I had a feeling this one was coming! The Avener's hit single "Fade Out Lines" has reached the top five in Austria, Germany (both #1s), France, Switzerland, and Denmark, and is now headed stateside through Republic (ETA: the digital release was through Republic imprint Casablanca). Impacts Alternative on January 20, according to Republic Playbook.

It's like a more bluesy take on "Stolen Dance" (right down to the whole format of repeating guitar riff + kick drum for the instrumentation) but without the overly slurred vocals and with less awkwardly-phrased lyrics. Enjoyed it way more than Milky Chance on first listen, think this could be a grower.

Big sync coming for this one next year, according to Republic Playbook: the opening scene of 50 Shades of Grey.

The singer sounds like a 60's crooner, so hearing it on top of that psuedo-"Stolen Dance" beat is really jarring.

Been obsessed with this for a while now. I hope the US push is still around the corner. Sounds more like a pop hit than an alt hit though, even if it does take a crappy remix.

Impacts AAA on March 16, according to FMQB.
By the way, do we have any idea if this actually ended up in 50 Shades of Grey? It's not on the soundtrack and I haven't seen any mention of it since Playbook first said it, so maybe that was scrapped.

Top 50 Triple A
I like this. I hear the "Stolen Dance" similarity, but I hated that and like this. Great chorus.

ooh about time (even though I think it fell off already )
one of my local pop stations actually added this back at the start of the year, kinda burned out on it a bit but wouldn't mind this seeing success here
