I can't imagine Kworb's forecast would be off by so much.

I'm quoting Kworb from ATRL "It's possible, I did have to fiddle with the daily weights in order to lower her estimate. It looked too high after BB said 350k max"

I heard the album version on the radio this morning on the way to work. It was a nice surprise as I really love Taylor's verses. Though, the remix definitely packs a bigger punch on radio during the chorus.

I'm not sure why I'm just now noticing this, but this is the fastest we've seen a fourth single smash since Katy Perry's "E.T.," and that's kind of funny since this song is about Katy Perry.
But here's a few other things: Both "E.T." and "Bad Blood" had super hyped music videos. Both "E.T." and "Bad Blood" were released in the spring. (Though, of course BB much later in the spring than ET.) Both "E.T." and "Bad Blood" got remixes as their official singles. Both "E.T." and "Bad Blood"'s remixes featured rappers that are critic darlings.
That's a lot of strange coincidences. I kind of hope it was planned to be that way given the song's content. Also, it makes me appreciate this as the fourth single so much now.

I haven't even been bothered to listen to the album version to make comparisons since the remix came out. I still remember it as being a terrible song in its original form. Maybe tonight I'll risk it.

Just got around to watching the video and hearing the remix, lol. I must say its pretty awesome. Way better than the album version. Video looks like it cost a fortune. Highest budget video ever? Or no?

Or no? I doubt it. The most expensive music video ever is $7 million for Michael Jackson and Janet Jackson's "Scream" (about $10.8 million now). I don't think "Bad Blood" cost near that amount. Maybe $1-2 million at most.

Was home in Southern California this weekend, only heard KIIS play the original. Now I'm back at school and the local radio station is also only playing the original.
What's the issue? I would think with the way the remix is selling (and it seems to be stabilizing on iTunes) that radio stations would want to play it over the album version.

I'm actually surprised that my local radio station is playing the remix. A few years ago, they use to advertise that they were "rap-less" and would edit a rap feature out of a song completely. Maybe it will change if a bunch of older people complain.. But I hope not as I much prefer the remix.

I'd really like to hear a version where Kendrick's verses are replaced by Taylor.

Taylor Swift's 'Bad Blood' Blasts to No. 1 on Hot 100 Swift scores her fourth No. 1, narrowly dethroning Wiz Khalifa's "See You Again." Plus, David Guetta's "Hey Mama" hits the top 10. Taylor Swift soars to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with "Bad Blood," featuring Kendrick Lamar, following a full week of tracking after the song's video premiere to kick off the Billboard Music Awards, which aired May 17 on ABC. Winning an extremely tight race, "Blood" displaces Wiz Khalifa's Furious 7 soundtrack hit "See You Again," featuring Charlie Puth, after six weeks on top.Plus, David Guetta reaches the top 10 with "Hey Mama," featuring Nicki Minaj, Bebe Rexha and Afrojack.
As we do each Wednesday, let's run down the all the news, good and "Bad," in the top 10 and more on the sales/airplay/streaming-based Hot 100 (dated June 6). "Blood," released on Big Machine Records and promoted to radio by Republic Records, surges from No. 53 to No. 1 on the Hot 100 following a week of tracking after Swift premiered its celebrity-studded clip to open the BBMAs. The song rockets 26-1 on Digital Songs with 385,000 downloads sold (up 721 percent) in the week ending May 24, according to Nielsen Music. It also vaults onto the Streaming Songs chart at No. 3 with 18.1 million U.S. streams, with 99 percent of its streaming activity from Vevo on YouTube clicks of its official video. On Radio Songs, "Blood" bounds 46-15 with a 109 percent increase to 57 million all-format audience impressions. The track sweeps the Hot 100's three top gainer awards, for digital sales, streaming and airplay, marking the first song to so triple up since Mark Ronson's "Uptown Funk!," featuring Bruno Mars, earned all three honors on the Jan. 3 chart. In honor of Swift's new Hot 100 leader, here are 13 (her favorite number) fun facts about the song's coronation:1. "Blood" is the 1,043rd No. 1 in the Hot 100's history. The chart launched on Aug. 4, 1958. 2. More pertinent to Swift (and fans), it's her fourth Hot 100 No. 1, following "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" (three weeks at No. 1, 2012), "Shake It Off" (four, 2014) and "Blank Space" (seven, 2014-15). 3. As "Blood" follows "Shake" and "Space" as the third No. 1 from Swift's blockbuster album 1989, the set is the first to yield three Hot 100 toppers since Adele's 21 in 2011-12: "Rolling in the Deep," "Someone Like You" and "Set Fire to the Rain." (The album version of "Blood" features only Swift, not Lamar, who was added for the single version.) 4. Lamar lands his first Hot 100 No. 1 and second top 10. He'd previously reached No. 8 in 2013 as featured on A$AP Rocky's "F**kin Problems" (also featuring Drake and 2 Chainz). 5. Swift not only tallies her fourth Hot 100 No. 1, but also her 18th top 10. It's her fourth from 1989; in addition to the No. 1s "Shake" and "Space," third single "Style" peaked at No. 6. 6. Swift scores her 10th Digital Songs No. 1. She ties Katy Perry for the second-most leaders on the list. Rihanna leads with 12. Speaking of Perry… 7. … as she's rumored to be the subject of "Bad Blood," perhaps she's the subject of the Hot 100's new top song. Swift's explanation of the lyrical theme (to which Perry may have indirectly responded on Twitter): "For years, I was never sure if we were friends or not," she told Rolling Stone about an unnamed female celebrity. "She would come up to me at awards shows and say something and walk away, and I would think, 'Are we friends, or did she just give me the harshest insult of my life? [Then last year] she did something so horrible. I was like, 'Oh, we're just straight-up enemies.' And it wasn't even about a guy! ... So now I have to avoid her. It's awkward, and I don't like it." 8. The 53-1 jump for "Blood" on the Hot 100 is the greatest to the top since Swift's "Together" hurtled 72-1 in 2012, following its first week of sales (after the song had first charted from early airplay). The record leap to the summit: Kelly Clarkson vaulted 97-1 with "My Life Would Suck Without You" (Feb. 7, 2009). 9. As previously reported, "Blood" blasts onto the Pop Songs chart at No. 13. Only two titles have launched higher in the airplay ranking's 21-year history: Mariah Carey's "Dreamlover" (1993) and Swift's own "Shake," both at No. 12. 10. Also as previously reported, "Blood" broke Vevo's 24-hour worldwide viewing record, with 20.1 million global views in its first day of release. 11. "Bad" news is sometimes good, as Swift's new Hot 100 No. 1 is the 11th song to top the list with the word "bad" in its title. It's the first since Daniel Powter's "Bad Day" in 2006. The first? Jimmy Dean's "Big Bad John" in 1961. Swift's new topper is also the second No. 1 "Bad Blood": Neil Sedaka's different song of the same name reigned in 1975. 12. With her Hot 100 victory, Swift has new fodder for on-stage: The U.S. leg of her 1989 World Tour kicked off last Wednesday (May 20) in Bossier City, La. 13. The race for Billboard's top song of the summer of 2015 just got much more interesting. With "Blood" advancing to No. 1 just before the seasonal tracking period and the return of the annual Songs of the Summer chart, the song will compete from a strong starting spot. We'll find out the winner just after Labor Day.
