10. "Shake It Off" - Taylor Swift Peak: #1 (2 weeks) Weeks On Chart (2014): 18 Q1: - Q2: - Q3: 10 Q4: 4 I used to hate Taylor Swift so much until 2012 when "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" came out and was the first song from her I liked. Boy was I ever converted! I consider myself to be a big fan of her music now! And this is easily my favorite song from her. It is such an earworm and so catchy and addicting! I loved the catchy instrumentals (despite them sounding ripped off of Pharrell's "Happy") and the lyrics had a positive message in them that people will judge you no matter what and you need to just keep doing you and ignoring the haters. This song really quickly grew on me, debuting at #12 with a couple days of points and jumping to #5 the next week and to #1 the week after, becoming Taylor's first #1 ever on my chart ("I Knew You Were Trouble" was reeeeeally close to getting it in January 2013!). It topped my chart for two consecutive weeks in August-September and went on to spend the next 16 weeks in the top ten (going into even 2015 charts), and 17 of its 18 weeks for 2014 were spent in the top ten (it is the lowest on this list of the 9 songs to do so this year), including 7 in the top five (it has spent 20 total weeks in the top ten as of February 2015). This song has so far peaked at #8 on my chart in 2015 and will thus likely make a return to my year-end chart of 2015. Thank you Taylor for providing me with this joyous track to enjoy this year! :)

9. "All Of Me" - John Legend Peak: #2 (4 weeks) Weeks On Chart (2014): 28 Q1: 13 Q2: 5 Q3: 16 Q4: - :'( This beautiful song is the highest song on this list to not have reached #1 on my weekly chart and holds the record for the most weeks at #2 without ever hitting #1 on my chart :( I will never get over the fact that the poor timing of this song caused it to miss the #1 spot that I feel it deserved. John sings so well and the lyrics are so romantic! It is a slow and quiet song but that did not bother me as I still enjoyed the song very much! A great song to sing to that significant other. This song is also tied with The Wanted's "Glad You Came" for the third-longest official run among songs that did not reach #1. The song did however spend 19 of its weeks in the top 10 (non-consecutive, kept bouncing in and out...just 8 of the weeks were spent in the top five). If John Legend ends up being just a one-hit wonder, well this will be a lovely tune to remember him by! The song topped R&B Songs for just one week (and that was in July! Must have spent about 15-20 weeks as the runner-up) and lands at #3 on my year-end R&B Songs chart.

8. "All About That Bass" - Meghan Trainor
Peak: #1 (2 weeks) Q1: - Q2: - Q3: 6 Q4: 5 I did this one and posted it yesterday but had to redo it because I'm a dumbass and I accidentally overwrote this one with #7 just now -___- luckily I had this long-ass paragraph saved by hitting the "back" button on the Safari browser (I use Pulse on iPad). Anyway, it was extremely close between #8 and #10 on this year-end list. First of all, according to Wikipedia this song came out on my 20th birthday last year so I will accept this as my birthday present from you, Ms. Trainor and thank you very much for this lovely present! Secondly, this song possibly never would have had nearly as much chart success as it did had Meghan not noticed me on Twitter and favorited my tweet in late September (I was pleasantly shocked when I saw the notification, needless to say, lol). I'm still devastated that the tickets for Toronto meet and greet with her sold out before I got a chance to buy one!!! I may never get an opportunity like that again...anyway, back to the song - this song easily had one of the catchiest hooks I have heard all decade and I loved the doo-wop style of it! I enjoyed this song so much beyond words regardless of what people said about it. Clearly Meghan is extremely talented and in my opinion has the voice of an angel and honestly I personally think she is VERY attractive and not fat at all! The song did have some obnoxious and hypocritical points to it, but the embedded message about self-image and loving your body is one that I appreciate and which really benefits a lot of people: particularly those who consider themselves overweight as Meghan once did (which I think is what inspired her to write this song). My favorite line from it was "every inch of you is perfect from the bottom to the top" especially because that's exactly what I think of her in terms of looks. The song debuted at #7 on my chart in August and got to #2 two weeks later and it seemed to be burning out really quickly at first and I thought it had peaked and would drop out soon but then it resurged and after the Twitter occurrence I knew I would continue to listen to this jam for a long time afterward. It spent its first 16 weeks in my top ten and went no lower than #11 in 2014 plus it got a very high position for both Q3 AND Q4 and thus ended up this high on my year-end list. It has so far peaked at #8 in 2015 and, like "Shake It Off", will likely reappear on my year-end chart for 2015. To Meghan: if for whatever reason you're reading this, please marry me, Gorgeous! <3

