I've always enjoyed me some gritty Travis Tritt. I've only seen him in concert once and it was when he was headlining with Little Texas and Trisha Yearwood in probably 1993. I'll never forget the news that he got the crowd so into the show that the venue in Omaha had to forever make changes to way they handle security at concerts. I remember him putting on one hell of a show and the crowd was just very much into it.
Favorites: 1. Where Corn Don't Grow (ouch, guess I'm in the minority on this great tune) 2. Tell Me I Was Dreaming 3. I'm Gonna Be Somebody 4. Modern Day Bonnie and Clyde 5. More Than You'll Ever Know (love the video as well) 6. Foolish Pride 7. Help Me Hold On 8. Anymore 9. Drift off to Dream 10. Lord Have Mercy on the Working Man (I've always enjoyed this too much...I attribute it to growing up with CMT in the early 90's)
Least Favorites: The Girls Gone Wild Ten Feet Tall and Bulletproof Country Club

1. Where Corn Don't Grow (ouch, guess I'm in the minority on this great tune) I think it's a great song with a fantastic lyric and message - I just happen to prefer Waylon's original, which I think has a more biting vocal. Nothing against Travis, but it's very hard to top Waylon in my eyes. I seem to be in the minority when it comes to "Nothing Short of Dying." I think it's an outstanding neotraditional ballad and the kind of song I wish Travis had recorded more of after his first few albums.

Favorites: 1. Where Corn Don't Grow (ouch, guess I'm in the minority on this great tune) Me and Ten Pound Hammer both put it in out top 6 Travis tunes. :) Judging by the numbers of who's put "Where Corn Don't Grow" where, it goes. Top: 3 votes Bottom: 2 votes

Travis was my favorite artist from the 90's and was the soundtrack behind my younger years. He is one of the few "younger" artists that I put on a pedestal with the legends like Jones & Haggard etc etc. I'll exclude album tracks cause Ill be here all day other wise.
TOP:
1. Where Corn Don't Grow 2. Modern Day Bonnie and Clyde 3. Here's A Quarter (Call Someone Who Cares) 4. Put Some Drive In Your Country 5. Sometimes She Forgets (one of my very favorite Steve Earle written tunes 6. Country Club 7. It's a Great Day to Be Alive 8. Country Ain't Country (he seen it coming) 9. Ten Feet Tall and Bulletproof 10. This One's Gonna Hurt You(For a Long, Long Time)(my favorite among the Marty Stuart collaborations) 11. The Whiskey Aint Workin 12. Start The Car (No it wasn't really country but I loved this song) 13. Lonesome Onery & Mean (Waylon is one of my favorites & this is my favorite song from him , but Travis just nails it) 14. Between An Old Memory & Me (see #13 but substitute Whitley for Waylon) Though I don't know whose version I love more) 15. Can I Trust You with My Heart 16. I See Me 17. Looking Out for Number One 18. It's a Great Day to Be Alive 19. Move It On Over (I about drove my ex wife insane when I bought the King Of The Hill soundtrack just to play this song over & over & over) 20. No More Looking Over My Shoulder 21.Bible Belt (not officially a single , but it did chart)
BOTTOM: 1. Girls Gone Wild (wow, we CAN all agree on something) 2. Tell Me I Was Dreaming (a little to far into the Rock power ballad area for my tastes) 3. Anymore (Not really bad , I just got really burned out on it) 4. More Than You'll Ever Know (this one just always struck me as really boring) 5. You Never Take Me Dancing ( i remember being so disappointed when this was released) 6. Love of a Woman (again , boring) 7. Strong Enough to Be Your Man (why Travis, just why?)

Travis is my favorite 90's artist too, he and Patty Loveless would compete for that honor. And I'm going to see Travis in less than 2 weeks, so the least I could do is a top 5 (or top 50) and bottom 5.
1. It's A Great Day To Be Alive -- Darrell Scott's my favorite songwriter this side of Merle, and Travis changed some of the words and improved this song 2. Sometimes She Forgets 3. Foolish Pride 4. Where Corn Don't Grow 5. Here's A Quarter 6. I'm Gonna Be Somebody 7. Out Of Control Raging Fire (w/ Patty Loveless) -- I had to include an album track here, or else I'm not bringing anything new to the thread 8. The Whiskey Ain't Workin' Anymore (w/ Marty Stuart) 9. You Never Take Me Dancing 10. Anymore 11. Modern Day Bonnie And Clyde 12. Best Of Intentions 13. Tell Me I Was Dreamin' 14. Nothing Short Of Dying 15. T-R-O-U-B-L-E
(showing some discipline, I will hold this to a top 15)
and I can find 3 I don't really like, right?
1. The Girl's Gone Wild 2. Love Of A Woman 3. [looks like didn't find 3]

I'm guess I'm the odd man out in the sense that I absolutely love "Love of a Woman." I have all the lyrics memorized and it's one of those songs I have to crank up and sing along to whenever it comes on. I love just about every aspect of it - the melody, the message of the lyrics, Tritt's vocal, etc. It's cool how we're all unique. :)
