I thought it was entertaining, but it felt like there could have been so much more. Lenny Kravitz and Missy Elliot easily stole the show. Entertaining show but I will fight anyone to the DEATH who say those vocals for Katy weren't pre-recorded. She should have just lipped the album vocals. If Madonna could lip the vocals from the Sticky & Sweet Tour and the rap from the original 1990 studio version of "Vogue", so can Katy.

The props, stages, and "special effects" were arguably the best I've ever seen at a halftime show. That lion and whatever the hell they were doing during that Dark Horse performance was all kinds of amazing. Take that away however, and Katy herself was meh. She's not a great singer and she's not a great performer, and this just emphasized that. Pink really needs to show them all how it's done one of these years, but unfortunately she's probably not considered "big" enough to get the invitation. And sadly Gaga isn't either now, although if she has a comeback I can see her getting the invite.

Mmmhh... it was good - especially the Dark Horse part's visuals -, but her performance of Teenage Dream is the absolute worst thing I've heard in the past two years. That includes "Spark The Fire", yes.

You guys are so stupid. Everyone in the bar was screaming and clapping. It was fantastic.Must be a really slow night if you're the only one there. Packed bar. Try again.

Missy was a great addition and very clever with Lenny duet on IKAG. Did she edit TD ("Let's go all the way...")? It was very family friendly. The sound was terrible. Great colors - especially the chess board on Dark Horse. A new song wouldn't have worked with that terrible sound transfer. KP did a good job as I expected - she does know how to work a stage - she is anything but lazy. And, yeah, not really a fan of "Firework" and it just sounds tired.

I think this shows that newer artists shouldn't play the Super Bowl. Missy coming in and taking over for a significant amount of time was a perfect example of this. I was like uh, why is Missy Elliott performing her greatest hits during Katy Perry's show? Bruno Mars and Beyonce received rave reviews for their performances. The Who were hilariously bad. You can find examples to support either side.

Fantastic pre-recorded vocals that sounded live enough to prevent criticism but are infinitely better than the disaster that would have been her actually singing live. Bravo to her sound engineers.
Too much Missy and not enough Lenny.
The whole cartoon trees and sharks thing was a fucking MESS. AWFUL. She should have had a set up like she had at the Grammys when she performed Teenage Dream, the one visual that actually does her best song justice (even the music video sucks).
Solid set list and finale, entrance could have been a bit more dynamic but it was a cool concept and memorable.
But overall Beyonce, Bruno and now Katy just reaffirm that no one can quite choreograph and set up a performance like Madonna, which is why her show remains superior.

Lipped, adequate transitions, nothing spectacular happened. It wasn't amazing. It was fine. If I were to have looked away for a few minutes, I wouldn't have missed anything. Must be a really slow night if you're the only one there. Packed bar. Try again. They were probably clapping because of her boobs in that dress.

I was like uh, why is Missy Elliott performing her greatest hits during Katy Perry's show? It then became the Missy show. She was more memorable than Katy.

I have to laugh thinking back to the TD era when that was still relatively new and everyone was saying it was the song that would stand the test of time and hold up as her signature hit. Lol, nope.

That was the most anti-climactic half-time show in about a decade. The Who? Black Eyed Peas? I'll take Fergie and her 3 not-so Wise Men over Katy's performance and The Who played the CSI theme song. No match.

Well, true. Beyonce really isn't "new" though. She's been around for awhile. Bruno was great too but I was just thinking today that I would have LOVED to see him perform "Uptown Funk" at the Super Bowl at some point. It would have been epic!

Nothing all that exciting, but a decent performance. (Side note: not really any interesting music syncs yet in these ads either...bummer.) I'll be shocked if next year's performer is anyone other than Taylor Swift. I was thinking 2017 so it's part of her next era, rather than being in her "off" year of sorts. Maybe Rihanna next year? (edit: ooh yeah your Maroon 5 prediction is spot-on too , especially considering it's NBC edit again: oh they don't have it again until '18)

#BritneySpearsHalftime2016 Nah, we should have someone who sings live for next year's show. 2 lip syncers in a row is too much. We can switch off every other year ;)

Madonna, Beyonce, Prince, Bruno Mars, Janet Jackson, Michael Jackson, Bruce Springsteen, and Diana Ross easily have had the best halftime shows of all time. That's Katy's biggest problem. Those halftime shows have had iconic moments. Diana's was legendary. Then comes Katy Perry... . She wasn't a good choice.