7. "Rude" - Magic! Peak: #1 (2 weeks) Weeks On Chart (2014): 32 Q1: - Q2: 20 Q3: 2 Q4: 17 As a Canadian citizen, I first heard this song in January and instantly thought it was fire and it debuted at #8 on my chart! However, the fire then quickly burned out and the song fell out of my chart the week after it debuted. Not that I didn't like it anymore but I just seemed to be too lazy to go out of my way to listen to it anymore. However, when I saw it start to climb on USA charts, for some reason I began to enjoy it again and listen to it in May. It then re-entered my chart and soon rose into the top ten. It finally reached the summit in July in its 12th week on my chart, becoming tied with "How To Love" and "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)" for the third-longest ever climb to #1 and was my #2 song of Q3 (summer, June 26-September 11 weeks). It spent 17 consecutive weeks in the top ten (10 of them in the top 5) and 18 total. It spent 32/52 weeks on the chart in 2014, tying it with "Rather Be" for the third-longest of any song this year. To all of you who hate this song: why you gotta be so rude??? I enjoyed this song so much! The instrumentals are really catchy and the lyrics/storyline are quite amusing - the fact that this song's lyrics were not meant to be taken seriously is what makes this song so fun, funny and enjoyable to me! Maybe now that this song is #7 on the Hot 100 year-end chart and my year-end chart the father will finally let the man marry his daughter This song has so far peaked at #6 in 2015 charts and is already in the top ten longest-running songs on my chart ever; it may appear on 2015's year-end chart as well. The song topped Folk/Alternative Songs for 16 weeks and is my year-end #1 Folk/Alternative song of 2014.

6. "The Monster" - Eminem ft. Rihanna Peak: #1 (7 weeks) Weeks On Chart: 28 Q4 (2013): 10 Q1: 4 Q2: 25 Q3: - Q4: -
I have a bit of explaining to do for this one. The reason why this song is so high is because I did not include it in the 2013 year-end chart (where it surely would've been in the top 40). Instead, I carried over its 2013 points to the 2014 year-end chart and 4 of its 7 weeks at #1 were technically in the 2013 charts. Its #10 position for Q4 of 2013 was based on inverse points as I started using straight daily point calculations only in the beginning of the 2014 charts. Anyway, this was Eminem's biggest song since 2010 when he had previously collaborated with Rihanna and I was very impressed with their performance on this song and the production. I love everything from Eminem and mostly everything from Rihanna and this song was no exception at all. Rihanna killed that chorus and Eminem's rapping was on point and there were some very relatable lyrics. This song was so energetic and always got me pumped up, particularly during final exams in my 1A term which was when that song was at its peak (November-December 2013). Not gonna lie, this is my favorite song from the album. It doesn't really compare to old classics like "Lose Yourself" of course but it still was a mighty fine track IMO. I also think it was unfairly robbed of some weeks at #1 on the Hot 100 before it finally officially hit #1. It debuted at #1 in Canada because we appreciate the fire more this song debuted at #10 on my chart and jumped to #1 the next week, starting its 7-week non-consecutive run at #1 that would last until January. Unfortunately though, after the first couple of months of endless jamming to this fire, this song started to burn out on me (pun not intended) and fell really quickly. It's a surprise how it ended up rebounding and staying on the chart for 28 total weeks until May. Otherwise it may not have made my year-end top ten, even with the 2013 point transfer. The song spent its first 13 weeks on the chart in the top ten (same as on the Hot 100), 11 of them being in the top five, and 16 weeks total in the top ten. It lingered around long enough to make it this high on my year-end list! Due to lack of competition, this song topped Rap/Hip-Hop Songs for a record 20 weeks (including 6 in 2013) (passing the 19-week threshold of the massive "Thrift Shop" which had competition from the likes of "Can't Hold Us", otherwise it would've had many more weeks at #1) and lands at #2 on my year-end Rap/Hip-Hop Songs Chart.

