Yeah, you people are a mess. It doesn't matter how people feel in 15 years LOL. It was number one for over 2 months straight. That is historic. NEXT

I hate when people say a song is successful because it had no competition. Ridiculous.

I hate when people say a song is successful because it had no competition. Ridiculous. Usually, but not in this instance. Love Yourself is about to get its 11th week at #1 on airplay. Now you explain to me how that happened cuz LY is beyond tired at this point. The answer is that there hasn't been any really big songs. I like "Work". Probably more than I should. But to call it one of the biggest songs of all time is reaching.

I'm doing some work right now and you don't hear me saying this is some of the toughest work of all time.

I think Work will be as remembered as most of Rihanna's other big hits....

I think Work will be as remembered as most of Rihanna's other big hits.... Work is a great song but I don't think it will be remembered in like 10 years. Some of Rihanna's big hits from like 2008-2013 are being played now. So those hits will be remembered for possibly 50 years. I don't see work being played on the radio in 10 years. I could be wrong though. Kiss it Better and Needed Me will not be remembered in 3 years. Kiss it Better should go top 18 in Pop and Needed Me should go top 15 in Urban.

Whether a song will be remember in 10, 20, or 50 years is all a matter of opinion. Like, who are YOU to determine whether a song will be remembered or not by OTHER people?

Work was a hit, there's no denying that but it hasn't made as much impact at pop as some of her other hits. Personally, the song is just alright for me and Kiss It Better isn't really my cup of tea. Her album itself was a surprising success especially considering the messy leadup with the 3 pre-album singles and the tidal release.

slow down hunty Uh, there are only a handful of songs that have ever been #1 on the Hot 100 for 9 or more weeks. By default, it is one of the biggest songs of all-time. That doesn't meant anything except that it had more Hot 100 points than any other song for nine weeks. You have to look at the bigger picture: "Work" had very large amounts of streaming that killed the rest of its pretty small competition. The Hot 100 didn't used to even have streaming. I can imagine plenty more nine+ week #1s had streaming been around. Songs typically spend more time at number one now. Also, I would argue being one of the biggest songs of all time requires a large cultural impact, and it's just simply WAY too early to tell that right now. It'll be a few years or so before we can figure that out.

The song already impacted culture in a big way, even if its negative. The "Work" memes were everywhere and all over popular media. People talking about the nonsense lyrics and then the song slayed for 9 weeks. It doesn't matter if 2000 had streaming compared to 2016 or not. (Random years) It was still a massive #1 hit and it is one of the biggest songs going off the Hot 100 alone. No one is gonna try and convince me otherwise lol

Chart stats are the end all be all to determine a song's overall performance! Comparing it to nothing else ever is the best way!

But back on topic, of course the one Rihanna song I'm 100% on board with is struggling. Have they adjusted their funding towards Needed Me?

No, but we all know how Pop feels about playing music by black women that dare step slightly outside of their box. Pop doesn't like anything outside of the box. Because polarizing songs make people change the stations. That's why songs with negative callout scores tend to fall short. "Kiss It Better" has had a pretty great start for its horrible sales, and don't act like Rihanna has been payed constant dust by radio. When her songs connect with people, radio DOES play them. Too many people hated "Work" for it to go higher than it did.

Got 27 adds on Pop (4th most added), 4 adds on Rhythmic, and 2 adds on Hot AC.
137/188 stations (~73% of the panel) have added the song so far.
