This is probably my favorite Calvin song, so it's a real shame it doesn't look like it's gonna go much farther. I didn't even like "Blame" that much, so the fact that this is performing just as well digitally but isn't coming close to that one's radio performance is irritating.
"Love Me Like You Do" is probably holding this back a bit tbh.

This is getting lost in the shuffle because it sucks. The instrumental is a rehash of Summer, just in a different key.

Don't get me wrong, I like them (and especially this song), but still.. He didn't even bother changing keys for Blame and I Need Your Love, kept them both at D#. Probably the most unique of his singles from 2013- would be Sweet Nothing, but even then not drastically.

^I suppose you're talking US singles, but still, "Pray To God" would like a word with you both. So would "Thinking About You", in fact.

I hope this can go further, but this is still another major success I'd say.
Is there any word of a followup to CHR? I'm assuming they're just leaving Open Wide for Rhythmic.

Pray To God flopped in the UK, so they're probably gonna skip that one here

Is there any word of a followup to CHR? I'm assuming they're just leaving Open Wide for Rhythmic. This is an interesting topic Albie and I discussed on Calvin's thread back in December and I brought it back a month ago before Calvin's Armani underwear photoshoot came out and changed the course of it ( link / link) Anyway, back on topic, there's still anything about a follow-up CHR/Pop single, but I'll stuck with the options I mentioned in the latter ("Open Wide" or "Pray to God") and adding the possibility that a new single may be announced around April. The reason I still don't rule "Open Wide" out is that this has received 15 CHR/Pop adds so far without an impacting date, although it's not currently active as CNM on both CHR/Pop and Rhythmic formats since late January on AllAccess (*) and it was at #58 in the last CHR/Pop published update Invince posted. On the other hand, "Pray to God" has done really well (it's at #77 in the last CHR/Pop published update) with the support from KEGY-FM, XHTZ-FM and KAMP-FM ( link), which the latter opted to add the track instead of "Outside", so I don't see why other CHR/Pop radio stations would pick it. Regarding the announcement of a new single, I think that it will happen soon because "Pray to God" is done in Australia, which it was the first country to pick the song. Also, I assume it will be the last single to be from the album if it's considered that 18 Months had three singles ("Drinking from the Bottle", "I Need Your Love" and "Thinking About You") post the release of it and Motion has already two ("Outside" and "Pray to God"). (+)Finally, if someone wants my opinion, I would say release "Pray to God" as the last US single and "Faith" as the last international one. Obviously, I will be in the minority with the latter. Pray To God flopped in the UK, so they're probably gonna skip that one here I personally don't consider "Pray to God" as a flop because it reached the Top 40 there (-), but I could say that it underperformed in comparison with his other singles if it's taken into consideration that all of them have debuted/reached into the Top 10 since "Bounce". And I don't think this could may a reason for skipping the track over there. I mean, "Lights" is a proof that a song could do really well in the US, despite it didn't in the UK before. (*) I wrote not currently active because "Open Wide" doesn't appear as under CNM on both formats on AllAccess, but it does if you search the track. Weird. (+) I'm considering UK releases because "Outside" was out as the second WW instant grat, besides the UK, from the album. (-) Actually, all of his singles have got into the Top 40, bar "Merrymaking at My Place", which reached at #43, becoming his lowest peaking there so far.

Juan, top 40 is a flop for him. The UK charts work differently and a Top40 is like barely scraping the Hot 100.

Juan, top 40 is a flop for him. The UK charts work differently and a Top40 is like barely scraping the Hot 100. I always multiply UK charts peaks by 2 to devise a rough idea of a US chart equivalent. For instance, scraping the top 20 on the Hot 100 is about an equal sized hit as scraping the top 10 in the UK.

Its no secret that I would love for "Pray To God" to be the next US single on Pop. Its too perfect to miss, although, selfishly, I wouldn't mind if they went with something else only because this song has gotten full-on single treatment in my market as its been playing pretty strong since December. However, I would hate for anyone to be deprived of discovering the gem that is PTG. If its not going to be PTG, my next pick would be "Love Now" though I doubt that would happen. "Faith" is in the mix there too, I suppose but not my first choice. Months ago I might have counted "Together" as a possible single but Gwen has lost the little momentum she may have had and she's not on The Voice anymore either so that's out. I feel like Tinashe has got some traction going so I wouldn't mind seeing "Dollar Signs" get the release. It's one of my favorites. I'm still not sold on "Open Wide" but I could see that taking over on Pop if it does end up doing well on Rhythmic. That song got a lot of play over here too in the last few months (as another follow-up to "Blame") so I am ready to move on since its not my fave anyway.

I guess I'm in denial and a little bitter that I don't want to accept that "Pray to God" didn't do as much as I would have expected in the UK because it's one of my favourite tracks from Motion

I didn't consider "Together" mainly because of the things you mentioned and I agree with that. I remember when Calvin announced that he had a song with Gwen, I got excited and I definitely thought that this would be chosen as a single either if the track was good or not, but I don't think it would happen, despite he mentioned that he wanted to release it. Actually, "Love Now" is my second choice if "Faith" isn't the next single, but I'm not too confident about this. Regarding "Dollar Signs", I think it could go either way.
