Paulboard Top 30 | Issue Date: 05.10.15• Future girlfriend (wife?) of @markg94, Tori Kelly, jumps to No. 1 with "Nobody Love", earning this Californian cutie her first-ever Paulboard chart-topper. • Typically, Britney would have been a serious contender for the No. 1 spot, since she previously debuted on top with "Hold It Against Me", "Till The World Ends", "I Wanna Go", and "Work Bitch." Unfortunately, she seems to have finally come up with a lead single that I just can't get into. • Speaking of debuts, two of this week's debuts are shaping up to be serious No. 1 contenders in the near future: Bridgit Mendler's "Ready Or Not" and OMI's "Cheerleader (Felix Jaehn Remix Radio Edit)", along with another song that I just discovered yesterday thanks to surfy's chart. @markg94 ; surfy ; hitseeker. ; Zeebz ; Dylan :) ; Mr. Thonk Eyes ; Daniel Collins

LMAO at the commentary for Nobody Love But good to see it at #1 LOL, glad you enjoyed that! ;) In all seriousness, both Zeebz and @markg94 deserve a lot of credit for helping me really appreciate "Nobody Love", when I was initially really underwhelmed by it. Thanks, JT :) I'll keep my fingers crossed for you and Tay, btw. What a #1! Lovely! haha yeah I wish she could be my future gf/wife...I can dream right? Interesting re-entry for Birthday and Ooh La La nice chart! I'm gonna try to post my last week's chart as soon as possible! that drop for Infinity though :O I guess you were right when you said it wouldn't have much longevity lol Keep the dream alive, man. Keep the dream alive. "Birthday" was on my mind due a dear friend's birthday on Saturday, and "Ooh La La" due to new-Britney-single hype. I actually regret not giving "Ooh La La" more of a chance when it first came out, it's actually really fun and catchy. Certainly MILES better than "Sh*tty Girls." Yeah, "Infinity" is OK - now that the initial "OMG NEW MARIAH YES YES YES!!!" hype is wearing off, it'll get eclipsed by other stuff that I'm loving right now. Unless the video is really awesome and re-kindles my interest...but who are we kidding? Thanks, Mark! :) Lmaoo at Ooh La La entering but not Pretty Girls! Nice jumps for Talking Body and Worth It But, but, but.... #9? LOL. Thanks for assisting him, Surf! :) It's official I'm blind lmao thanks! LOL, it happens to the best of us! I realize now the way I talked about "Pretty Girls" in my commentary made it seem like it hadn't charted at all, but I just meant that it charted pretty low for a brand-new Britney single that features an act who has also done much better on my chart in the past (both "Fancy" and "Work" were No. 1 hits.) Thanks, Dylan! :)

Paulboard Top 30 | Issue Date: 05.17.15• OMI leaps No. 16 ---> No. 1 to nab his first-ever Paulboard chart-topper with the Felix Jaehn mix of “Cheerleader.” A big part of what’s made me fall in love with this song is the pre-chorus: “And they say ‘Do you need me? Do you think I’m pretty? Do I make you feel like cheating?’ I’m like ‘No, not really…’” I think that response to girls throwing themselves at him is hilarious, and it reminds me of “Honey, I’m Good.” as another current monogamy anthem that isn’t just the cliché “I only have eyes for you, I’ll love you and only you 5ever and ever, baby, baby, baby.” • Although "Ready Or Not" is nearly three years old now, I've just gotten into it lately after realizing that the newest addition to the Undateable cast is Bridgit Mendler herself. I was vaguely aware of the song when it was charting on Billboard, but falling in love with her character on that show that gotten me into it in a whole new way. • Ed Sheeran earns his fourth consecutive Top 20 hit from x, as latest single “Photograph” enters at No. 8, following “Sing” (No. 17), “Don’t” (No. 5), and “Thinking Out Loud” (No. 4.) He performed the song on a recent episode of Undateable, which is clearly starting to influence my listening habits. • MINOR FORMAT UPDATE: I've decided to cut down on coloring, so from now on, goldish will only be for songs that climbed to a new peak position, whereas songs that merely climbed from the previous chart will remain black (but italicized.) Red will still be for all debuts and re-entries.@markg94 ; surfy ; hitseeker. ; Zeebz ; Dylan :) ; Mr. Thonk Eyes ; Daniel Collins

