I think the last single they made that I liked was "Last Resort". Last Resort is by far their worst single. That's the Take Me To Church/1000HP of 2000. Good God it sucks. that's the only why I can tolerate Scars and Forever are kind of okay.

I think it's a good song but I don't think it's aged well. Like holy shit those lyrics take suicidal to the max. And since Baron probably dislikes Papa Roach too much to do it, i'll rank their singles. Last Resort: B+ Broken Home: A Between Angels and Insects: A+She Loves Me Not: B+ Time and Time Again: B- Getting Away With Murder: B Scars: A+Take Me: A- ...To Be Loved: B- Forever: A Time Is Running Out: B+ Reckless: B+ Hollywood Whore: B Lifeline: A I Almost Told You That I Loved You: B- Had Enough: A Kick In The Teeth: C Burn: C- No Matter What: C+ Still Swingin': B+ Where Did The Angels Go?: A Leader of the Broken Hearts: A Face Everything And Rise: B+ Little early to rate but I'm digging it. It just makes me feel really good. I also like how their first single was about committing suicide and now he's singing about never giving up no matter what you face. As you can see, I'm a big Papa Roach fan and have been since I was a kid.

Like holy s**t those lyrics take suicidal to the max. "She Loves Me Not" has aged even worse, to the point of nearly being cringe-worthy.

F**k this thread for reminding me "I Almost Told You That I Loved You" existed. That song is TERRIBLE.

F**k this thread for reminding me "I Almost Told You That I Loved You" existed. That song is TERRIBLE. I spent the afternoon re-listening to all of these songs to five a fair opinion on them. I never recalled how incredibly bad that song was. Probably the worst song they've ever made. Hence, the F rating I gave.

This new song is awful. That being said. This is a band that has never struck a positive chord with me. They strike me as a band who can't make up thier mind what they want to sound like? The few songs I do like from them are some of my favs, So rather than post a bunch of low scores on other songs I really never could even listen to all the way through, I'll only grade the 5 songs that managed to impress me.
Last Resort C- Scars A Time is Running Out B+ Had Enough A-(good Rock n' Roll song) No Matter What A-(Surprised they wrote this song) Leader of Broken Hearts B+
(Honourable Mention) Kick In The Teeth

Actually, I believe that honor goes to Saliva. Sick Puppies are a close second. Of their 3 albums, Sick Puppies are pretty consistent and also really good. Saliva is more of a fit.

Connect features more of a blend. Saliva made three completely different sounding albums, and not because of any form of artistic growth, but just to ride off of whatever was popular at the time. First they were nu-metal, then they decided to be Nickelback, and then finally they decided they were too badass for both those and were "saving" rock 'n' roll. Then finally they settled on being a bad generic version of all three.

I still don't think I'll ever understand how the hell "Always" was an alternative #1 though, haha

Song 2 by Blur is better and it only got to #6. Yep, that's my counter argument, regardless of its sense or relevance.

I think "Leaving Town" by Dester Freebish is the most underrated alternative one-hit wonder song of the 2000s.

@ I agree 100% about Dexter Freebish. Though it on neither KROQ nor 91x; I still think it was suspiciously snubbed by the airwaves. BTW, I continued following Dexter Freebish up untill 2010's 'Shine On", which sounded too One Diraction for my taste.

As far as I know Sum 41 never covered Dexter Feebish - "Leaving Town"? Much less released a more successful version of the song?
