This was released as a single from 2013's The 20/20 Experience. It peaked at #1 at CHR/pop, #1 at rhythmic, #1 at hot AC, #3 at AC, #1 in the UK and #2 on the Hot 100. I was disappointed with it as a single choice, but I grew to like it a lot. They definitely could have pushed a little harder for it to top the Hot 100.

Probably my 3rd favorite JT single after Cry Me a River & Sexyback.
Great melody and his voice is perfect for the song.

I found this super overrated. It's never done anything for me. It sounded so out of place with what else was big then, it sounds straight from 2007.

My least favorite single from The 20/06 Experience. It's not only formulaic but also lyrically vapid. Leave it to Justin Timberlake and his ego to write a love song about how much his love interest reminds him of himself.

I love this and think it's one of his best solo songs, but I still find it very overplayed.

I like it, but it's one of my least favorites on the album. Definitely sounded like it was written for FutureSex/LoveSounds.

Best Justin Timberlake song ever IMO. Best song by any Justin, actually.

I like the radio edit version, the full version on the other hand is atrocious.

Meh, it's never done anything for me. I still hear this on the radio quite a bit and it doesn't feel nostalgic to me.

It took a while to get into this, but I still like this song... If only I could ever understand the words.

It took a while to get into this, but I still like this song... If only I could ever understand the words. Surf, I may be able to help you this. It took me a while to figure it out, but here's what I think this it's about: 2 selfs. Your old self and your new self. If you remember in the 2000's, some of JT's songs had very sexual lyrics, especially Sexyback (2006) and Rock Your Body (2002). However, after that era, Justin Timberlake dated, got engaged to, and then married Jessica Biel. And they also recently had their first child last month. JT's new self is of becoming a good father, aka his new self. Here's the lyrics that may help you understand it a little more: Baby, you're the inspiration of this precious song And I just wanna see your face light up since you put me on So now I say goodbye to the old me, it's already goneAnd I can't wait wait wait wait wait to get you home Just to let you know, you are Does that help you understand it a little more?

One of the best pop songs of the past 15 years. Pure perfection, catchy as hell, better lyrics than the average mainstream songs.

My favorite song by him and my favorite song of 2013. This was one of the moments where the extra long ending worked perfectly.

Absolutely the best song from the first installment. I've always found it to be the brighter sibling to "Cry Me A River" in terms of the lyrics and production. The "Love Of My Life" interlude is one of the few interludes I enjoy off the album.

Really loved it at the time. Definitely should have been edited down to under 5 minutes though. I can't listen to the whole thing anymore.

...Why am I the first poster in this thread, yet I wasn't the originator of it? Maybe I should edit it to include the video, lol.

One of my favorite songs of all time, but when I listen to it too much, it burns on me for a while. I just love the production so much.

One of my favorite songs of all time, but when I listen to it too much, it burns on me for a while. I just love the production so much. Except for the first part about "Mirrors" being one of your favorite songs of all time (it is one of my favorite songs from 2013 though), I wholeheartedly agree with you. I love the production as well!

Sometimes it's catchy and sometimes it's boring for me.

It's not one of my favs on the album, but I like it and it was clearly a strong single choice. And it's very well written for him, why can't he bring this level of songwriting most of the time?
My only problem is the production is too big for him. He always sounds like he's struggling on the chorus to outdo the instrumental to me.
