I love discovering new music, but lately I've been having trouble finding new stuff that I actually enjoy. Usually I find stuff on youtube, articles from country news websites, pulse, spotify playlists, etc. Does anyone have a source they can recommend or any non-mainstream artists that they think I might like??
My favorites are Miranda Lambert, Ashley Monroe, Angaleena Presley, the Pistol Annies (I like them together and as solo acts lol), Kacey Musgraves, George Strait, Blake Shelton, Dixie Chicks, Josh Turner, Alan Jackson, Lee Ann Womack, etc... the more traditional type acts (not a fan of bro-country or overly pop country).
Thanks!

iTunes is still a pretty good way, and if you have it Sirius radio can expose you to a lot of new names as well. I've found many artists just by searching for rarities on iTunes, or looking through their self made playlists.

You could try Saving Country Music, a lot of underground/alt country is featured there if you're into that. And lately i've been finding all news of new music releases right here from Pulse :)

I mostly learn of new and non-mainstream artists through country blogs. They often feature album reviews and end-of-year best lists, which can be extremely helpful for getting ideas. Saving Country Music is probably the biggest and one of the best right now, but there's tons of great ones.
If you have an artist you want to check out but are not sure where to start in their discography, Allmusic is a great site for that. They have reviews for a vast number of albums, and any album that receives four stars or better is probably worth your time. Naturally I don't always agree with their reviews, but they steer me right more often than not.

I discover new artists through Last.fm, Pandora, Spotify, Allmusic and country blogs. I have to give thanks to Andy for telling me about Allmusic and all those country blogs. Allmusic is such a fantastic site for getting into new artists with large discographies.

I really like an online service called Rdio. You can make personalized radio stations, and they will add other artists in the mix that are similar to your taste.
ITunes also has the ITunes genius feature, which will recommend music based on your purchases and history.

Countrybear.com plays a lot of new independent artists. I haven't listened to them in quite awhile, but I just clicked over there and looked at their current playlist:
Time Song Artist 18:42 When I've Been Drinkin' Jon Pardi 18:45 The Three Bells Auldridge/Douglas/Ickes 18:49 Burnin' It Down Jason Aldean 18:53 The Air That I Breathe Rex Allen Jr. 18:57 Up To No Good Jaiy Randy Band 19:00 Hey Son Fergal Flaherty 19:04 Walking Her Home Mark Schultz 19:08 The World's Out Dancin' Jody Lynn

Usually on iTunes or iHeart Radio.
Speaking of "new" songs, I just heard Baby Girl (Sugarland) and I really love it, but there's 4 different versions of it on iTunes! Which one is the right one? (and why so many versions? It's kind of ridiculous)
