The 2nd singles from the first Greatest Hits compilations of the 2 biggest American Idol alumni of all-time. Both are country radio releases.
Which song is better?

Anyone with a functioning pair of ears will vote for Little Toy Guns. Lol! My vote still goes for "Little Toy Guns", but I absolutely loved "Don't Rush". It was/is extremely enjoyable to me, and adding Vince Gill to basically anything makes it even better. This is a rough comparison since they're about as polar opposite as songs can be, but I obviously get why the poll was made.

Anyone with a functioning pair of ears will vote for Little Toy Guns. Lol! The arrogance lol. Anyways I'm not voting since it's a tie for me. They are two completely different songs. Carrie's has a louder production that really gives the song its edge and Kelly's is more bluesy and laidback and I dig that.

"Don't Rush," although I think "LTG" has strong lyrics. Country Kelly reminds me of Lorrie Morgan or Trisha Yearwood, and I prefer that sound in general.

Kelly's my girl, but "Little Toy Guns" is vastly superior.

This poll isn't even fair. One was a carefully calculated Country track while the other was a fun song with no real push on Country radio.
Anyways, I like "Don't Rush" better because of it's simplicity.

A country singer singing about family issues is "calculated," but Kelly Clarkson jumping from Pop to Country & singing with Vince Gill to add "Country" credibility isn't? lol, okay.

I like the cool, laidback, bluesy vibe and vocals of 'Rush', but that's about it. The lyrics and melody are barely average at best, IMO.
Winner: 'Guns' by a moderate margin

This poll isn't even fair. One was a carefully calculated Country track while the other was a fun song with no real push on Country radio. "Don't Rush" got a push to country radio though. A song, particularly one by a female artist, does not go Top 30 on the country charts because someone just throws a song out there for "fun."

I voted for "Little Toy Guns" because it's better written, interpreted and it's just all-around more intriguing. This poll isn't even fair. Why not? Your vote is based on your preference, chart performance is irrelevant. One was a carefully calculated Country track How so? I realize that plenty of country songs center around issues in the family, but I think "Little Toy Guns" sets itself apart because of its unusual central metaphor, tempo and dramatic production. Plus, it's not like there's a deluge of story songs currently in rotation at country radio. Doesn't really strike me as a calculated song! a fun song with no real push on Country radio. "Don't Rush" was performed at both major country music award shows (CMAs & ACMs). At the 2013 Country Radio Seminar, Kelly performed "Don't Rush" on two separate occasions for country radio DJs and programmers. And, I'm pretty sure a number of radio interviews were conducted, as well. There was most definitely a push.

"Little Toy Guns". Never was that into "Don't Rush" like most were. I wasn't either, unfortunaetly for some odd reason, WYRK likes to play it every once in a while, instant station changee at this point, I mean seriously it went to #27 for crying out loud!

That's because WYRK's program and manager director Wendy Lynn loves Kelly Clarkson. You might have also noticed they loved playing the country version of "Mr. Know It All" and still play "Because Of You".

"Don't Rush" pretty easily. I like "Little Toy Guns" and I'm sure it'll grow on me even more, but "Don't Rush" was one of my favourite songs of 2013.

I'm Team Kelly but I can't deny that Little Toy Guns is just a better song. Carrie's vocals were just pristine in that song.
Weird song comparison though. I'd understand it more if it was Because of You instead of DR for example.

I'd understand it more if it was Because of You instead of DR for example. The poll was done because both are the 2nd singles from each lady's Greatest Hits album, as I mentioned in my opening post. The same reason why I created the "Something in the Water" vs. "Catch My Breath" poll (the lead singles from each Greatest Hits album).

"Don't Rush" is better, more original, more refreshing, more risky, more key change, better vocals, etc.

Prefer "Don't Rush", I enjoy the easy on the ear sound to it. "Little Toy Guns" is good too though.

"Little Toy Guns" quite easily. Kelly sounds beautiful on "Don't Rush" but my compliments for the song end there.

You're comparing a well-established Country artist to someone dropping their first Country music single who isn't seriously making Country music for her career. I'm just saying, that would be like comparing a Pop song Carrie recorded to one of Kelly's Pop hits. Obviously LTG was bound for more success than DR. Plus, DR really isn't even a Country song...it's more "soul". I understand it's based more on "like" but it's obvious more effort was put into making LTG sonically, lyrically, etc...

ILLUSION, how is this poll "not fair" ? I agree with Typo, since the outcome of the poll is based on personal preference. If this poll were comparing chart performance, then certainly it would be an unfair comparison for the reasons you cited.
