wow, out of the itunes top ten to #13 now that initial hype has worn off. doesn't seem like a lot of people like this. You sound very excited. Don't celebrate just yet though! The song spent the better part of a week at #1 with a massive lead so that would indicate that- wait for it- people do like the song. It'll rise right back up as airplay fills in and the video released. All it needs is exposure. Oh look! It's already #12 on iTunes, headed back up so soon <3 lmao u sound REAL MAD! my post was more out of surprise that a proper lead single by Rihanna is being received poorly, i could care less if it does well or not. oh and by the way, it's down to #15 on Itunes ;)

I just called out the fact that you looked silly coming in here specifically to gloat that an urban-only single isn't lighting up the pop chart. And #15 on iTunes *insert winky emoticon* two weeks after release? A few big names can only wish for that stability.

I was just one of MANY posters in this thread who pointed out it wasn't performing like a lead Rihanna single typically does so the fact that you are singling me out is apparently your own personal issues with me for whatever internet troll reason you may have. Grow up. And by the way ten years into her career (where Rihanna is now) Gwen was #1 on iTunes for WEEKS with "Hollaback Girl" :) Let's see where Rihanna ends up 20 years into her career.

Grow up. First of all it's not her lead single. Her lead single is still in the top 10 of the Hot 100 two months in. No, you were singled out because you used bulls**t criteria to attempt discrediting a song for personal entertainment when it's doing just fine. That's what trolling is. I notice your reply ignores any of the facts or stats regarding the song which makes your cute little "grow up" all the more endearing. That's cool and all except that was Gwen's debut era (within months of Rihanna's actually) so if I were you I'd quit for now because you really don't want to encourage anyone to do the math. But I digress here because I'm a Gwen fan. I'm sad that her album is shelved myself. She was brought up simply because you've been spinning how a song like "Baby Don't Lie" is a success all while going out of your way to claim an Urban-only #1 iTunes hit is a failure. LOL!

You are delirious. Not once did I even mention "Baby Don't Lie" and since you were apparently stalking me in the Gwen threads last fall you'd notice I've been critical of her this time around. Regardless, 2005 was not Gwen's debut (lol!) just because she was in a (very successful) band 10 years prior doesn't subtract from the longevity of her career that few have been able to match in this business. Is that 4-5 seconds song really Rihanna's lead single? Her era's are always ambiguous and tend to blend into one plus I honestly just thought it was a one off bc it had Kanye and Paul on it but I don't follow her that closely to care. Either way you are the one who started attacking me and acting like a little boy hiding behind the internet hence the grow up.

Why are we discussing Gwen here anyway? Obviously LAMB was not her debut era, you cant ignore 10 years of doing music prior to that with No Doubt, not to mention a few hits she had in that era by featuring on tracks such as Let Me Blow Your Mind and Southside.
Obviously Rihanna isnt catering to pop radio by delivering pop smashes we all know she can achieve. I'm bummed because I think the music this era is subpar, but that's besides the point. We all know eventually her crown will start to fall like all aging pop stars, but that day hasnt arrived yet. Everyone has their "iffy" eras.

"FourFiveSeconds" was the lead single from Rihanna's upcoming album. "Bitch Better Have My Money" is the second single.

Lol to anyone who refers to allow that as a troll! This single isn't aimed for Pop... so why is anyone expecting it to do well on pop yet? Hasn't even been sent for adds yet... That's very simple, when Rihanna release a single not aimed for pop, she generally has a single aimed for pop. That's not the case this time so people put the focus on this (and even more now with 45S falling). The truth is this song is not doing worse that other Rihanna's songs with similar sound, Pour it up peaked at 40, Birthday cake at 41. Pour it up was released more or less at the same time of Stay (which was my previous point). I don't think this song will do nothing at pop, but it will do well on urban and probably on rhythmic. It's top 20 on the hot 100, but frankly unless something radically changes i don't think the song has many legs to do significatively better there

I don't mind this song being released. It likely fits in well within the scope of Urban and Rhythmic radio. My issue is, as the post above me points out, there was no pop radio-friendly song released concurrently with this. I'm actually not sure what her label is thinking. This isn't a pop hit, so unless they are giving up on the format a more typical Rihanna pop song should have been released as well as a follow up to FourFive Seconds. That's presupposing she wants maximum exposure before the album launch.

b/c "allow that" (or whatever the heck he's calling himself this week) brought gwen up to stir the pot, but apparently i'm the instigator? lol This week? This has been my user name since early 2012. You came in here, not as a Rihanna fan, but specifically to instigate by detracting from her chart success. I always find it odd when someone is so quick to scream "flop!" in the thread of an artist (or genre) they don't like while bragging about much smaller chart movements for other artists. If that's all one can contribute to a thread, then it's best to avoid it? I had no idea bringing up the Gwen example would snowball into such a sore spot that went on for days... People like me? Are you even familiar with my posts? Lmao. You're claiming that I "attacked" you but I've never crossed a personal line here (and I'd be HAPPY if the mods reviewed this so report away). You, on the other hand have resorted to calling me "delirious," "a little boy," told me to "grow up," said you "don't care to remember" who I am, etc. You have an interesting definition of attacking. And at the end of the day you're still posting away in the thread of a song you hate...

Other than a name change on April 1 to avoid the double l thing, "allow that" has always been allow that. At least as long as I've been here anyway. He certainly isn't one to change his name every week; and most recent Hot 100 thread aside, I don't think he's been posting in enough places to say he's living for anything around here. (He's actually been complaining about how boring this place has become!) So I'm genuinely wondering if, in your anger, you are getting him mixed up with someone else you don't like. As a side note, replying to your post or even vehemently disagreeing with you isn't warn-worthy, and as long as there is an ignore function for you to use, it never will be...that you are so easy to troll doesn't mean someone is trying to troll you. I don't mind this song being released. It likely fits in well within the scope of Urban and Rhythmic radio. My issue is, as the post above me points out, there was no pop radio-friendly song released concurrently with this. I'm actually not sure what her label is thinking. That's presupposing she wants maximum exposure before the album launch. I think FFS was the 'pop hit' - and is still in the top 10 after two months, as others have pointed out - which is why they were fine going with this. It isn't necessarily a safe strategy, but it also isn't a sloppy one if they have either another pop single OR the album release ready as soon as FFS finally fades out. I'm just curious how the release date for the album is going to play out because normally it would be within a month of the second single's release. I still suspect she is going to pull a J. Cole/Kendrick Lamar and announce it one or two weeks before it's coming.

Yeah there's definitely a different strategy this time around. As Cynthia said, 45s was a Pop hit, sure not as big as her previous lead singles but it was still very much a hit.
Why rush things and throw out another single along with BBHMM when 45s is still Top 10 around the world in most major markets. Since there is no confirmed album release date I don't see what the big issue is.
BBHMM will likely go #1 on Urban and Rhythmic within the next month as most or Rih's ratchet songs get played to no end on those formats. Then they might have a multi-format single to coincide with the album release...who knows? :)
On another note, American Oxygen is an absolute eargasm and I can't wait to finally purchase it.

FourFiveSeconds is out of the top 10 on both the Pop charts and iTunes. Now would be a good time to release the next Pop single.
