Katy's Performance was so beautiful and memorable! It was about putting on a show more than anything else and she sang enough of each song and carried the show like it was her own concert.
I'm just happy everyone else got to see it!

I loved Katy's performance. She's not the most consistent live vocalist, but tonight was a pretty good night for her. The chess board was epic, and the singing beach balls were a blast. Lenny and Missy were great too.

Madonna, Beyonce, Prince, Bruno Mars, Janet Jackson, Michael Jackson, Bruce Springsteen, and Diana Ross easily have had the best halftime shows of all time. Agreed on all but Springsteen, who bored me and I have no recollection of the show. U2 was pretty memorable, even though I hate Bono.

On a side note, I'm really surprised Katy didn't release a new song shortly before the Super Bowl. I think that would have been a very smart marketing move. I wonder why they didn't?

I thought Katy Perry did alright. Madonna and Beyonce were way better, but the visuals for Katy's show were pretty nice on the whole and the song selection was solid.

I thought it was good! I don't care if she lipped. It was entertaining and fun. I was nice to see Missy.

Britney has a hard enough time investing and fighting off the stress of a normal concert performance. Put her in the superbowl and she would literally probably relapse into a breakdown again from the stress. That would be an awful, awful thing to do to her. They should have had her circa '04-'05 when she was at the peak of her performance skills. And who knows, maybe she would have been '05 if not for Nipplegate.

Nice show, but I am subtracting points for lip-syncing and Missy Elliott.

Nice show, but I am subtracting points for lip-syncing. THIS. I'm sorry but I just can't get past SINGERS not SINGING during their own performances, especially something as epic as the Super Bowl. I'm sorry but like IT'S YOUR ONE JOB! SING! YOU MAKE MUSIC! or AT THE VERY LEAST, use vocal backing! (vent over)

Oh, and 2016 belongs to Carrie. If it weren't for her pregnancy, Katy would've been sitting at home watching a real singer. ;)

JT mentioned nothing about Katy but tweeted "MISSY". Shade or naw? There are celebrities who would have no reason to hate Katy Perry (no obvious Taylor Swift connection) that did the same thing. Missy was really respected by anyone who grew up in the 90s and 2000s, and she was awesome.

I just feel like it's not the best move because it can be interpreted as shade so I feel like should have tweeted something about Katy too...unless it really was shade.

Not saying it was but I'm just saying it would have been smart to mention something about Katy, being a huge music artist, as well to prevent that misconception. Plus, he knows how big of a deal it is to perform the Halftime show so he should have said something IMO.

Missy was really respected by anyone who grew up in the 90s and 2000s, and she was awesome. Seeing her made me feel so nostalgic. It was like 2001 or 2005 all over again when she took the stage. I was in high school during Missy's heyday and nearly everyone liked or loved her. "Get Ur Freak On", "Lick Shots", "Gossip Folks", and "Work It" were massive local hits here.

Of course JT was throwing shade. That's so him.
Anyhow, I missed it. How were the guest performances?!

The issue Swift has with her being the halftime performer is that, if Pepsi renews their contract with the NFL again, it could restrict her from doing it. She's Diet Coke's endorsement. Oh, and 2016 belongs to Carrie. If it weren't for her pregnancy, Katy would've been sitting at home watching a real singer. ;) LOL Carrie??? It makes me LOL that people actually say "LOL" to her being an option when it actually may very well happen. Y'all are gonna be pressed as s**t when she's announced in the next year or three and I'll love every second of it.

Ok, finally got to watch it and catch up.
I was hoping Kim Jong un would have come out during Firework...
And I won't lie, I want one of those beach ball costumes. Say what we will about Katy but that setup was super cute. Superbowl cute? No. But cute for her.

I enjoyed it! The special affects were AMAZING. ...and MISSY!! :o She was great, but I didn't really get the point of it? It really did feel like she pretty much turned into her own halftime show... Aside from the awkward dancing and horribly lipping during California Girls...not bad!

Katy Perry was good. She played to her strengths - she can't dance like Beyonce and, while a decent vocalist, isn't going to give a ridiculously memorable vocal performance.
She made it look like a party. I wanted to get up and join her dancing and singing. She did what she does best - gave a fun, colorful performance.
It all depends on what you like. I love watching someone get up and have a hell of a time, and that's what she did. Beyonce did what she did best, and Katy did what she does best.
