Which of these early '80s rock anthems is more famous: "Don't Stop Believin'" by Journey or "Eye of the Tiger" by Survivor?

I feel like when I was younger "Eye of the Tiger" was more famous, but "Don't Stop Believin'" had a major resurgence in popularity starting around 2006 (first due to Laguna Beach, thenGlee), so I think now "Don't Stop Believin'" is the more famous of the two. [/i]

Glee and a few other things have familiarized DSB with a younger group in the past few years but I think it's Eye of the Tiger. Everyone knows "The Rocky Song" as soon as it starts!

When I was growing up, I would definitely have nominated "Eye Of The Tiger." But ever since it's use in The Sopranos season finale, "DSB" has experienced some kind of unfortunate resurgence and keeps getting reused is different forms of media.
And you simply CANNOT go into any karaoke bar in the universe without hearing it at least twenty times. It's definitely the more famous track right now. AND IT'S SUCH A HORRIBLE F**KING SONG. One of my least favorite songs of all time. It sucked back then and it sucks now.

Same what others have said. Eye Of The Tiger seemed more popular in the 90s and early 00s, but after the Sopranos finale, DSB's endurance is virtually on the level of Thriller. It takes pretty much less than a second for people to realize it too when it starts playing.
I have never, EVER, gotten what makes Don't Stop Believin' so special for some people, but for whatever reason it is.

Eye Of The Tiger is the much better song and spent several weeks at #1. Don't Stop Believin in my opinion is among the worst songs ever.

Both are not favorites of mine but "Don't Stop Believin'" is more famous. In fact "Don't Stop Believin'" is one of my least favorite songs of all-time.

I think that Don't Stop Believin' is winning, is because of the fact that most of the voters are from the USA or at least from America. I think that Eye of the Tiger is the most famous, at least if you look to worldwide recognization.

"Don't Stop Believin'". It used to be "Eye Of the Tiger" though. I find both to be overhyped.

I think that Eye of the Tiger is the most famous, at least if you look to worldwide recognization. All of the exposure that DSB has gotten in the US over the past decade has hit other countries as well. It's been used in films, video games, tv shows, it's peformed in singing competitions like X-Factor, etc. all over the world. This isn't just a US phenomenon. In terms of sales, it's the top selling song of the pre-digital era. Hell, it went top 10 in the UK a few years ago and continuously sells well there and other countries. It's had huge resurgences in Sweden, Canada, Ireland, etc.

I don't know all the media Survivor or Journey had appeard in, but like 99% of the films, video games and tv shows are made in the USA. If you look to music streaming media, Journey is by far the most popular on Spotify, although Survivor is by far the most popular on Youtube. Almost all of your and mine speculation are about the USA. If you look global, not just USA, but also Europe, Asia, Australia, I still think Survivor is the most recognized.