10.A song by Taylor Swift which was really medium...but did well just because the name of the Taylor Swift...It is really awful for the first single of a Taylor's album! I like it normally not much :/ and I think if it was sung by an artist like Kelly Clarkson it wouldn't even reach top20 lol 9.A very classic song of John Legend...I love it but it is a very very love song and I don't like this much love in a song lol.His sound is impressive in the song and It takes me a lot energy when I listen to it each time lol 8.I heard that it is a song for girls!!! But I love it I dance with it many times lol and many people says she is brought by mafia and she is not huge and she doesn't deserve such fame and more shiit like these and I don't agree with any of them She is cool and I know how you adore her Mark 7.Rude is nice! I love the music video of it and it's genre was new to at least me! 6.I never thought that Eminem will have another monster smash after LTWYL...But I surprised by TM!!!It is really nice and I think the main part of the song is related to Rihanna's voice...It was not as catchy as the HUGE LTWYL but it was OK for me listening it for 2 months :) Can't wait for your top 5

I want to add something to this thread to enhance it a bit and add to my appreciation of the songs. I want to list my favorite lyrics/parts from each song in the year-end top ten.

It looks like surfy still has not looked at/commented on 10-6, despite his claims that he couldn't wait to see the top ten anyway before I proceed to reveal my 2014 year-end top 5, I am going to post my list of top 25 artists of the year. This list is based on the performance of the artists'/groups' songs (i.e. points for each song) of an artist and are accounted (with minor adjustments) as follows: full points for a lead role and half points for a featured role (with some exceptions such as "Latch" where Sam contributes all the vocals hence will get a bit more than half, but certainly not full credit). Also, just like with my year-end songs chart, Eminem and Rihanna get 2014 year-end points for the 2013 points of "The Monster". Here is the list: 25. Sam Smith24. Katy Perry23. Nicki Minaj22. Jessie J21. Lil Jon20. DJ Snake19. Tove Lo18. Justin Timberlake17. Clean Bandit16. Charli XCX15. Calvin Harris14. John Legend13. Meghan Trainor12. MAGIC!11. Jason Derulo10. Nico & Vinz9. Imagine Dragons8. Eminem7. Ed Sheeran6. Taylor Swift ( Mr. Thonk Eyes's girl lol) 5. Maroon 54. OneRepublic3. Pharrell Williams2. Iggy Azalea1. Ariana Grande
Rihanna juuuust missed the list :(

5. "Problem" - Ariana Grande ft. Iggy Azalea Peak: #1 (2 weeks) Weeks On Chart: 27 Q1: - Q2: 4 Q3: 8 Q4: 21
This was Ariana's comeback single (and a helpful booster for Iggy Azalea, who was just starting out in the mainstream and got lots of exposure with this one) and let me tell you I was NOT unimpressed! It is easily my favorite song from her to date and a few weeks into listening to it, I knew it would make the year-end top five (and what do you know? I wasn't wrong ). I love Ariana's and Iggy's delivery in the song and I really enjoy the instrumentals (particularly the "Thrift Shop"-sounding sax part) and of course the ending 30 seconds are epic. I instantly became obsessed with this song and it was stuck in my head constantly! And to show this, the song debuted at #5 on my chart the week of May 8th and jumped to #1 the next week with an impressive point sum of 250k points (the second-largest of any song in 2014!). The song fell to #2 the following week for two weeks but returned to the top spot again the week of June 5th. The song spent its first 15 weeks in the top ten (the record for this is first 26 weeks, held by Maroon 5's "One More Night") and then tallied four more later; 9 of those weeks were in the top five. The song topped R&B Songs for 14 weeks and lands at #2 on my year-end R&B Songs chart. surfy I know you don't like #6 or #7 but hopefully this one makes up for it Mr. Thonk Eyes @smirjal @jakelmmrs44

