This was the final single from his album, "Graduation." It peaked at #69 on the Hot 100, #9 in the UK, #48 at CHR/Pop, #27 at rhythmic and #53 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles chart. This is a great song, and so cleverly written. I wish it would have done more.

Back in 2008, when I was compiling the Mediabase chart w/ recurrents, I gave this song a listen when it was on the chart. I thought it was awesome with the piano playing and the singing. I remember the measly 4 week chart run: 95-86-78-98. I still like playing this every so often!

Such a good song. I love how he talks about his city and missing it.

I do like the instrumental and the concept of the song, but for some reason I never liked Chris Martin on this song.

I lived in Chicago at the time, and it was such an anthem. To top it off, I got to hear him play it at Grant Park in Chicago during Lollapalooza with my apartment tower glowing behind the stage only to be there to see Obama on election day a couple months after. It was inescapable during my time in Chitown.
This really did deserve so much better. Graduation as a whole is that Kanye album for me. I miss 2007/2008 Kanye.
