Warner Music Nashville made it clear in Country Aircheck this evening that "Nothin' Like You" will have its final push week this week and since they currently own the #2 and #3 singles, we'll likely see Dan + Shay grab the MB #1 next Sunday and become their first #1 single (first top 5 and top 10, too).

I wonder if this has enough gas to grab the BB #1. I know Warner Bros. has the #2 and #3 songs (which is basically now the Top 2) but Blake Shelton has to have a large gap on these guys so I'm not sure if Dan + Shay can pull it off.

Warner we'll be happy with a split this week if that's what they ultimately decide on. Blake's got a 1.8 million in audience lead on Dan + Shay, so it's not impossible but the easy solution is to split the charts this week. We'll see how they play it though. They can do what they wish, unfortunately.

This song just reminds me so much of the Feels Like Today era from Rascal Flatts, bringing back some great memories.
I never thought "Nothin' Like You" would even make the top 10, so I'm thrilled for a #1/#2 peak.
Really hope they release "Stop Drop + Roll" or "What You Do To Me" next.

I Love that These guys have big hearts, and used their music videos to support dogs. I'm also really, well just in love with this song. After continuously missing the top 10 I'm really pumped to see them hopefully make it to number one, which they should. Warner made a Great Call by releasing this. If they stop this Era now they may have the right momentum with the perfect lead single. Even though there are still some awesome tracks that could do well off their first Album, Regardless I'm just happy for them.

What is so unrealistic about this girl? Cause let me tell ya, we exist Maybe it's just the way he sings the lines and/or phrases them. But this song has always had a contrived fakeness to me that I can't quite pinpoint. Again, it feels a lot like a bad rom-com to me somehow. Like, it's beating me over the head with "Oh, isn't it so CUTE and WACKY that you have PURPLE untied shoestrings?!?" I get what you are saying. It reminds me a bit of Train's song "Meet Virginia", where the singer actually is talking about someone that doesn't exist, or that he hasn't met yet. He's looking for someone who is a bit quirky. This one is a little weirder or more contrived in that it is in the past tense about a real person who is actually that quirky.

"Nothin' Like You" gained 107 spins and 930k in audience today, while "Gonna" broke even in spins and actually lost 220k in audience. Since Monday's update, Dan + Shay have gained 2.1 million in audience while Blake has gained just 600k. "Gonna" had a 1.8 million in total audience lead over "Nothin' Like You" on Billboard, so that means Dan + Shay took a major step in drastically reducing the large Billboard audience gap that Blake had. "Gonna" is still in the lead for Billboard but right now, Warner could easily claim both MB and Billboard for "Nothin' Like You" if they wanted to and force Blake to wait his turn until next week.

I wonder what would've happened if this song was released as their debut. Would "19 You + Me" and "Show You Off" have been bigger hits if they were the follow-ups to this?

Now tracking at #1 for Monday's Billboard, I believe it will now be #1 in 2 days from now.

Really glad this is going to be #1 on BB too. I was going to be bummed that yet another tune I enjoyed got a MB-only #1, especially at the expense of a multi-week #1 for Blake instead. I'm one of the few who loves "Gonna," but it's definitely not deserving of multiple weeks at #1 in the slightest.

Warner has definitely decided to lay off the gas pedal for "Gonna" and have this Sunday/Monday be "Nothin' Like You's" time in the sun. "Gonna" will have to wait until the 13th/14th to hit #1, and then "Gonna Know We Were Here" will be the last #1 song before Christmas.

It looks like this will take both charts (Mediabase is a given). Ridiculous. I wonder how hard this will fall next week. I'd love to see it leave the top 10.

Dan + Shay's lead on Blake is at least 1.0 million in audience on Billboard. They clearly put the breaks on Blake this week. Even if Dan + Shay see a small loss tomorrow, they'll still likely get #1 on Billboard.

If ever there was a candidate to go recurrent from #1, this is it.

Nothin' Like You will the 46th different song to go to #1 on Mediabase this year. So basically Bob's year end top 50 will be a couple songs that peaked at 2 or 3 and then all the #1s

I don't mind this going #1 on both charts, tbh. Granted, me enjoying this song helps but research has been very good for most of its chart run and the sales (while not that good, are much better than Blake's song). There's been some rather questionable Billboard #1's over recent months ("Love You Like That"), so its not as if it never happens, but this song looked to be a #1 single from the time it entered the top 15. Plus it would stop Blake's nothingness single from spending two weeks at #1, which I would personally be in favor of. Has it gotten a big push? Sure it has. But that happens with many #1 singles. This was Dan + Shay's power up for #1 week, and that's just the way it goes for every label. In a perfect world, this and "Gonna" would have peaked below #1 but it's 2015 and it is what it is.
Looking at the sales of the songs currently in the top 7 of the MB rolling chart, I can't remember the last time we saw three of the seven not even in the top 200 of the iTunes all-genre chart.

Wow, this just barely got the #1 tonight. 48.123 vs. Blake's 48.122. Talk about a photo finish!

I can't recall a closer finish than this one, but of course I've only been following the numbers since 2010 (prior to that I paid a lot of attention to the charts and where songs peaked, but I didn't really follow the numbers or understand how the charts worked, lol).

"Settlin'" and "Stand" finished tied in total Billboard audience in the spring of 2007 with both having exactly 35.066 million in audience. Sugarland was increasing while Rascal Flatts was decreasing, so Sugarland was awarded the #1 song that week

Yeah, when the chart was tabulated by spins only, there were some ties every now and then with the song gaining the most coming out on top. You'd think with audience the decimal would extend beyond 3 decimal places, right?

You'd think with audience the decimal would extend beyond 3 decimal places, right? Not necessarily. I don't know how he audience number is calculated, but mathematically speaking, if it is based on multiplication of numbers with fewer significant digits, then it is impossible to state the product with any degree of accuracy greater than the number with fewest significant digits. Example: 22.1 x 3.8 = 84, not 83.98 or 84.00

On a less-off-topic note, this song has managed to grow on me throughout its entire chart run. And I never disliked it to begin with! It has just gotten a little better. I haven't checked out their album yet, but I am really interested to see how they sound on other songs. I know Rascal Flatts can be killer on a good ballad, and I can scarcely imagine Dan + Shay sounding drastically different...

It's just a matter of not having past 3 decimal places for each station when they are being added. It really wouldn't be that tough to round it further on an internal system and just display top three on the chart for us. Also, I haven't dealt with significant digits in at least 20 years. Dumb then, dumb now (and I have an undergrad in mathematics).