4. "Fancy" - Iggy Azalea ft. Charli XCX Peak: #1 (5 weeks) Weeks On Chart: 25 Q1: - Q2: 2 Q3: 5 Q4: 25
This was Iggy's debut single and the one that made her as huge as she is today...well maybe not today but last year definitely! I will never be able to explain why it is that I liked this song so much but I did (not that I owe anyone any explanations lol). This was certainly my top guilty pleasure song of the year! I loved quoting the lyrics and the beat was very plain yet catchy! I liked Iggy's flow and Charli's delivery a lot! Many people criticized this song but, hey, you know what they say: with great things comes great criticism, right? The song debuted on my chart at #6 in late April with a few days of points and shot up to #1 the next week. If not for Problem, it would've stayed there for 7 consecutive weeks just like on the Hot 100. The song spent its first 17 weeks in the top 10 and then two more later (including 13 consecutive weeks in the top 5!). The song would've been higher on the list if it had stayed on the chart longer (25 weeks is a short chart run for a song that big). The song topped Rap/Hip-Hop Songs for 18 weeks (mostly due to lack of competition) and tops the year-end Hip-Hop/Rap Songs chart.

First of all I should say something about the top 25 artists: Happy for my love Ariana And great for Iggy,Pharrel and ONEREPUBLIC Also I think Ed deserves much :) Your top 5 in 2013: I have said my idea about radioactive before CHU is a nice song that proved Macklemore is not a one hit wonder! BL is such a cool and sexy song that was catchy and stayed in my memory for a long time! GL is my ringtone for 18 months!! This could be flawless if Pharrell says "we're up all night to get lucky" less!!! TS is a FANTASTIC song with that FUNNY lyrics! Love it and respect him and the song forever! Now my comments on 2014's #4 and #5: 5-First I saw the cover of problem as the profile picture of one of the pulse users!! And it was a sexy profile picture...I was eager to know who is she! When I noticed that Ariana released a single(It was unexpected for me and I guessed she would release her new album in late 2014 ) and I saw the cover,I understood that the girl in the profile picture is Ariana! Also the song problem was really nice and catchy for me and it caused me to love Ariana not because her face only but also for her nice songs! Ariana was perfect in 2014 with very nice 4 singles! 4-Fancy! The song that was famous only in US! In other part of the world it was not successful...It is normal for me...Not too catchy and not a song that make me listen to it 10 times in a row...But I like Iggy and also have a great love for CHARLI XCX Can't wait for your top 3 ;)

3. "Am I Wrong" - Nico & Vinz Peak: #1 (4 weeks) Weeks On Chart (2014): 29 Q1: - Q2: 19 Q3: 1 Q4: 14
One of the best songs this year. It took me a little bit of time for me to get used to this song but after listening to it in full, it grew on me really quickly and zoomed up my chart, jumping 15-3 in its second week, and soon afterwards reaching #1. The lyrics of the song are amazing and I love the message - that people will always try to bring you down no matter what and you just gotta keep doing you and not let the critics get to you. The instrumentals and tune were really heart-warming as well IMO. This song was my #1 song of the summer (Q3) and it was certainly well deserved. This song had a very similar fate as Wake Me Up both on my chart and the Hot 100. On my chart, it was robbed of a few weeks at #1 because of competition from the likes of Fancy, Maps, Latch and Rude (the other four of my top five songs of the summer!!!); otherwise it could've gotten about 8-10 weeks at #1 :( it also stalled at #2 for 3 consecutive weeks behind Fancy and then Maps before finally reaching #1. On the Hot 100 it spent 6 weeks at #4 without ever making the top three, just like Wake Me Up, due to lack of streaming :( The song spent 18 total weeks in the top ten in 2014 (including 12 consecutive weeks in the top three!!!) and has peaked at #6 in 2015, spending 8 additional weeks on the chart in 2015; it may or may not make this year's year-end list. I don't know if these two will ever come back with another big single, but this one was definitely one to remember them by!