"Ready Or Not" is perfect so I'm glad that you're getting into it! Better late than never! Oh, and I love the debuts of "Overload", "Sparks", and "This Summer's Gonna Hurt". Fantastic chart, Paul! <3

Great #1 and debuts/re-entries! I sure wish Meghan would release "Credit" instead of "Dear Future Husband"...nice chart! :) I should get get started on listening to Maroon 5's new single lol. I was hoping they'd release IWAY instead but oh well...maybe this one can give Maroon 5 sole proprietorship of the record on my chart for the most #1 among all acts since "Sugar" failed to do so

Fantastic chart, Paul! <3 Ah, are you a bit of a Bridgit stan, or just a huge fan of that particular tune? Would you highly recommend any other tracks of hers? Many thanks, Zebstin! :) Great #1 and debuts/re-entries! I sure wish Meghan would release "Credit" instead of "Dear Future Husband"...nice chart! :) I should get get started on listening to Maroon 5's new single lol. I was hoping they'd release IWAY instead but oh well...maybe this one can give Maroon 5 sole proprietorship of the record on my chart for the most #1 among all acts since "Sugar" failed to do so YES @ you loving "Credit" too! I do love DFH, and I'm glad it became a single, but "Credit" is definitely my favorite track on her album that wasn't on the EP. It really should've been on the regular edition. I was pretty unimpressed with TSGHLAM on first listen, and I still don't hear anything really special about it...but I keep finding the "f*ckaa, f*ckaa" part of the chorus stuck in my head, so I guess it's catchier than I've been giving it credit. I'd definitely be down with M5 setting some records on your chart. Who do they share that honor with right now? Many thanks, Mark! :) Good to see Cheerleader at the top! I like a lot of the re entries/debuts also! I'm still loving "Cheerleader", so it should hold pretty strong on my next chart (though not necessarily at No. 1.) If it blows up here in the US, which I hope it does, it could end up enjoying some real longevity on my chart. Many thanks, JT! :)

Many thanks, Mark! :) Eminem likewise has 5 #1's to his name, officially, although he would've had some more in 2010 if I had a chart back then :/ Yeah that "f*ckaa" repetition (I heard a snippet of the song) is part of the reason I haven't been I haven't taken the time to listen to it in full lol. It might grow on me gradually (or possibly abruptly) though. Yeah I'm not really a fan of DFH because it brings out her sexist side which is a very unappealing side of her IMO :( it's basically saying that men are slaves. Plus, even aside from the lyrics, I didn't find the song all that catchy either lol hence why I never took much interest in it. Can't wait for your next chart! :)

Due to life stuff (good stuff), I'm a bit behind this week. The latest chart has been compiled, but I won't have time to post it here with commentary until tomorrow, so I've got a couple tidbits to tide you over. ;)
05.24.15 CHART PREVIEW: • The latest No. 1 is neither a debut nor re-entry. • There are only two debuts (one inside the Top 10 and one inside the No. 11 - No. 20 range) and nine re-entries, which is actually slightly on the low side, since they generally make up about half of each chart.
Many thanks, as always, for checking this out!

