Nickelback are a staple in Active Rock. Which begs the question just who are all these haters if Nickelback's Rock singles almost always slay the charts. Don't hate me for saying so, but Foo Fighters, watch out! Nickelback's cumming at ya a Million Miles an Hour.

The reason I hate Nickelback is more than just cause they're generic. I haven't listened to their past two albums, but I also dislike their lyrics, their ballads, their pop radio songs, and chanting. And yes I do own a Nickelback album, "Silver Side Up"

I think I like this more than the other singles from No Fixed Address. The chorus is my favorite part of the song, it's got a great build-up.

You can go ahead and listen to "What Are You Waiting For?" if you want, it's a classic Nickelback pop anthem with synths replacing most of the guitar.

Decent track...and the obvious 2nd single for Active. (Not much of a fan of the filter on his voice during the verses, though.)
Certainly not feeling the album. IMO, it's the band's worst.

I was actually pleasantly surprised with No Fixed Address. A few songs have that Finger Eleven - "Paralyzer" vibe to them. Chad's raspy- style vocals also go hand in hand with that style. "Sister Sin" Has a real cool Southern vibe to it. It's definately a Nickelback album. No doubt there, cause every song has radio potential, so Chad knows how to write music.

It's definitely a Nickelback album, cause every song has radio potential. That's what they're counting on, but in the US "What Are You Waiting For?" couldn't even break Billboard's Hot 100. (At least it fared decently in other regions.) I guess I shouldn't be too surprised over their conversion to fully embracing a future as mainstays on US Hot AC and Adult Top 40 radio (and obvious hopes of returning to the US Top 40 pop charts). It's a disappointment to me however that 90% of the album is in that vein. Active Rock has been so good to the band, but after only working two tracks from "Here and Now" to the format, and now releasing essentially a pop-leaning rock album...it seems to me the band/label has consciously chosen to focus on regaining traction on the singles charts. I'm glad you like the cd...I certainly wanted to. At least there are a couple of tracks I'm into. "The Hammer's Coming Down" is starting to grow on me.

I'm a bit surprised this is cruising so quickly, but good for Nickelback.

Although I fear its too soft for rock radio and maybe too aggressive for current pop radio. Its hard to know where it would work best.

Even though I wouldn't mind if all their songs hit #1 on the Hot 100; The best thing for Nickelback now, would be to completely flop on Mainstream Pop, and just go back to 100% Rock. If anything they learn that Rock fans are a Million times more loyal that mainstream pop fans are.

I think "The Hammer's Coming Down" and "Sister Sin" could work on both Alt (to an extent)/Rock, and "Make Me Believe Again" could potentially crossover from Rock to Pop (it'll probably fail to do much like previous crossover attempts, "Hurricane", "Tonight", "Unity"). My guess is they'll go with "Get 'Em Up" next for Rock, then maybe try a little something different for the next one if they do go further.

Will they even work a 3rd song from "No Fixed Address" to Active? They obviously should...but again, they only (surprisingly) pushed two songs at Active from "Here and Now", an album that they could have easily gone 3-4 singles deep on rock radio. If they do, I agree with the consensus that "Get 'Em Up" would be the likely 3rd single. But I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who is liking "The Hammer's Coming Down".

I think they are either going to push the living f*ck out of this album (ala Dark Horse) or leave it in the dust after this and one more flop pop single ( Here and Now). The album is not doing all that great, especially for a Nickelback album, so maybe they'll push more to get sales up. There's not many Rock choice after this and "Get 'Em Up" unless they go a little untraditional, but there are many Pop singles. "She Keeps Me Up" is rumored as the next Pop single, and I doubt they'll pass over "Got Me Runnin' Round" since it has Flo Rida, so I'd assume they'd send more singles to Rock to balance it. My guess: They flop with their next Pop single, have a Top 10 Active single, flop with the Flo Rida song, then call it quits on the album. They really should have gone all rock for this album. Wouldn't surprise me if they did do mostly rock for the next one.

I could see "Make Me Believe Again" work well on Active if they pushed it as a ballad. I don't see much difference between something like that and "Torn To Pieces" or "Until It's Gone" earlier this year.

They've always been able to even out the Rock with the pop on past albums but they definitely slacked on doing heavy songs for this album which is a shame. Saying that some of less heavy songs like "Hammers Coming Down" and "Make Me Believe Again" are much better than lots of the heavier rockers off the last two albums, like "Gotta Get Me Some", "S.E.X", "Next Go Round", "Everything I Wanna Do'.

I think they'll follow the same pattern as their last album. Release a few rock tracks and focus on Pop. Maybe next album will feature even more rappers.

I don't like it. It's too repetitive and the song seems to drag on and on. I always lose interest before I even make it halfway through the song. I've been hearing it on the radio quite a bit. It's not really bad, there's just not enough to it. "Edge of A Revolution" was really good and I'm not ashamed to say that I've always liked Nickelback, but I can't get into this one.
