Fergie's sounds more like a promo single they threw out there, I've played it twenty times and can barely remember it. Gwen wins this one.

Gwen's is bland and dated, but Fergie's just... isn't good.

Gwen has always wiped the floor with Fergie for me and this isn't an exception. BDL has its weaknesses, but the chorus of Fergie's single is extremely terrible.

Gwen for now surprisingly. "LA Love" is starting to grow on me though.

Gwen, but both are a bit lackluster.

Not crazy about either final product, but Gwen pretty easily.

Both of these are B-/C+ level songs for me. Any nobody could've released Fergie's song, no flavor whatsoever (I wish people would stop trying to make DJ Mustard happen). And Gwen sounds completely lifeless on hers.
Both of these women usually have so much personality on record, where the hell is it? They both sound like they're sleepwalking.
Gwen for now.

Fergie COULD have taken this if the hook wasn't so, so terrible. If she would have gotten a hook like 2 On or Don't Tell Em, that song would've been 1000% stronger. Gwen's is nice but nothing close to her peak material. So Gwen.
Although honestly, I don't really know why they're even being compared. Fergie had a some good songs at the time but she never really matched Gwen's artistry at all. Gwen's album material (with a few notable exceptions) both stand up today as great pop works whereas most of The Dutchess has kind of shown itself to be very of the moment and disposable.

Both songs could have been so much better, however overall, bland or not, 'BDL' is better? I'm really not impressed w/either track.

definitely Gwen on this . not blown away by either and the Fergie song is catchy enough but lyrics could have been better.

Gwen Stefani on this one and not by much of a lead. The DJ Mustard beat is good on Fergie's track but that is it.

They're being compared because they both were at their peak as solo artists around the same time. People are just bringing 2006 into 2014 since that's their common denominator-- whether their artistry is similar or not doesn't have a lot to do with it. But, yeah, agreed overall.

It took a while to grow on me, but L.A.Love hits HARD. I'm not sure I agree with the underlying message of the song, but Ferg delivered on this track. I love the Atlanta line.
Conversely, I cringe every time I hear the bridge on Gwen's track.

I don't really like either track, but I'd go with "Baby Don't Lie."