Paulboard Top 30 | Issue Date: 05.24.15• OMI narrowly holds onto the No. 1 position with the Felix Jaehn mix of "Cheerleader", thus making it only the second multi-week No. 1 of 2015 so far, after Ryn Weaver's "OctaHate" ruled for three non-consecutive weeks (not counting "Style", which spent five weeks at No. 1 in 2014 and two more in 2015.) • By entering in the runner-up spot with their latest single “Black Magic”, Little Mix earn their highest-charting Paulboard hit to date, surpassing the No. 6 peak of their debut single “Cannonball.” “Black Magic” is a very strong No. 1 contender, and it would have debuted there if it had more time to accumulate plays during this past chart week. • Taylor Swift's highly-anticipated “Bad Blood (Remix)” debuts at a modest No. 13, while the original rap-free album version re-enters at a new high-point of No. 9.@markg94 ; surfy ; hitseeker. ; Zeebz ; Dylan :) ; Mr. Thonk Eyes ; Daniel Collins

Another great chart with a lot of the songs being ones I like I don't agree with you on charting the two versions of BB separately though :( but it's your chart so I have no say in it lol. I wonder if either can make #1...I presume the remix would be the less likely one to do it lol. Ouch at that fall for Fight Song :/

I wonder if either can make #1...I presume the remix would be the less likely one to do it lol. Ouch at that fall for Fight Song :/ Ah, yeah, I've always had a policy about separating different versions of songs, so it's nothing against Taylor or "Bad Blood" specifically. I don't expect either to ever hit No. 1, since the original's been out for so long now and the remix isn't doing much for me. I won't say it's totally impossible...just 99.9% unlikely. ;) "Fight Song" had a really consistent run for a while, especially for my unpredictable chart, so it was bound to wear off me eventually: *2* - 7 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 5 - 30 - ? I still like it, and it could definitely get a second wind if it turns into a proper Billboard smash. Watching songs I like take off on Billboard generally re-ignites my interest in them. Many thanks, Mark! :) I saw one of these No. 1-Recap-Tables in Daniel Collins's chart, so I decided to make my own: DATE | SONG | ARTIST | 01/04/2015 | In Your Arms | Nico & Vinz | 01/11/2015 | Love Me Like You Do | Ellie Goulding | 01/18/2015 | Blank Space | Taylor Swift | 01/25/2015 | Only Love Can Hurt Like This | Paloma Faith | 02/01/2015 | FourFiveSeconds | Rihanna ft. Wait! Did I just saw a two-week #1? Wow! I wasn't a fan of the song (dropped it from my playlist after 3 listen) but since it's a #1 on your chart and is turning into an actual hit, I guess I would give the song another chance. Mariah is still in top 20. . Please be as steady as "Fight Song". Is there a chance for "Marvin Gaye" to re-peak? "How You Get The Girl" is kinda random. :)

I'm sad to hear that "Cheerleader" made a bad first impression you, though I actually wasn't hooked at first either (it debuted at No. 16 three weeks ago, then leapt right up to No. 1), so maybe it can still grow on you too? It also helped when I started to actually listen to the lyrics and realized that it's not just about him banging some hot cheerleader - it's about having a partner who's supportive and inspirational (like a cheerleader.) Well, it's already too late for "Infinity" to linger in the Top 10 for as long as "Fight Song" did, but it's held pretty steady inside the Top 20 so far: *1* - 11 - 12 - 11 - ? Unless Charlie releases a new, strictly-shirtless version of the music video...probably not. HYGTG is just another of my absolute favorite 1989 tracks. Since BB was on my mind, so was the album, hence the HYGTG and BS re-entries. Many thanks, Daniel! :)

Paulboard Top 30 | Issue Date: 05.31.15• As expected, Little Mix move No. 2 ---> No. 1 with “Black Magic”, thus blocking a resurgence by Hilary Duff’s “Sparks” and denying the former Disney starlet her second chart-topper (after “Chasing The Sun.”) • Maroon 5 take a massive tumble with TSGHLAM, but might the recent debut of the song’s ass-tastic video help reverse its trajectory? If not, it could go down as the worst-performing V single by far. • I went to see Pitch Perfect 2 on Saturday night (hence the re-entries for a couple of my favorites from the original), so you can expect to see some sequel songs charting in the very near future. @markg94 ; surfy ; hitseeker. ; Zeebz ; Dylan :) ; Mr. Thonk Eyes ; Daniel Collins

