She hasn't made a wrong move yet, so I'm just excited by the prospect of a new album so soon. But I'm sad that her "Music to Watch Boys To" EP for Ultraviolence seems to have disappeared.

I forgot about Ultraviolence, and the songs involved (which is why her singles flopped on my personal chart) but it was a damn good album!
Can't wait for this one! :)

I'm not sure if I'll like the jazz direction but my 2nd favorite artist ever has never disappointed me so why not? Eventhough Ultraviolence was released 6 months ago and we recently got the 2 soundtrack songs, I already miss her and feel like it's been forever since we last heard from her.

Can't wait for new music. Still play BTD often and most of Ultraviolence. She quickly became my favorite artist and I can't wait to see her for my 3rd time in June.
Feel like I read somewhere that she plans to bring some of the "cinematic" elements back into her music on her next record. I would love that. "I Can Fly" is everything I love about her.

Is it just me or Big Eyes sounds more like Florence than Lana?

I think Big Eyes is very Lana. Maybe a different persepective of her songs about relationship, but it still her.
Jazz.

She looks like a giant in that picture. Like, not her weight, but the perspective makes the man look tiny and short while she is towering over him.

She didn't even look like Lana in that picture, it looked like Lana mixed with Brittany from Glee...

This will actually be her 5th album but whatever. I can't @ people not being aware of the Lana Del Ray a.k.a. Lizzy Grant album or not recognizing Paradise as a separate album.

I think that it's understandable since Paradise was an EP not a full-length album, and Lana Del Rey a.k.a. Lizzy Grant was an LP, but it was pulled from retailers.

I think "Lana Del Ray" was like a Katy Hudson phase of her. They count Katy Hudson as Katy Perry album? Anyway Paradise is a separated album, the same case as The Fame Monster.
Anyway, i'm glad she didn't drop the 'Music to Watch Boys To' concept.

The Lana Del Ray a.k.a. Lizzy Grant album was released under her current stage name so yeah, it IS her actual debut album despite it selling close to zero and not being available for purchase anymore. It doesn't matter if it was pulled or whatever; it was still recorded and released and actually contains some of her best work.
I personally consider EPs as regular albums because why not? Yes, they contain less tracks than the average album but that doesn't take away the fact that it's brand new music and an independent, cohesive body of work, especially when they're sold as stand-alone discs. Not to mention there are countless other albums whose tracklist doesn't exceed the 10 songs point yet they're still considered as full-length albums/LPs/whatever as they should.
Anyway, I'm anxious to see how she'll bring back the cinematic effect on the new album. I cannot imagine her going back to Born To Die's production but I'm sure she'll borrow some of the elements that made that album a modern classic and mix them with the psychedelic nirvana of Ultraviolence. Summer is officially Lana season and cannot come fast enough. Seriously though, her music seems like it's perfectly suited for summer and I'd like to know if that's done on purpose or if I'm just delusional. Is anyone else celebrating her birthday on every June 21st by driving by the local coast with the windows down and screaming her hymns?

No I know and I get what you're saying, but when publishers are writing articles, they are only looking at the artists officially released full-length albums available.

Thank god she's going in a more produced direction.
Ultraviolence is good, but I think she went a little too far from the really slick production of BTD to the really rough production of UV. Something in the middle will be lovely.

Yessssss. I will be seeing her at Governor's Ball this June. I'm hoping she does some new material. I'm guessing she will if the album drops in August.

She considers Born To Die and Paradise her first two albums under "Lana Del Rey", I believe. Lizzy Grant wasn't an album recorded as the artist she is now, so to speak. I read somewhere that she said this album will be more like her first two (referring to the former two), but I can't find the source. Anyway, if that's the case then I'm on board. I couldn't really get behind Ultraviolence. I'm fine with the Music to Watch Boys To EP being shelved/reworked into a followup if all it was going to be was an extension of that.

So here for new music. Ultraviolence took time to uncover and take in, but it was well worth it. Her discography is indeed extremely strong, even the Soundtrack offerings and unreleased material don't let up. In a strange way, she reminds me somewhat of prince in how she can essentially write around the same topics over and over but still find a new angle every time and dress it to make it compelling.

Black Beauty Remixes EP was released in Germany today. She's aiming for another Summertime Sadness. I was never a fan of remixes, i didn't liked any of them tbh. Tracklist: 01 Black Beauty (LEEX Tropical Mix) 02 Black Beauty (Dinnerdate Remix) 03 Black Beauty (Lakechild Remix) iTunes

Well...Lana didn't become a Golden Globe winner today but it's OK. She is still coming to slay hard.

I sadly didn't care much for Ultraviolence as a whole. I hope this next album will pull me back in.
