #1.

Next week: The label thinks Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga will sell 160k. That would be an easy #1 debut. I'm skeptical. I still say it's somewhere in the 75-80k range.

His last album (not counting the Spanish duets release) opened with 179k. I think 160 is possible but not guaranteed

BABS RUNS UP THE SCORE: We told you yesterday there was a chance Barbra Streisand’s Partners (Columbia) could best the 180k opening week of her 2009 album Love Is the Answer. Today, it looks very likely that she’ll do just that, as we raise our projection to 175-185k—making it a lock for #1 on next week’s chart. Partners will be Streisand’s 10th #1 album, more than any other female artist. One of the more fascinating aspects of this release is the digital percentage, which could be as high as 35%. Traditionally, digital sales have contributed far less to upper-demo artists. While the album is aggressively priced digitally at $7.99, wonderers are wondering if this could signal a shift to a more digital-friendly upper-demo market. (9/19a)
Oh my god, look at her sales!

Babs doesn't need to sing "The Way We Were" to the Billboard 200, cause it's just as it has been over the last 50 years.
