He's addressing the big white elephant in the room that we have all been discussing on the interwebs for years. He's just caught on now. He's so 2000 and late.

Isn't it kind of ironic for Macklemore to be rapping about white privilege when he's been struggling to even get a hit? Whereas others like Drake are killing it without white privilege.

Those titles...
Also, one of my fraternity brothers posted his first official mix as a DJ. I saw that it included White Privilege II, made a comment about his lack of taste, and took a pass.

IDK, those titles... Hoping there are some good fun tracks in there. From the 4 I hear so far, I only like Downtown.

Does he currently have a single to promote the upcoming album?

Spoons was just a track released for Valentine's Day; nothing besides Downtown has been sent to radio but Buckshot is currently available as part of their iTunes pre-order.

I feel like there's no hype for this. Not even negative hype.

It's like they and/or the label knows this isn't a very commercial offering from them... so they aren't spending the $$ on working singles outside of Downtown. Just putting the album out and taking things from there. They really should have waited to release Downtown closer to the album release. I think it would have done better, not to mention the album itself. But shoulda woulda coulda. Sounds to me like they weren't hitting the studio mining commercial gold for this album - more an artistic release/unwinding/venting - and that's ok.

I like the album but that's as far as it goes...3/5 stars, nothing spectacular.

I really like the album when I can get past the lyrics. Why does Macklemore think he's sort of the voice of a generation who must speak on all of today's issues using cliché sentences that sound like taken from Facebook's comment section?
But overall, I like this better than The Heist.

Not a fan of the album. :/
It seemed like he was trying too hard to make another novelty hit like "Thrift Shop". I liked "Light Tunnels", "Kevin", "Need to Know", and "White Privilege II", but that's about it.

I legit LOVE this album. He still can sound like a rambling slam poet at times but overall, tighter flows and better production. I don't really use White Privilege but it's not TERRIBLE.

He still can sound like a rambling slam poet at times Thank you! That was exactly how I was trying to explain why his music goes in one ear and out the other with me to one of my friends.

Because he's so damn wordy, I feel like I HAVE to pay attention though. He has some really good lines from time to time.

They should push "Brad Pitts Cousin" to radio. Seriously. If he ever wants to have another hit, he should do it

What's the current single after all? Is it Kevin or Dance Off?

What's the current single after all? Is it Kevin or Dance Off? Dance Off was released as a single overseas; a new single in America hasn't been confirmed yet.

So Dance Off really is a single somewhere? Because not even the audio is available on his Youtube channel, so I found that odd. This whole era seems odd. I'm not even sure they know what they're doing right now.

I was taking a look at Spotify and Dance Off has some 5 mi streams already, more than Growing Up (Sloane's Song) feat. Ed Sheeran. Maybe it can be a hit if they go for it in the US.

I'm honestly really surprised they're completely holding off on the US on singles at this point. The only single they've sent so far was "Downtown". I know the album has pretty much underperformed on every front, but they could at least try and sell more units on the album with more singles and hype.
I'm going to assume that they're holding off on "Dance Off" for a little longer until it can become a possible summer hit, but they've been a bit puzzling with this era so far to say the least.