Love the jumps for Fight Song and Sparks! Glad to see Bright and Cups back, too I think you're the only one I've seen around here who really stans for "Bright", so that one always makes me think of you. It's not quite infectious enough to be a No. 1 contender here, but it's definitely really sweet and soothing. I must admit, I prefer Cool Kids a lot more, and sometimes when it comes on I feel a little burned on the intro/first verse, but get into it as it goes along. It's not a huge smash, but a nice song that is easy to listen to :)

Paulboard Top 30 | Issue Date: 06.07.15• Little Mix hold strong at No. 1 with “Black Magic”, marking the first back-to-back multi-week-No. 1’s since Ariana Grande’s “Santa Tell Me” (two weeks) and Taylor Swift’s “Style” (two weeks of a non-consecutive seven total) in December 2014. • Speaking of “Style”, it becomes only the fifth song to ever reach the coveted thirty-week-mark. Two of those four other songs also happen to be Taylor's: “Ours” (thirty-three weeks) and “22” (thirty weeks.) • As expected, watching Pitch Perfect 2 lead to the debut of one of the film’s new recordings (“World Championship Finale 2”) and several re-entries/gains for tracks from the original.@markg94 ; surfy ; hitseeker. ; Zeebz ; Dylan :) ; Mr. Thonk Eyes ; Daniel Collins

YASS @ "Shots" debuting. Be top 10 please That bump for Maroon 5 . Adam's ass effect??? I've been seeing "Sparks" around on some charts here, so I guess it's time for me to join the party. Haven't listened to any Hilary Duff song by the way so I don't know what to expect as of now. "One More Try". It may not be flawless but I'm so thankful to Mariah for doing this cover because I was able to discover George Michael. Without this , I wouldn't hear the anthem of my life("Kissing A Fool").

BRIGHT And all the Pitch Perfect entries! I presume you saw the movie lol. I saw it around two weeks ago and loved it, especially the My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark scene Ha, yup, I sure did! Like most sequels, it wasn't quite as epic as the original, but I definitely still enjoyed it. I wish the soundtrack included the version of "Flashlight" with just that new girl, the one that Anna Kendrick's character produced for her in the studio. Many thanks, Dylan! :) YASS @ "Shots" debuting. Be top 10 please That bump for Maroon 5 . Adam's ass effect??? "Shots" definitely has a shot at going Top 10 at some point...just not quite yet. ;) Never underestimate the power of celebrity crack flashing! :'( Woah...you've never heard a single Hilary Duff song before? Granted, even here she never had a HUGE radio presence (and I'm pretty sure the US was her biggest market.) She definitely has some poptastic gems worth checking out, especially "Come Clean", "Wake Up", + "With Love." Mimi's "One More Try" cover is DIVINE, and it's awesome that it introduced you to George Michael! Many thanks, you! :)

• Cool to see "I Want You to Know", "Sparks" and "Where Are Ü Now" in the Top 10. The former isn't Zedd's best effort in my opinion, but I still like it • Surprised to see "Only Love Can Hurt Like This" on your Top 10 again, but I can't deny that this is still perfect • So good that "Up", "Style", "This Summer's Gonna Hurt...", "OctaHate", "Hey Mama" and "Budapest" are on your chart as well. • Great debuts of "Shots" (I prefer the Broiler remix, but the original is also good), "Hold My Hand" and "Tom's Diner".

• I definitely agree about Zedd (I'd probably rank "Clarity", "Spectrum", and "Stay The Night" all above IWYTK), but it still managed to really grow on me. I think it was the "I'm better under your reflection..." part that first got stuck in my head, and then I started to really enjoy the whole song. • I actually didn't discover OLCHLT until January of this year (thanks to Zeebz), and then I've just randomly gotten back into it again lately. It's definitely the best thing I've heard from Paloma, although I really liked "Picking Up The Pieces" too. Many thanks, Juan! :)
