From now on, I'll update this thread every week on Thursday. Each week I'll change the subject line to reflect which artist is "current" that week.
This week, I'm going with T-Byrd.
TOP 1. Walking to Jerusalem/Revenge of a Middle-Aged Woman (tie) 3. Put Your Hand in Mine 4. 4 to 1 in Atlanta 5. Cheapest Motel 6. Just Let Me Be in Love (this one would be even better en español) 7. Heaven in My Woman's Eyes (ditto) 8. Holdin' Heaven 9. A Good Way to Get on My Bad Side 10. I Wanna Feel That Way Again (the station in my area totally snubbed this one...) 11. When Mama Ain't Happy (...and yet they gave this one about a million spins)
I could have listed just about anything else at #11 there.
BOTTOM 1. Watermelon Crawl (quite possibly the only mid-90s novelty hat act tune that I truly can't stand) 2. Love Lessons 3. Keeper of the Stars (not that bad really, just over-rated)

6. Just Let Me Be in Love (this one would be even better en español)
There is a version of the song where he sings the chorus in spanish. It is much better than the regular version.
Tracy is my favorite singer, I pretty much like everything he records, I'll do top 5 radio singles and top 5 album cuts.
My Top 5 Radio singles
1. Walkin' to Jerusalem 2. Better Places Than This 3. Drinkin' Bone 4. Take Me With You When You Go 5. Heaven In My Woman's Eyes
My top 5 album cuts
1. When You Go (from the Truth About Men) 2. Back to Texas (From I'm From the Country) 3. Old One Better (From I'm From the Country) 4. Every Time I Do (From It's About Time) 5. Pink Flamingos (From No Ordinary Man)

By the way, could one of the mods kindly make this thread always appear at the top (like the Upcoming Singles thread) so I don't have to keep hunting for it?
Edit: Thanks.

Just thinking out loud, but maybe this could run over until Sunday? Just an easier day to remember than Thursday...
Anyways, I don't know many Tracy songs, so I don't have any bottom (singles). Guess that's good in a way...
Top 1. Drinkin' Bone 2. Cheapest Motel 3. Lifestyles of The Not So Rich And Famous 4. (Don't Take Her) She's All I Got 5. Ten Rounds With Jose Cuervo 6. I'm From The Country 7. Watermelon Crawl 8. The Truth About Men 9. Revenge of A Middle Aged Woman 10. Keeper of The Stars
I do own his No Ordinary Man CD, but I left non-singles off...

1. Put your Hand In Mine (this SHOULD have been huge) 2. Someone To Give My Love To (cant go wrong with a Johnny Paycheck song) 3. Don't Take Her She's All I Got (see#2) 4. Don't Love Make A Diamond Shine 5. Old One Better 6. Take Me With You When You Go ( again ,I thought this was going to be a huge record, but radio simply wont let him out of that novelty tune box) 7. Bottom
1. Keeper of the Stars (thought it was drivel when it came out, and still feel the same today) 2. Holdin' Heaven (this wasnt bad particularly, but radio burned me out on it) 3. I'm From The Country 4. Watermelon Crawl ( same as Holding Heaven, radio killed any of my intrest in this tune) 5. Big Love ( worse tag Ive ever heard in my life)

Changing the artist this week. It's Vince Gill until next week.
TOP 1. Liza Jane (so sue me)/The Heart Won't Lie (tie) 3. If It Weren't For Him 4. Pretty Little Adrianna 5. Pocket Full of Gold 6. Cinderella 7. Feels Like Love 8. Take Your Memory With You 9. One More Last Chance 10. Worlds Apart 11. Next Big Thing 12. Look At Us 13. You Better Think Twice 14. Whenever You Come Around 15. Go Rest High on That Mountain (honestly I think this song's kinda over-rated)
BOTTOM 1. High Lonesome Sound (decent sound, but it's one big lyrical cliché) 2. The Reason Why (rather blasé) 3. Which Bridge to Cross (Which Bridge to Burn) (ditto) 4. No Future in the Past (ditto) 5. I Will Always Love You (just think this didn't need its 800th re-hash) 6. What the Cowgirls Do

One of the best country singers ever -- I'll restrict myself to a list of 10 I like. But I could find 30.
1. Young Man's Town 2. One More Last Chance 3. If You Ever Have Forever In Mind 4. Worlds Apart 5. You and You Alone 6. Go Rest High... 7. When I Call Your Name 8. Whenever You Come Around 9. You Better Think Twice 10. High Lonesome Sound
Negatives:
1. Feels Like Love 2. I Will Always Love You

TOP 1. Tryin' To Get Over You 2. I Still Believe In You 3. When I Call Your Name 4. Whenever You Come Around 5. Feels Like Love 6. Pretty Little Adrianna 7. Don't Let Our Love Start Slipping Away 8. The Heart Won't Lie 9. Pocket Full Of Gold 10. Look At Us
BOTTOM 1. Kindly Keep It Country 2. If You Ever Have Forever In Mind 3. Someday 4. When Love Finds You 5. The Reason Why
His "BOTTOM" songs aren't so much bad as they are just dull and boring. He has a tendency to lean towards that recently.

