The blacklisting of Janet Jackson by radio, media, and government figures after Nipplegate, negating her three decades of contributions to music and philanthropy, all while letting the perpetrator Justin Timberlake off the hook completely. It's not like Janet was an innocent victim and Justin Timberlake acted on his own. It was a publicity stunt that everybody involved knew about, but it is a shame that JT came out of smelling like a rose while Janet was thrown to the wolves

Billboard changing their ruling the last minute and dethroning Blackout from it's rightful #1 spot. Long Road Out of Eden sold 711,000 copies in its first week. End of story. -Radio's refusal to touch "Gangnam Style" and it's overplay of "One More Night" robbing PSY of the #1 spot on the Hot 100. -Daft Punk waiting more than a decade for America to open up to them, only for them to be overshadowed by Robin Thicke and be denied a second hit. -Robin Thicke's career being destroyed by a controversy centered on Miley Cyrus. -America turning Justin Bieber into a punching bag. As questionable as his actions have been he does not deserve the hate he gets. -1D's popularity ruining so many young artists' careers (i.e. The Wanted, Austin Mahone, Emblem3, etc.; pretty much every boy band/teen singer except for 5SOS) -"Wake Me Up"'s recurrent airplay screwing over "The Man" and "Hey Brother." -Male consumers losing their power fast. -Kidz Bop is still around.

Taylor Swift's singles from "Speak Now" not going top 10 on CHR/Pop radio. Taylor has recovered since then but that album deserved better on pop radio.
Letting PSY get more hits on radio than Carly Rae Jepsen had. "Kiss" came out two years ago and was much better than anything PSY has released since.CRJ was the better of the two 2012 stars with the megahit.

The complete ruining of TRL circa 2007 Gotye being denied a second hit because the label didn't release "Save Me" as the second single Phil Spector being a murderer (this counts in two ways) Casey Kasem not being able to make it to 40 years doing countdowns, retiring after 39

Sandy Hook killing the Warrior era. Poor choice of word considering the situation. There were many victims killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School that day; 27 to be exact. Kesha is NOT one of them. "Die Young" had already peaked at the time of the tragedy. It wouldn't have gone any higher; the tragedy accelerated its fall down the charts, but it was already in the books as a big hit at that point. A follow-up single would have done just fine had it been GOOD, so it's actually on Kesha and her label for releasing an unmemorable, dated second single that gets credit for the era only being one-hit deep.

For PSY, only "Gangnam Style" got much radio play (and that only rather briefly), while in addition to "Call Me Maybe" CRJ does have "Good Time" (a duet, but she was a full partner in it). So that's two radio hits even if she never has another.

Even if he is that bad a person, I at least wish the GP would leave him alone. A few more examples: -"Burn" being stuck right outside the top 10 for more than a month. -"Harlem Shake" robbing "Thrift Shop" of 5 weeks at the top. -"Problem" missing out of #1.

The invention of Parental Advisory. Yep, because every child was rushing out to buy copies of death metal albums before they had Tipper Stickers on them. And in the same vein, I'll throw in edited versions of explicit albums/songs being released commercially and stores that stock them exclusively (looking at you Walmart)

The invention of Parental Advisory. I would actually really like to see a study done on the exact effects these stickers had. Although some would definitely refrain, a good deal of kids would also have been attracted by the danger too.

For Mariah: - Forever and Butterfly were released as airplay only singles, both could've made the top 5 or even #1 Hot 100, because Mariah was a huge physical - single seller at that period - Loverboy stalled at #2 Hot 100 after huge discount for the physical single, just because her ex-husband tried to boycott her, also by discounting Bootylicious single price - We Belong Together stalled at #2 Hot Digital Songs - Mariah didn't win any major categories at the Grammy 2006 - Shake It Off stalled at #2 Hot 100, how unlucky - Migrate and Side Effects weren't released as singles although both could be her surefire 19th #1 and 20th #1 hit - HATEU was released after IWTKWLI, should've been the 2nd single right after Obsessed, it could've become a hit imo

The invention of Parental Advisory. I would actually really like to see a study done on the exact effects these stickers had. Although some would definitely refrain, a good deal of kids would also have been attracted by the danger too. This reminds me of one of the earliest examples of that, actually. Axl Rose was very vocal about Tipper Gore (founder of the PMRC), being a huge part of the reason many stores didn't sell their "Use Your Illusion" albums. The custom sticker carried by some stores said "This album contains language which some listers may find objectionable. They can fuck off and buy something in the New Age section. LMFAO.

X Factor booting Cheryl. :'( YASSS! I thought Cheryl was really good in the few bits that made it to the first U.S. airing. The bullshit reasons for her firing were so stupid. Hidden gem of the 2010s... It's a shame that it was sabotaged and mismanaged. It had a ton of potential singles on it.

"Loverboy nor Shake It Off" should have been num.1 at the time so I don't think it's a music crime. I don't think "HateU" should have been released at all. I never got the hype for this song by her hans. I've played this for casual Mariah fans and they never really care for it. I however love the remix. I think "Migrate" would of done well at the time but I don't think "Side Effects" would have crossed over as much so I don't think it would have been an all around huge hit.
