A lot of people compared it to "Express Yourself," but I didn't think they were that similar.
This is OK but far from my favorite from Gaga.

I like You and I and The Edge of Glory more, but I can't deny I love this one too. "Don't be a drag, just be a queen" was always a favorite lyric of mine

I was really disappointed when I first heard it, but overtime, it finally clicked with me. I enjoy it a lot now, although "Judas" is my favorite single from the album.

Unlike most of the people here it was instant for me and I know what I'm talking about, have read the thread in the CHR section. The production is kind of messy, but that's the reason I love it so much. Lyrics are lame, not sorry. I prefer "Judas" over this, but it's still a good track I revisit frequently.

You know, I don't think this is the complete miss that a lot of people make it out to be. It's almost a really good song. The production is dated in just the right way, the chorus is anthemic, the first verse really sets the stage for the rest of the song...
And then that second verse happens. WTF is with the lyrics to that second verse? She seriously just gave up and wrote some lyrics to take up space. Knocks the song down like two letter grades.

Anthem! I still hear this often. This was so fucking hyped, but for me it was worth it. This takes me back to Miami, and the Born This Way album release party. A+

My least favorite single of hers. I like the country remix more than the album version

It was ok, just disappointing as a lead single.
What's interesting was this song's chart run, where despite landing 6 weeks at number 1, It went recurrent at the bottom-half of the Hot 100.

This and "You and I" are easily my least favorite singles from her to date. They're not bad, but they just feel lackluster and never did anything for me after the hype wore off. She had much better single choices off of Born This Way, even if they might not have been as successful.

I really like it, but it's not one of my favorites from her. I got extremely burnt out on it for a while though when it was getting so overplayed. The funny thing is that after that died down, I liked it more than I ever did before. The lyrics themselves might not be the best, but the overall message is great.

The production is the only good thing about it. Corny as f*ck as a song.

This sucked, such a major disappointment. Such a drop down from her prior singles, this is where her decline started.

This is easily Gaga's worst single, and I cringe whenever I hear it now.

I actually didn't mind this at the time, but it's definitely cheesy and self-indulgent. This is when she started to take herself too seriously.

I always loved this from the get go and appreciated the 80s styled production.

I had no idea Tamar did bg vocals on this. LOL.
Topic - um I've never minded this song? Not a Gaga highlight but not an abomination either, for me. I didn't realize it wasn't all that well-liked, lol, judging by most replies here. Also, I never quite heard the so called sacrilegious ripping off "Express Yourself" this apparently did. *shrug*

Still a hot mess.
The Edge of Glory should have been the lead.

Still a hot mess. The Edge of Glory should have been the lead. yeah that song deserved the 6 weeks at #1. anyway, Born This Way is good but it was obvious Gaga wasn't able to recreate the same magic she started with. The instrumental's a bit grating EDIT: Culturally this song is pretty significant. It was very progressive & ahead of its time. I remember it being pretty frowned upon when it came out
