Three stinkers in a row. Tough to believe this is the same guy who gave us songs like Amarillo Sky, Flyover States, The Truth, and Tattoos on This Town.

Seriously? Ughh. This song is pretty lame tbh. Not horrible, just not memorable either.

I'll probably be in the minority again in regards to Jason, but I really love this song and think it's a good choice for radio. The lyrics are typical, but for me the melody definitely makes up for.

Really. My favorite songs "If My Truck Could Talk", "Sweet Little Somethin" and "Two Night Town" would've been better options.

The fact that he's a format superstar essentially summarizes the dismal state of country radio these days.
Lee Ann Womack, Alan Jackson and George Strait have been banished from the format for his level of country music?
What an indictment of the format this is.

I guess this makes sense for an uptempo heading into the spring/summer months, but I would've preferred "Gonna Know We Were Here". I hope the fourth single is one of the ballads (I'm pulling for "Too Fast") and then he closes out this era with GKWWH.

Good choice for a single in my opinion & one of my favorites on the album. I love the arrangement and the guitar riffs in this one, and the vocals are solid for me.

This is the best single so far from the album, but that's not saying a ton. I expect it will likely be another number one.

Glad he's releasing this one but there are some others on the album that I still hope make it as singles too.

I would rather have "Tryin' to Love Me". That's the best song on the album.

Is it just more or does it feel like this album era is moving a lot quicker than most normally do? Like the past two singles have flown up the charts. Regarding the single, it's nothing ground breaking but it works. I would have preferred this as the second single and "Just Gettin' Started" to remain as an album track. I think JGS will be one of Aldean's most forgettable single releases. Say what you will about "1994", "Dirt Road Anthem" and "Burnin' It Down", but they are going to be remembered (for good or bad reasons) for awhile. I tend to think of mainstream artist's always being in the situation of bad PR is still PR.

I think JGS will be one of Aldean's most forgettable single releases. I agree with this. I think this will be a big single, and I don't have an issue with it being released next, but it just seems like Just Gettin' Started was a waste, especially considering Sweet Little Somethin' was already charting and it seemed like radio was begging to play that one. I think Just Gettin' Started will go down with Crazy Town as his most forgettable singles. But from the day the album was released, all signs pointed towards this being a single at some point, and I distinctly remember Billboard writing an album review saying this was going to be a monster hit. I like this song a lot though, as I think the lyrics in the chorus are quite strong for such a familiar topic, and I think Jason sings it well. Hopefully a ballad or Gonna Know We Were Here is next after this peaks, which I couldn't imagine taking much more than 15 weeks this time around.

I'm still wanting SLS to be a single and truthfully, I didn't know that radio was already starting to play it the way it was. I was gonna say that maybe that will still be the next single but I feel like it would have made more sense to release that song now, then TLGOY. But who knows. Maybe it'll still be released, maybe it won't! It does seem like this era is going quick!

When I first listened to this and Jason jumped into the chorus at about the 50 second mark, I couldn't help but think to myself, "This is beginning to sound like every Jason Aldean single, especially the current charting JGS." I went back and listened and sure enough at the 44 second mark of JGS when he jumps into the chorus it sounds way to identical to this song. Is it just me that is hearing this?
This is just one era of Jason Aldean that I am certainly sitting out on. Next.

"Tonight Looks Good On You" debuts at #44 on MB this week.
BTW: "Just Gettin' Started" will not go recurrent this week as he's still there on the evening update (stupid 9 spins...).

So I just heard this for the first time and Jason is 0/3 with me on singles this era. I haven't liked a debut single of his since "Johnny Cash", but usually I enjoy either singles 2 or 3 or both. But this one isn't good either. I still need to listen to the rest of the album, but after hearing this I don't think I want to.

There are a couple of songs worth checking out ("Two Night Town" is great), but overall this album is a disappointment to me. This song is ok, but nothing special.

IMO, his new album is pretty much the textbook definition of "phoning it in". Of course, radio is too starstruck by his presence to give him the message that he could do better (and he can). There may be some decent songs on Old Boots, New Dirt, but I don't think any of it will be classified as some of his strongest songs to date. I mean, Night Train was somewhat weaker than My Kinda Party success-wise, but he still had a solid handful of songs on both albums. I really can't say the same for this new effort of his. :(

Before it was released, it was talked about being a "game changer", etc etc. We all knew it would sell a zillion copies. But after first few listens, I found almost NOTHING to listen to again. My Kinda Party and Night Train had some really, really good album tracks (Church Pew or Barstool, Country Boy's World, Texas Was You, Just Passing Through, This Nothin Town, Black Tears, Talk, Drink One For Me, Staring At The Sun etc) Now this song does have some imagery, not anything like Night Train, but it does sound intriguing enough. I like it miles better than Just Gettin Started or Burnin It Down, but definately phoned in IMO. You could almost guess the singles by listening to the album, which is sad. "Sweet Little Something" will no doubt get released at some point. But I hope they atleast consider "Too Fast" or "Two Night Town"

Will probably be "Sweet Little Something" as that's the next least country song and will therefore bring in the most money. I think the best songs on the CD are "Gonna Know We Were Here", "Too Fast" and "Two Night Town". The latter two being excellent ballads. I miss the days of Jason releasing meaningful slow or midtempo songs. I guess now all we get are R&B babymaking slowjams "love" ballads.