I'd have to refresh my memory on most of his songs, so I'mprobably going to list his over-played hits...
Top: 1. One More Last Chance 2. Don't Let Our Love Start Slippin' Away 3. The Reason Why 4. What You Give Away 5. Go Rest High On That Mountain 6. Whenever You Come Around 7. I Still Believe In You
I guess once again my complete ignorance to a legend has turned into not being able to name a bad song...

My favorite. Only one song that I really don't like.
1. What's It To You 2. I Can't Sleep 3. Only On Days That End In 'Y' 4. The Chain Of Love (all 4 are almost tied) 5. Fall (really close too) 6. Who Needs You Baby 7. Then What 8. This Woman And This Man 9. Where Do I Fit In The Picture 10. Dreamin' With My Eyes Wide Open 11. A Few Questions 12. Live Until I Die 13. Watch This 14. Rumor Has It 15. I could've kept going on the favorites lists. And I'm sure I could've thought of another or 2 of his that I didn't like a lot, but #1 is the only one I didn't like at all.

Well damn, I missed Vince.
Anywho I like Clay. And believe he COULD have been the second coming of George Strait ,only with a better voice (yea I said it), instead of a second or third tier star. If he could have been a little more consistant with his song selection and actually released some of his more traditional stuff and not so much fluff.
1. The Chain Of Love 2. How To Make A Man Lonesome 3. Only On Days That End In 'Y' 4. I Don't Know How Love Starts 5. If A Man Ain't Thinking ('Bout His Woman) 6. Live Until I Die 7. Let Me Take That Heartache (Off Your Hands) 8. Hand Me Down Heart 9. Heart Over Head Over Heels 10. Fore She Was Mama 11. A Few Questions 12. If I Could MAke A Living
Bottom
1. Then What ( of all of his good to decent songs why in the hell does radio still play this pseudo reggae song?) 2. One, Two, I Love You ( you would think somewhere in his entire record label at the time someone would have tapped Clay on the shoulder and told him just how bad this song sucks) 3. Live, Laugh, Love 4. This Woman And This Man 5.Rumor Has It( Not bad really, just boring)

I'm a day late this time, but oh well. Here're my picks for Steve Wariner.
TOP 1. What If I Said (w/ Anita Cochran) (wow, where'd this song disappear to?) 2. Katie Wants a Fast One (w/ Garth Brooks) (questionable choice for a duet, but still a great song) 3. Two Teardrops 4. Been There (w/ Clint Black) 5. The Domino Theory (first Steve song I ever heard) 6. Some Fools Never Learn (...and I'm living proof) 7. The Weekend 8. Kansas City Lights 9. I Got Dreams BOTTOM 1. I'm Already Taken ("Mommy, will you marry me?" -- ugh... shudder shudder) 2. Holes in the Floor of Heaven (mostly good except for the hook)

Glad you picked Steve. Great guitarist, good writer, underrated singer -- in the top 50 all-time on Whitburn's country radio list.
1. What If I Said -- not my style of song, but I was living this one out while it climbed the chart, so I have a soft spot for it 2. Some Fools Never Learn 3. The Weekend 4. You Can Dream Of Me 5. Been There 6. Small Town Girl 7. Leave Him Out of This 8. Crash Course in the Blues 9. What I Didn't Do 10. Every Little Whisper
special mentions -- he teamed up with Ricky Skaggs, Vince Gill, and the fiddler Mark O'Connor on a song called Restless that did chart back in 1991 -- one of the best musical arrangements I have ever heard in country music
Also he joined Lee Roy Parnell and Diamond Rio (they called themselves Jed Zeppelin) for a great version of Merle's Working Man Blues on a tribute album
And he did a terrific job on Bill Monroe's Heavy Traffic Ahead, also on a tribute album
Great musician!
dislikes --
1. I'm Already Taken -- hard to get worse than this one 2. Holes in the Floor... -- I realize a lot of people find this moving

Zazie,
What do you think of the other song on the Nashville Cats cd that Steve sang? Steve sings well, but it's Mark O'Connor who really shines.
