In my opinion, these songs could have all become hits as well if they had been released as singles.
Which FIVE do you think would have been a success?

My favorite in the poll is easily "Good In Goodbye." Radio is a huge part of why Carrie became successful, and honestly I'd say any of these would have become hits, had they been released as singles. My ranking: Flat On The Floor Get Outta This Town I Know You Won't One Way Ticket Songs Like This The Night Before Someday When I Stop Loving You No "Wine After Whiskey?" I've always loved "You Won't Find This;" I would have killed to see it as a single. Shame on you.

"Get Out Of This Town" "Good In Goodbye" "The Night Before (Life Goes On)" "I Know You Won't" "Someday When I Stop Loving You"

I feel like Quitter was her ONE "should have been smash." That one could've been a big crossover smash. She opened the door for people like Taylor to work with big time pop producers like Max Martin.

Of the options listed: Starts with Goodbye Get Out of This Town Quitter Someday When I Stop Loving You Good in Goodbye
Others I would've included: I Ain't in Checotah Anymore You Won't Find This Do You Think About Me

This is missing so many potential smashes: "You Won't Find This", "Wine After Whiskey", "Do You Think About Me?", and "What Can I Say?" come to mind as some glaring omissions from this poll.
Of the choices:
"Starts With Goodbye" "I Know You Won't" "Songs Like This" "One Way Ticket" - could have been a monstrous summer hit.
Others that could have done very well:
"Someday When I Stop Loving You" "The Night Before (Life Goes On)" "Flat on the Floor"
... Not a huge proponent of the other choices, but they probably all would have done well. I don't think any of them would fail to keep her top 2 streak alive.

I'm STILL bitter than "Good In Goodbye" wasn't a single. That's probably my favorite Carrie song.

"Quitter" "I Know You Won't" "Good in Goodbye" "Wine After Whiskey" "What Can I Say?" (feat. Sons of Sylvia) -- This could've been a monster crossover success. Forever livid that it wasn't released. Forever livid at the way the whole Play On era was handled in general, too.

^ so much truth about What Can I Say.
My picks from the list (in order):
1. I Know You Won't 2. Starts With Goodbye 3. Good with Goodbye 4. Flat on the Floor 5. Get Out of This Town
Almost everything from Some Hearts is single material. That's Where It Is will forever be one of my favs.

Ugh.
Carrie (and her label) frustrate me when it comes to deciding which songs become singles. It's not necessarily that they pick bad ones... it's just that they've ended her last two era's too soon and left a lot of obvious hits on the album. I didn't follow Carrie as much before Play On so I'm not as familiar with the album tracks on her first two albums.
"Quitter" "Songs Like This" "Someday When I Stop Loving You" "What Can I Say?" "Do You Think About Me" "Good In Goodbye" "Cupid's Got A Shotgun" "Wine After Whiskey"
^ Those all would have been good singles, IMO. I voted for the bolded ones. The Play On album tracks (above) probably bother me the most... just because I like all four of those songs more than any of the singles released that era. Blown Away had good singles but they definitely could have released one or two more.

Flat On the Floor I Know You Won't Quitter Songs Like This One Way Ticket
I personally consider "What Can I Say" to be the biggest missed opportunity of her career as far as singles go. "One Way Ticket" was definitely a huge potential summer smash, as someone mentioned above. "Quitter", "Do You Think About Me" and "Wine After Whiskey" also would've been successful.
I don't know why so many people still think that "Someday When I Stop Loving You" should've been a single from Play On though. I used to wish it was a single too, and it's a great song (possibly one her best), but looking back I don't think it would've made for a good single on the radio.

It would've been better than Mama's Song, and that reason alone would've made it a good single.

Starts With Goodbye is her biggest missed opportunity pop hit. The song was pretty much built for pop/hac to play the heck out of (it sounds like a pop song to start with), and coming right off of BHC's runaway crossover success it would have been beyond easy for it to be a big pop hit follow up. SWISLY is her biggest country missed hit, because it's the perfect, beautiful country ballad. There's no way country wouldn't have been all over a song like that from a name like her. At least at that time. Mama's Song getting released over it was pretty much like if they had decided to release I Ain't In Checotah Anymore over Before He Cheats. Absolutely zero logic there.
Also write in for Blown Away as a crossover hit, since it never got a true pop push, which is just mind boggling to me to this day.

Quitter - This could've smashed so hard.
Carrie has sooo many great tracks on her albums that wasn't singles.
