10. Red, Red Wine and Cheatin' Songs (Ive never tried to play along but , assumed it was just a fast waltz, Ten Pound) It's kind of weird -- some parts sound like waltz time, and others sound like 4/4.

I don't know the song, but Clint Black just had a song that was part-waltz, part-4/4 time. So why not another one?
1. The Whiskey Ain't Workin' 2. Hillbilly Rock 3. Kiss Me, I'm Gone 4. Burn Me Down 5. This One's Gonna Hurt You 6. Tempted 7. Little Things 8. If It Ain't... 9. Too Much Month 10. Cry Cry Cry
Farmer's Blues is a great album track and, had it been released, would have headed my list.
Nothing I don't like, but I haven't heard a bunch of Marty's charty songs.
Have you picked Travis Tritt for top/bottom songs?

I like Restless Heart, and Fast Movin' Train would be in my all-time top 20. Their songs are sounding a bit dated now, though.
Top:
1. Fast Movin' Train 2. A Tender Lie 3. That Rock Won't Roll 4. Dancy's Dream 5. Bluest Eyes in Texas 6. When She Cries 7. I'll Still Be Loving You 8. Big Dreams in a Small Town 9. Feel My Way To You 10. Wheels
I can't remember all of their songs, but nothing strikes me as something I disliked. Baby Needs New Shoes, what was that? I have a feeling that one was bad, but I doubt I ever heard it.

Still haven't finished that covers list.
KENNY ROGERS TOP 1. Buy Me a Rose 2. Tomb of the Unknown Love (sorry, Zazie) 3. Lucille 4. The Gambler 5. Mary, Did You Know? 6. Reuben James 7. The Last Ten Years (Superman) 8. The Greatest 9. Just Dropped In (To See What Condition My Condition Was In) 10. Harder Cards 11. Twenty Years Ago 12. I Can't Unlove You 13. All I Ever Need Is You (forgot about this) 14. Ruby, Don't Take Your Love to Town
BOTTOM 1. Islands in the Stream (possibly the most overrated duet ever) 2. Lady (what was the name of the dipwad that covered this recently? I forget) 3. Through the Years (typical countrypolitan slush) 4. We've Got Tonight (only because of Screecha -- I mean, Sheena's vocals. Seger version is much better)

Did Kenny ever do a country version of I Just Dropped In? Or are you listing the rock version? Willie Nelson did a great version of this song on his Great Divide CD.
Top:
1. Buy Me a Rose 2. Ruben James 3. Lucille 4. I Can't Unlove You 5. The Last Ten Years 6. Ruby, Don't Take Your Love to Town 7. Love Or Something Like It 8. My World Is Over (love those #60, 1-week songs) 9. Every Time Two Fools Collide 10. All I Ever Need Is You
Bottom:
1. Coward of the County (if you need a gang rape to make your story song work, start over and tell a different story) 2. Tomb of the Unknown Love 3. Daytime Friends 4. Islands in the Stream 5. Morning Desire 6. She Believes In Me
Oh, I'll stop picking on the bad stuff. For a good singer, he sure recorded some horrible music.

Zazie, thanks for reminding me about "All I Ever Need Is You" and "Ruby, Don't Take Your Love to Town". And for giving me pause on "Coward".
And by the way, I don't know which version of "Just Dropped In..." I heard. Pretty sure it was the rock one. (I've also heard Willie Nelson's version; there used to be a DJ at my local station who played off-the-beaten-path stuff like that.)

Top: 1. But You Know I Love You ... great song and love the lyrics 2. Buy Me a Rose 3. Love Will Turn You Around 4. Eyes That See in the Dark 5. Just Dropped In (To See What Condition My Condition Was In) 6. Islands in the Stream 7. Tell It All Brother 8. Ruby, Don't Take Your Love to Town 9. Crazy (I know, sappy as all get out, but I can't help it ... unlike many of his drippy songs, I actually believe it) 10. Through the Years (see above)
Bottom: 1. Lady 2. Coward of the County 3. Make No Mistake, She's Mine (I forgot this one when I first posted, and I actually like the Streisand/Carnes version, but this remake just never should have happened) 4. Daytime Friends 5. Lucille

Bottom: 1. Coward of the County (if you need a gang rape to make your story song work, start over and tell a different story) I had never heard of this song so I just went to look up the lyrics. Awfully written and uncomfortable to read. Since you typically only include songs that were released on your lists, I assume this was, indeed, released? How did it perform on the charts?

I think it was a chart topper, but I could be wrong. I do know it was a pretty big hit. This & Six Days On The Road were my favorite songs as a little kid. No wonder I wound up so screwed up... mom & pops let me listen to Kenny Rogers & Dave Dudley...

Coward was indeed a #1 in the U.S. and the UK. Not only that, it was one of only 4 3-week #1 songs in the 1980's, as well as an 8-week top 10 (which I believe tied for the longest run in the decade). A complete mystery to me, but I suppose if it contributed to lumpster's character development, there is something to be said for it.

It also peaked at #3 on the pop charts as well and a TV movie was made based on the song in 1981 starring Kenny Rogers.

RICKY VAN SHELTON TOP 1. Crime of Passion 2. Rockin' Years 3. Statue of a Fool 4. I Am a Simple Man (had to get both Mac McAnally songs on here) 5. Backroads 6. Don't We All Have the Right 7. Life's Little Ups and Downs 8. From a Jack to a King 9. I'll Leave This World Loving You 10. Keep It Between the Lines (a bit contrived but I like it just because it's from one of the most forgotten eras in country music history) 11. I Meant Every Word He Said
BOTTOM 1. Wild Man (not bad lyrically, but the super-sterile production and moderate tempo just totally contradict the title)

One of my most anemic lists...
TOP 1. Standing Knee Deep in a River (Dying of Thirst) 2. Nobody's Gonna Rain on Our Parade (very close second) 3. 455 Rocket 4. Eighteen Wheels and a Dozen Roses 5. Lonesome Standard Time 6. Walking Away a Winner 7. Love at the Five and Dime 8. Come from the Heart 9. Live It 10. Love Travels
Those are the only ten Kathy Mattea songs I know. I swear.

I have a different point of view. Kathy's one of my all-time favorites. The top 4 here are just so good....
1. Come From the Heart 2. Asking Us to Dance 3. Standing Knee Deep in a River 4. Love at the Five and Dime (I'd take Nanci Griffith's version, but this one's very good) 5. Eighteen Wheels and a Dozen Roses 6. Lonesome Standard Time 7. 455 Rocket 8. Walking Away a Winner 9. Goin' Gone 10. Burnin' Old Memories 11. Nobody's Gonna Rain on Our Parade 12. Life As We Knew It
I don't really like:
1. Where've You Been
