Due to the "updated" recurrent rules, You & Me is BACK on the AC chart! :( The AC recurrent rule now is 26/15 and 52/10.
Way to go to make the chart even slower!!! :(

But yeah, they did get rid of R&R's 52/5 rule (or whatever it was), which allowed "You & Me" back on (for all eternity, it appears).

Well I, for one, am glad that they've brought back the 50/10 rule in place of the 50/5 rule. As I said in another thread, if a song is one of the ten most played songs at AC radio, then it should be on the charts. I was beginning to fear that they'd eventually modify the rule to 50/1. But looks like that won't be happening anytime soon, and that's alright with me.

Are you referring to the new R&R charts, or Mediabase charts?

Are you referring to the new R&R charts, or Mediabase charts? New R&R charts, I believe. It looks like (for now) Mediabase is keeping the R&R recurrent rules, which is pretty cool.

Dont worry, in 3 months the whole chart will be purged again w/ our 4 weeks of xmas music! Just when it's FINALLY taking more than 100 spins to get to #30 again lol.
I'm wondering though, it seems like Hot AC stations are going to more all xmas, so will we ever see it happen there?

^Ah, but how do we know that? Perhaps R&R will keep the same rule about temporarily dropping the stations playing non-stop Christmas music. In that case, only a handful of Christmas songs would chart, and in the lower reaches of the chart.

With such a small amount of spins required to land on the bottom of the AC chart, maybe it makes sense after all why some tracks linger for SO LONG on the top 20.
