What a shame this didn't even make Top 40. And it's also a shame they didn't put out a new album anyway. I imagine we'll get it sometime before the year is over, but hopefully sooner rather than later.

Well, that's that. The song went recurrent on this week's Billboard chart, peaking at #46, which I think is his lowest ever. If a lead single can stiff like that, his radio career is over. Even though this wasn't his best effort (too much "talk-singing" and not enough of his real singing voice), it was a pretty catchy tune. I'd have figured this song was a shoo-in for top 20.

His second single from his last album, "I Believe" did even worse, it managed a peak at #50 for Billboard, but did crack the Mediabase Top 50 but really went nowhere there either. So "I Believe" is his lowest, followed by "Let It Go" #46 for Billboard.

Another legend stiffed by country radio in order to invite the new wave of fresh "talent". Oh joy...

Quote and post of the YEAR in an absolute landslide!!!
A new CD from The King by year's end would be wonderful, but I don't know if that's possible or a total longshot.

Quote and post of the YEAR in an absolute landslide!!! A new CD from The King by year's end would be wonderful, but I don't know if that's possible or a total longshot. UMG is releasing Alan Jackson's album in 3 weeks' time, without a single on the charts (I don't even know if "Jim and Jack and Hank" will chart), so I'm sure they'll release a new George Strait album if George has one ready to go. It's not as if people will think "George Strait? Hmmm...who's this guy?" George will sell on name recognition alone, just as artists like Willie Nelson (and other legends who no longer get airplay) are still able to do.