2. "Counting Stars" - OneRepublic Peak (2014): #2 (3 weeks) (#1 for 1 week in 2013) Weeks On Chart (2014): 40 (+18 in 2013) Q1: 2 Q2: 6 Q3: 18 Q4: -
2013 Rank: #21 This is easily one of the best songs of this entire decade! It is absolutely flawless in terms of lyrics, tune, instrumentals, etc. and I am absolutely amazed at the final product that is this song. I remember seeing it shoot up to #1 on iTunes in June 2013 (after If I Lose Myself, which was a meh song to me, had died out quickly) and I gave it a listen and instantly thought it was fire. It debuted at #16 on my chart in late-June/early-July and made it to #12 a few weeks later. Unfortunately, this song had no airplay and overall recognition so it quickly fell off after just 6 weeks on my chart, despite the fact that I still thought it was fire. However, once this song started gaining some traction on all the charts and eventually airplay, it began to grow on my again and re-entered my chart in late-September/early October. It jumped 11-4 the week of October 31st, 2013, becoming the band's second top ten and tied for the highest-peaking song from them. The next week, the song climbed 4-2 and stayed there for two consecutive weeks behind Rap God and The Monster, respectively. It then fell back to #4 but got back up and claimed its one week at #1 the week of December 12th, 2013, becoming the band's first and so far only #1 to date. The song spent a total of 5 weeks in the runner-up spot behind three different songs. The song had absolutely incredible longevity for me, spending 30 consecutive weeks in my top ten - the second-most consecutive weeks in the top ten of any song in the history of my chart (Thrift Shop spent 34 consecutive weeks in the top ten). It spent a total of 31 weeks in my top ten, making it the fourth-longest run in the region of any song in the history of my chart. It also spent 15 consecutive weeks and 19 total in my top 5. Above all, the song spent 40/52 weeks on my chart in 2014 - the longest run of any song during the year (even though it was really 38 and it then came back as a recurrent because I needed a placeholder). And finally, the song was only the second to spend over a year on the chart; it spent a total of 58 weeks on the chart - the second-longest run of any song in the history of my chart. The song has also been a very strong recurrent and I have still been listening to it a lot even after it dropped out of my chart. It is also just the third song this decade to be in the top 25 of two year-end charts. The power of this song is just amazing. It is a true masterpiece and, again, one of my favorite songs of the whole decade. Overall, this song definitely tops my 2014 year-end #1 but due to the fact that a portion of its chart run (not to mention the #1 peak) was in 2013, #2 was the best it could do for this year's year-end chart. This is still a phenomenal chart performance in any case. Thank you, OneRepublic! You have truly amazed and inspired me! I don't know if we will hear anything like this again, but this one was totally worth it! This song will always live on in my memory...

1. "Happy" - Pharrell Williams Peak: #1 (12 weeks) Weeks On Chart (2014): 35 Q1: 1 Q2: 1 Q3: 17 Q4: 14
Incoming hate! Well that's ok, I strategically chose not to tag certain people because of that. Anyway, I need not be ashamed of how much I enjoyed this song. This song was definitely the highlight of my year (hence why it tops 2014's year-end chart) and I can't even begin to describe how much I loved this song. The lyrics always brought up my spirits and made me feel exactly the song title and the beat was irresistibly catchy to me as well; I just couldn't get enough of this song! From the moment I first heard it, I knew it was going to be huge both for me and on the worldwide charts. It debuted on my chart at #11 the week of January 16th, fell to #14 the next week then jumped to #1, tying the biggest ever jump to #1 on my chart (later that year surpassed by Maps and then by Uptown Funk!). The song went on to spend 10 consecutive weeks at #1, a record most consecutive weeks at #1, blocking Team, Talk Dirty, and All of Me from the top spot in the process. It fell to #3 afterwards, but then rose back to #2 and then returned to #1 for 2 more weeks afterwards (and this time blocking Sing in the process). As of the end of 2014, this song has the second-longest reign on the chart after Thrift Shop. It also granted Pharrell the status of having the most weeks at #1 (24) among all artists (Get Lucky and Blurred Lines had spent 4 and 8 weeks at #1, respectively, in 2013). This song was also the first song ever to top TWO quarterly charts as it was #1 of Q1 AND of Q2 (though it had tough competition in Q1 from longevity master Counting Stars). The song spent an impressive 17 consecutive weeks in the top three (it was never #4 or #5 in its entire chart run), 22 consecutive weeks in the top ten, and 24 total weeks in the top ten. The song topped R&B Songs for a record (I think) 17 total weeks and tops my year-end R&B Songs list. And that concludes 2014 for us (I apologize for delaying this chart for so long) and I am pleased that 2014 wraps up on a "Happy" note for me. Here's to hoping for an even better 2015!

I never thought a 42 year old man without being too much popular will create this MONSTER HIT! I admire Pharrell forever :) After all...I think it doesn't deserve that much sales...and being all time #4...It is nice...but not that MONSTER with full of records... Very very nice chart! But I didn't think AIW is your #3 lol Waiting for hearing more about your chart in the future :) ;)
